  • PLEASE DONT PUT YOUR ARM ACROSS THE TABLE SAW LIKE THAT AGAIN! :-) very nice build i have to say though.... im a carpenter and simply dont have the time or knowledge to build my own speakers so hats off to you for this build mate :-)

  • please

  • whats the background song in the end? pls tell me...

  • What frequency are those T-line tuned to? The fs of those drivers is 83Hz i thought, but the line looks too long for a 83Hz tuning.

  • what kind of drivers are those???

  • @Deathsassaliant Full range drivers

  • I dunno if youve gotten this before but you should have a show on discovery or the science channel!!

  • Awesome end result. Did you measure the efficiency? I would like to build a pair, do you have the enclosure dimensions?

  • heres what i think if your a audio engineer and ou design products for a sompany or whatever they do why cant they build speakers leik that i have some odl technics speakers with 10 inch woofers an yea they sound nice to me on the low end and they are 3 way systems but u iet thoes 2 tiny drivers soudn a shit ton nicer in every way so if its possible to get away with less cone area and all that to produce a icer soudn why dont they do it in the firsdt place

  • hey, Do you have a building Enclosure? Cheers!

  • @Drumputter I'm not sure that made sense. A building enclosure?

  • @HexiBase Hey, I mean a Sketch with the building dimensions?

  • This sounds VERY VERY well in 720p through my Senn HD650s. GOod skills. Good cortex sirrrrrr

  • @TylerTron21 Thanks.

  • @TylerTron21 I miss my HD650's and RSA Hornet amp, but hey ho I sold them to fund my car audio. For now I'll make do with my ol' Denon AH-D1001 headphones and the 30+ other pairs i've got! But I do miss my HD's. Never give up my HD25-1's though.

  • @carspeakerreviews I have zero complaints about my set. I have the Crystal Wire upgrade as well. Just really cant decide if I NEED an amp to power them from my PC. (Using a Creative Labs X-FI HD , Newest version). It maybe one of those nerd impulses... "omg something i need to improve my blah blah blah"

  • @TylerTron21 I have to say that I made do with ... lesser amps with my 650's for nearly two years, and I just didn't get what the fuss was about. Then I bought the RSA and I new that they needed a good amp to make them sing. There was some cable upgrade that i was going to get from one of my sponsors Fang from head-direct (dot) com but the amp made all the difference.

  • Never cease to amaze me with your designs

  • @mrchrisk36 Thank you.

  • Hey Pete, are you familiar with TheMagicSandwichShow youtube channel? If not I think you might find it pretty interesting. Probably some users over there that you might recognize and if not they're a great bunch to get to know.

  • @Unzem Yes, I know all the YouTubers from the MagicSandwich.

  • hey man! Your amazing at your work! keep it up! My sub was going crazy! i wish i had them in my house :(

  • I really love the design of these. This is exactly what I am wanting to do for my room. I have a quick question...what are you using as far as a receiver/amp for these? I'm wanting to do a small surround sound type set-up with basically the same thing you have...just two simple full range speakers and possibly 1 small woofer. Any suggestions on receivers/amps?

  • porno music lol

  • @ttaannss Is that the first thing that comes to mind? Ha ha.

  • @HexiBase my girl was doing house work and she said you watching a porno in there?? i said no its hexibase showing off his new towers....she said whatever lol i had to show her...

  • u are a monsterr, fucking genius :-) did you go to school for this.

  • @realgangsta14 Ha! Well, I did build those things on Halloween night.

  • awesome work! =D

  • @FxOxC Thanks.

  • those suckers hit hard and LOWWWWWWWWWWWW!!! great vid! keep it up!

  • @SPEAKERSRULEMYWORLD Thank you.

  • Will these speakers(or the 206's)sound good with transistor power amp? Most have told me that I should use a valve amp.

  • @costellom5 They can sound good with either. For the moment, every listening setup I have is solid state and I don't really have any complaints, but I do plan on running a single-ended triode tube amp in the listening room at some point.

  • You sir are amazing! You made some little speakers sound like 8s.

  • @atomdragon4 Thanks, although there's really no correlation between size of a speaker and what it can do. That was the whole fun behind the "guess what's in my trunk" videos.

  • I've been putting off my fostex horns until I get a panel or table saw can't wait to hear them

  • @realmofexcursion A table saw is a good thing.

  • You really should wear a mask when cutting MDF mate :)

  • @richandiben I know. By the time I was done, I was pulling chunks of "wood filler" out of my nose.

