The beat way too keep your PS3 cool is to completely strip it down to a skeleton, and then drill holes in the bottom of it, just under the fan. That's what i done to mine.it doesn't even get warm now, it's what Sony should of done. its no t that hard to do and it will make your ps last for years and years, Ive had mine now over 3 years now and not a problem.

The fan is loud because it's running faster to blow the dust out! When you play on it watch movies and so on, you can't hear the fan. Xbox 360 is the most annoying thing ever, the fan makes so much noise!! I played it at a friends house, and thougt I'd just leave it running while i was sleeping but that is impossible!!! When it comes to noise the PS3 beats the 360 like it dose in any other way!

do you know why it doesnt need such a high fan... its really technical but its down straight smart. the fat has a large circuit board. Large = more time for the heat to dissipate. The slime is 3x smaller (cant remember exactly i think its 3 or 2 w/e) and that means Smaller = faster heat dissipation
