  • I love the lil 4 step move that only a Prince oriented Band can do so well.

  • Morris Day biggest pimp alive!

  • On Prince's Rave Un2 The Year 2000 dvd The Time come back in all their glory!

  • An International treasure. Nothing like it today.

  • Hip hop and rap fans too young to remember real r and b /funk music, this is what it looks like when you have excellent musicians who have honed their craft and can perform live without a hitch ! Sexy ain't it !

  • Un-freakin-believably slammin!

  • doc got the chili sauce

  • I LOVE IT! Miss these bands

  • The bass line is simple but funky. Jam & Lewis are always on the money. Nice tune by those too.

  • Everybody, let's have a jerk out!

  • Did Prince write this song?

  • @SFT24 Yes Prince wrote this. The good ole daysssss.

  • We need to bring these kinds of bands back. Total kick-ass all the way! Today's musical acts are seriously lacking.

  • That's cool!!

  • Great band. The band is tight.

  • This has to be one of the funkiest songs in the whole world!!!! I feel so cool playing it. This is my type of jam. Can't help but to move.

  • They have can perform live no doubt :)

I've seen them perform live and they do not disappoint their fans. :)

  • tight

  • that's funny.. at 2:34 Jesse got too happy , but he reovers. That's just how good they all are,...and they play together. That was the intention. @tonoslim. I like your comment. The dinstinction between Prince and Jesse is Prince's songwriting prouess. Live I can see a Superman VS. Shazam kind of thing. Prince picked this dude out without hearing him, that lets you know about the whole student pupil thing. Plus he coached Jesse to be tougher than him... Its all great

  • Where my STELLA at? LOL

  • so nasty!

  • They just were getting better n better each album then stopped!

  • Funny seeing Jay "big face" Leno holding that LP...What TIME is it?! Ha Ha!

  • damn!!!! that was the shit!!!!!!!!!! Why the hell are there no bands like this now???!!!! all the old people at work told me about the Time, id only seen them on Jay and Silent Bob b4

  • you can't find entertainment like that anymore!

  • damm i miss you guys

  • I saw the Jerk Out video twice. It was really flashy/cool. There was a part where Morris had a swimming pool in a stretch limo Talk about rock star fantasies. What ever happened to that video?

  • I miss albums

    Love you Jesse

  • Chili Sauce

  • WOW, thats something you would never think you would see again!

    What Time Is IT!~

  • This album was actually produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Prince was not a part of the reunion.

  • @sastaroo- thats not completely true. chocolate and jerk out were written by prince. Jesse Johnson is also a legitamate producer in his own right so i wouldnt count out his amount of input on the project. (and judging by blondie and the skillet im guessing he had his fair say)

  • BluntedBeyondBelief is correct. Quoting an interview in the May 1990 issue of Keyboard Magazine, Jimmy Jam stated, "We're working on a new Time record. Its being produced jointly. Everybody is involved, including Jamie Starr [one of Prince's aliases] across town at Paisley Park. The tapes are going back and forth between Paisley and our place. We're actually mixing the album right now." Later in the interview, Jam shared that Jesse had just programmed the Linn 9000 for one of the songs.

  • Morris is just so cool. Too cool for me. Lol!

  • Shame they pulled the MTV video that went with this great song...it is truly a classic. Anyone know where we can view it? I'd pay to d/l it, ya know?

  • Jesse Johnson, the only guitarist I know that can legitmately battle Prince.

  • LoL! Prince is good by not that good. I heard them both live and Jesse is a beast on the guitar.

  • @tonoslim Ya damn right!

  • @tonoslim Yes your right Jesse is the only one in the Minneapolis family that can hang with his royal badness.

  • @tonoslim true or dez or bb king 2 name a few

  • @tonoslim That new guy for The Time is bad ass too!

  • SOMEBODY BRING ME A MIRROR

  • he was good-I put him up there close to Prince & Michael-he had the funk down & I think they played him a lot on Soul Train

  • Oh, those were the days. Minneapolis on a Friday night. Hitting up First Avenue for a jammin show by Terry, Jerome, Morris, Jimmy and the rest. Please Lord let me get my youth back so I can relive these hot evenings once again! - Sammy from the Midway

  • @twinsfansam Ya heard?? Minneapolis Cafe on Monday nights..

  • where is that new album that they promised us? I NEED IT!!!! URGENT!

  • Isn't it something to do with them being unable to use the name "The Time" on any new recording because of their relationship with Prince?

  • I like this song but

    what does "Jerk Out" mean?

  • @harleykman It means going to the club and pulling something bad out of it.(fine woman!)

  • Now this is a show, you don't get this anymore with these new acts. they have no stage performance

  • You are SO SO RIGHT ON with this observation and comment.

The 80s was about bands that PERFORMED LIVE

and had the talent and skill to DELIVER

Hats off to Morris Day and The Time crew

  • The new bands have stage performance but its presence that they need.

FYI: Don't lump every new band into the same category unless you have seen every single one of them play. Every generation has its share of crap. It's not a phenomena that only plagues any specific one.

If you don't think there are good performers in today's music, then treat yourself to a Bruno Mars or Cee Lo show. I attended plenty of good and bad shows in the 80's and 90's. Tina Turner was "Simply The Best"

  • I looooooooooooooove this song!!!!

  • Hard 2 believe that Prince originally wrote this song way back in '81. SuperBad!!!

  • It just shows how way ahead of his time Prince was. I love The Time, best funk band ever!!

  • best band of the 80s

  • Still one the best bands...EVER!!!!!!!!!!

  • so nasty

  • The new band is tight but the originals shown here are the funkiest.

  • DDDDDDAAAAAMMMMNNN IIIITTTTTT!

    The time is still bad!

  • The Time, not morris day and the. JERK OUT!

  • WHOOH!

  • Hey Everybody! Across the Street! It's the Best Band In the World!

  • Yep Prince Wrote Morris Day & The time songs they Cool Friends

  • lmao glad those suits went out of style. they look like clown suits

  • Agreed.

  • this is a prince song. the time were the best band of the 80s.
