I heart Joss, but there are many BDSM misreps:

1) Kinky peeps don't judge others as being 'so vanilla'; whatever rocks one's world--go for it!

2) No true BDSM'er would ever hit/whip/hurt anyone without consent.

3) She's using a 4'+ singletail...those toys draw blood! Not common.

4) 'No thanks, I'll pass' is decidedly chauvinistic. Joss could do better.

This clip reeks of LA producers foraging through BDSM culture to exploit it for their series.

I had my doubts when I first turned on DollHouse but I was pleasantly pleased. The show has an enjoyable cast and the story lines have gotten quite enticing to watch. But I am fast tiring of this quick speed the networks have for pulling the plug on their shows. Maybe they will be happy when people turn to other means than TV for enjoyment. I know, I am now turning away from watching new shows. I am tired of the constant disappoint in the networks. The shows are great, the networks suck!

While I agree that the dominatrix thing / sex doll is unoriginal it allows you to see a different side to the handler doll dynamic.

Here we see Boyd questioning Echo's blind trust and warning her that such a great amount of trust may lead to pain. Now that he is no longer her handler it will be interesting to see how his new role may influence Echo
