  • not that he did a really bad job on this one, but it's just.. i really do prefer Weller singin it.

  • @OldEchoes I honestly think I prefer this one.

  • Braggy never lets you down, great version of a classic song

  • I always felt this song had an eerie beauty only the british working class could truly appreciate, I hoped to pass it down to my lads. As usual, Mr Bragg excels and makes sure that I won't be introducing them to the usual rendition but his slighty dark and sparse version. Fuck 'em all, what a legend.

  • @asbosaxon

    correct

  • @asbosaxon well done, you have missed the target on so many levels. they have all been Fucked, again and again...

  • @broadstem I don't think you're in a position to tell anybody what a song means to them. No one is.

  • @asbosaxon" Sparse". Exactly. No fat, no flourishes. Just heart and soul, a voice and a guitar. No more is needed. I've been a Jam and BB fan for 30 years but never heard this before. I am Happy!

  • cool

  • Never heard this before. Great version of a classic song!

  • Where is this from? I didn't know it existed.

  • I remember seeing Billy on Rage late 80s / early 90s and he selected this song, said it was one of his favs, saying how brilliant it was writing 'two lovers missing the tranquity of solitude' into a song....
