Oh yes Greyfriars Bobby was my favourite story. I took my young son on the tour and a lady was horrified Gerry was telling this version of the story in front of him. The fact we were about to take this 12 year old into an area supposedly frequented by a poltergeist that attacks people didn't seem to bother her at all! lol
i like this guy hes a talented story teller its rare that a person can look at barbaric time and find a bit a humor in it but still explain it all even the description of the worlds first smurfs NOTE I AM NOT MAKING FUN OF ANYONE I DO HAVE A GREAT DEAL OF RESPECT FOR THEM AND THEIR STRUGGLES TO BE INDEPENDENT TO HAVE THEIR OWN IDEALS AND NOT FORCED ON THEM BY A FAT DOG BUTT UGLY KING WHO WANTED TO HAVE A HAREM
@Lennon1874 I don't find his accent particularly difficult to understand, but some Scottish accents really are unintelligible to foreigners. People from various parts of the U.S. and other countries can be hard to understand as well, so I wouldn't take it too personally. I rather like the Scottish brogue.
And I actually thought he was easy to understand, as some of the broader Scottish accents are sometimes much harder in other parts of Scotland. Of course I may be biased, as I love the accent lol.
I went to this tour. we had a female guide. I highty recomend everyone to take the tour! AAmazing history told in a fantastic way! Allthough the graveyard part of the tour was a bit creepy :S
I would probably be scared shitless but I really want to go now. If I do, I hope I get Gerry! He seems awesome! And he's not dead yet so it can't be that dangerous... ...... xD
The only thing I thought that was a little bit disappointing about this video is the fact that it was still quite light when the tour started and it's a lot scarier when it's dark throughout the tour. But I know that cannot be helped. Gerry seams like an amazing guide and where did the sound of the bells come from at the beginning of the video?
Yes I know... lol. I found that out AFTER I made the video. I did tell Jan to apologise to Gerry for me... I got it right in the article and interview I did though :)
I would say City of the Dead is the better of the Edinburgh ghost tours. higher standards usually. Ghosts are still nonesense however. But its well told nonesense.
I met the tour guide in the gift shop, when I went to Edinburgh last summer! I swear, he could be Ewan mcGregor's twin!! Very nice guy too :)

What's that bell in the background noise?
davidphantomoftheope 1 year ago
@davidphantomoftheope That was just the bell from the church we were standing next to :)
parafieldinvestigors 1 year ago
@parafieldinvestigors Which church was it? And was it ringing for a time (like ringing on the hour, half, quater etc.) or ringing before a service?

Great video. I didn't take a ghost tour once I was in Edinburgh. But I think that the next time I'll be there I'll do it.
