would these impacts be considered good? cuz ive seen a bunch of forester crashes and stuff like that, and the car didnt crumple as much. thats not really saying anything though. it seems like less force is being exerted on the driver and passengers in this test.
the more crumple, the better suited it is to lower speed crashes,
while the forester might not crumple as much, more forces will be exerted on the occupants of the vehicle in a crash like this, than the vitara, but the forester would protect the occupants better at a higher speed collision
Amazing how all these safety devices get into one´s subconscience gradually. My first 89 BMW 316i only had safety belts, and nowadays don´t think I would feel safe enough without side airbags. Fortunately these devices get at least somewhat cheaper each year...
Nice. The Grand Vitara held together very well and it also takes those side hits well. Nice improvement over the last generation as far as safety is concerned. Impressive.
WAAAAY better than the Japanse version!!

Compared with the same Test EuroNCAP, Mitsubishi Outlander behaves better and safer.
Note how GrandVitara jumps after the Frontale crash and then compare it with Outlander.

you have no statistical evidence to suggest that movement pattern is any less safe
