BTW everyone....if you get Robin of Sherwood on Blu Ray....seasons 2 and 3 are in PCM UNCOMPRESSED AUDIO (in other words CD quality). Each of the episodes can be viewed as 'music only'....so in theory it would be possible to make a reasonable copy of the music. It's a real bitch that the original recordings for seasons 2 and 3 have been lost. That really burns my arse.

I've been trying to find these tracks on the Internet for years, knowing full well they'd never been published. I knew some clever dick would eventually do something like this, and I'm so grateful!! Thanks a lot, will be listening to this all the time now. Would be so good if Clannad got this onto CD.

@Verycrazygirl2 Hi there yes I was hunting for the second tune also - i remember it from the cromcroix episode at the end, unfortunately came across an interview with clannad singer in which she admitted that some records were lost or stolen, anyway they keep looking for it ;)

@Verycrazygirl2 Try checking the third season episode when Robert first tries to tell Marion he loves her....I am not sure of the episodes name off hand. I think there is a horse in that scene? I seem to remember the incidental music in that scene is the same as the 2nd track in Loopingstar's mix. The " lost" tracks were used in late series 2 and the 3rd series.

@loopingstaruk The music was from the 2nd series. I believe it was from the Lord of the Trees. It was very strong and rollicking. I will check my DVD and make sure, and see when they played it. I love your first music from Herne's Son- have you considered the Candle Pavane? I believe Casilean Oir on Macalla was used in some of the episodes of either 2nd or 3rd series.

Thanks for uploading some of the 'lost music'. Clannad really added so much atmosphere to RoS. I was hoping one of my favourite lost tracks was on this compliation. It was used in some of the action scenes.  Alas it is not. However-- this is great! Many many thanks!

@loopingstaruk pls see my post below. yes, the 'track' was used in "Trees". It plays while the Merries are trying to do a 'bloodless ambush" in the forest. Another great 'lost track' is "Royal" which first plays ( i believe) in the Prophecy as King John arrives in Nottingham. Do you have Clannad Live ( 2005)- in the RH medley, the last three'themes/tracks' are some of the 'lost music'as it were. Following Lady Marion is Royal/Action/ Mighty Chase. They are 'jazzed up' from the series

@loopingstaruk Thanks again! I did some looking and found a great section of "Action" in the 2nd half of Time of the Wolf. Grimstead Abbey with Robin and Grendal fighting and the merries escaping. Since Clannad gave each of the main characters a musical motif- imagine "Royal" sequences should be found anytime King John shows up. I am pretty sure that "Mighty Chase" is the track from Trees that started all this. Looking forward to hearing your extended mix!!

@loopingstaruk I am not sure where those 3 themes were used in Series 3. You have 2 of the best lost series 3 tracks on your mix. I have had the theme from the sword fight at Huntingdon in my head all day:-). Love it- wish it was longer:-) I think either "Royal" or "Action" that was used in Swords of Wayland- where Robin is captured and led off in between the horses in a blood red sunset. To my ears, Action/Mighty Chase blur into one another--but you likely have lots more musicality then I.

@WytchBlayde Herne's Son--- the music is from the sword fight between Robert and Owain of Clun. As loopingstar points out- no one really knows for sure what the track was called.

Thanks for uploading. I loved this TV series when I was a kid. That's why I made my parents buy Lego knights and castle stuff in the mid 80's (no "Robin Hood" there but that didn't matter to me). The series also made me buy a Clannad CD ("The Collection") several years later. Michael Pread will always be my favourite Robin.

Thank you for uploading this. It is a shame these tracks could not be included on the soundtrack cd. I have always loved that sample which starts at 0: 59, its very mystical. Perhaps sometime in the future these lost tracks will turn up somewhere.
