The video quality honestly ruins their live vocals, its kinda weird. i had the pleasure of seeing them at red rocks in 2010, and it was an amazing performance. vocals were great. people just need to stop being ignorant..

Ok first off letme just say I'm a Mastodon fan folks....but...they are f*cking painful to listen to live...vocal problems or not it just doesn't translate live...just my opinion but I've seen them live and even perform live on t.v. here and there...amazing how a band can sound incredible on an album isn't it? Don't get me wrong, there are bands that put on a phenomal live show but Mastodon is not one of them I'd honestly never see these guys live again...sad.

Mastodon have NEVER been a band with great live vocals, but if you look past that, they're amazing live. Seeing them on the final show of the Crack the Skye tour cycle was incredible. A live performance will never sound cd quality in every aspect because it's just that...a LIVE version where things aren't always perfect.
