  • Here is an interesting story about this song, On the night before his birthday, Gandhiji from Delhi called MS at Chennai and requested that this Meera bhajan be recorded by herand sent to him for his birthday next day. She composed the song overnight and sent it to Delhi by first flight next morning, which he enjoyed very much.

    Later when Gandhiji was killed, MS heard this song on radio and fainted. She could not get herself to sing this for a long time. :

  • This may be not entirely correct, but Dukha Jahan Tahan Pir may mean "Remove all the world's suffering."

  • This actually is the poem creted by Meera...And Meera was from Rajashthan....the local language she had used in the poem....Meera used this word "Harinkashapa" in her local language, instead "Hiranakashapa" . And MSS is just singing those wording only....so, of course, she will sing what Meera wrote........Thank u