  • can someone PLEASE give Pete (HexiBase) a nice big, beautiful shop to sell all random kinds of audio, and to mke more boxes for customers...if i had the money... oh man. you say ur not really a genius... but shit to some you are.. keep up the goodwork Pete

  • @BIGSEXY21O I'd hate to have an actual shop / store front. Just the cost of maintaining something like that would be ridiculous. The PWK Designs web site is my shop.

  • @HexiBase well true... plus i know many people know yu already. so the site will easy let you know who wants what, and all you hve to do is build and ship... either way good job bro. keep it up.

  • so this is the reason why people go T line. that is a lot of bass from such small drivers

  • @andythewooferguy Not exactly. Different environments and driver models call for different enclosure styles to achieve this kind of sound. Switch the speakers or the room, and those transmission lines become useless. In some instances, to get this kind of performance, I had to use bass-reflex cabinets, TQWPs, horns, and countless variations. You can't just develop an fixed association between a single enclosure style and some way that it invariably sounds. It's just not how it works.

  • @HexiBase thats interesting. so these type of enclosures only work due to the size of the room

  • @andythewooferguy That's still too broad a generalization. By saying "type" of enclosure, it implies that it behaves as such as long as it is a transmission line, regardless of it's length, cross-section, taper, driver position, etc... But it works the way it does on account of all the variables. Room size / shape, driver parameters, waveguide geometry, listening position, etc...

  • i definately like how you can turn something not really meant to be doing that into doing such a good job at it...i definately plan on getting a box design from you off your site pete!

  • @clickclakblastem52 Well, the cabinets do precisely what I intended for them to do. I just didn't spend a lot of time planning the project.

  • Always fancied building some TL's - think i'll give it a go!

  • @ugetfukked That's kind of the wrong way of looking at it. Transmission lines were simply what that particular listening space called for. The cabinets could very well have been something completely different, especially if they sat on the other side of that wall and fired into the living room.

  • haha okay u know what I mean. Audio Spooge,

  • @gfhnk out of my audio shaft.

  • Holy crap that's a lot of bass for such small ass drivers.

  • @philtrapp It can certainly seem so. People tend to associate bass with cone area, but one doesn't necessarily have to have anything to do with the other.

  • I hear ya man. I'm kind of a fan of making small woofers sound big.

  • nice track playing in the background

  • @johnny05x It's actually just some royalty-free music. I had to pick something that would still allow for the video to be ad-supported.

  • pete u are absolutely amazing i wish i had your skills..

  • @jesseadkins187 Practice makes better.

  • Thats it... I'm building a damn router table this weekend.

  • @xazax632 They're handy. Be sure to use birch or some other form of ply. MDF is too brittle.

  • I bet Steve would make a great wine connoisseur.

  • Another question for you Pete. After doing a little research on these Fostex 103's. I ran across a company that makes wooden phase plugs. What is your opinion on them?

  • @annarbor84 Haven't tested one.

  • Hey Pete when u gonna start building n selling in intersted in ordering a couple?

  • @NickRon06 ME TO!

  • @NickRon06 Building and selling? That's how I made a living for years.

  • Your a genius.

  • @marksp22 Not even close. But thanks.

  • What are you using to power these? How are these crossed over? What would you charge roughly to build a pair of these towers minus the Fostex's?

  • @annarbor84 There is nothing to cross over; each cabinet is loaded with just the one FE103E driver. They are being powered by a small T-amp.

  • damn i wish i knew howto build a tline

  • @BassPounderX The design is just coincidental. In a different room, or given different drivers, it might not have been a T-line.

  • @HexiBase I realize the design is built to the room and stuff but a basic t line should sound decent in any room right? I mean the ones u build might sound good in your room but move to another room it might sound diff but i think it would sound decent idk if im right because i know nothing compared to you but i like your videos alot so ill keep watching =D

  • Very nice build. It must be nice to have those in the sleeping quarters.

  • @cardboardcat15 Yeah, it's quite pleasant.

  • Wow, I can't believe the amount of bass coming from those. Awesome!

  • How much would this actual cost and what are all the components needed. I would really love a good room set up like this!!!

  • If those small speakers in such a box can create that type of sound... I WANT YOU TO DESIGN FOR ME. LOL

  • @kay188 thats what acoustical engineering major will do for ya. (or at least thats what i think pete is)

  • @kay188 The size of a speaker doesn't really determine much about the way it can sound. It's all about what you do with the pressure waves.

  • @HexiBase Oh, yeah I know. I'm just saying, that your knowledge and skills with sound is pretty amazing.

  • great vids man i love them

  • @1000bassnut Thanks.
