It looked like Picard got punched in the gut when he first saw Beverly. Which is understandable considering she is his dead best friend's wife who he has been secretly in love with for twenty years. I really wish there was more closure at the end of the series regarding those two.
Anyone else think Beverly pulled a joke? Since she probably knew how Picard would act, if there was a child on the bridge, and right as he got mad, she just steps into his view...
Obviously in THIS episode they were thinking of doing the Oscar/Buster Bluth uncle-father thing... but in later episodes they wrote new "history" and just pretended this scene never happened.
I don't think Picard is Wesley's father, if so, then the 7th season episode "Attached" would make no sense. In this episode Beverly finds out that Picard was in love with her since the day they met. If they had consumated the relationship back then..well I am sure she would have known his feelings for her.
Uh, I don't think that there was ever any question that Jack Crusher was Wes' father.
As for proof, in 'Attached' 7x08, Jean-Luc admitted that he'd had feelings for Bev for 20 years, but he had never acted on them since Bev was married. Hence...
see! this is why we thought jean-luc was possibly the 'baby-daddy.' did this ever get fully resolved? if so please say what season & episode answered this question. because clearly it was at least a huge question at one time. anyway, what a great scene, very well played.
Somehow I missed that controversy. I took it as JLP re-meeting wesley after having to tell him some very emotional news years prior. (And of course the whole Dr. Crusher thing)
This is what Wesley is thinking: "Father?"

The part where Wesley hits a control, and Picard shouts at him always, ALWAYS makes me cringe.
