DSM is not as reliable as JDM even if the DSM has more power and potential. That's why if I don't want a car to race. I go Honda. I've had nothing but problems with Mitsubishi.

Don't know if it's actually cheaper to get to 400hp with an eclipse as compared to a civic, but that's not really relevant is it, because a civic weighs a lot less and will go as fast with less power.
You can pretty much get any B series Honda engine to 300hp without spending too much on it. and at 300hp, it won't be that far of a 400hp DSM performance wise as we've just seen ;)

I can buy a DSM for $1,500 without a swap and get more horsepower out of the stock motor than any B-engine stock. Not really. You do understand the principle of Vtec is not for power at all right? It is a FUEL ECONOMY function. The non vtec heads are better to build for boost simply because they do not have to wait for a certain RPM to kick into the better flowing cam lobe.

well originally I was planning just a turbo conversion but got advise from good tuning companies that a GT4 conversion would allow more tuning then the GTS engine. I started doing a custom dash board, in car pc then went to the paint and decided to go for the whole engine. Its not riced up with scoops ect but I like the paint it gives it a very aggressive look

Ho ho ho that civic got turbo and got the v-tec on it. eclipse lost that civic but it was a hang side by side. eclipse got more hp and civic got less hp and civic won got the v-tec and turbo.

DSM means Diamond Star Motor. It was the joined develpoment of the Eclipse/Talon and 3000gt/Stealth plus some other cars, between Mitsubishi(diamnond) and Chrysler(star).
This video is proof of how much making one crappy shift is worth. Once the civic found torque it started pulling. Until that one crap shift. Either way, both cars are friggin monsters! =)
Why I used Sunfires is because in a 98 regular 4 door Sunfire the manual even says the car is bound to stall at fast speeds in long distances, Or up hills on hot days.
Now that's a car that deserves to be hated on for such a shitty engine build.
Would suck to be on a busy highway and as your going up a hill your Sunfire starts stuttering then, BAM! You're rolling backwards down a hill and the semi driver behind you is shittin bricks.

yea im a dsm guy i own a modded 97 tsi awd the dude in the eclipse doesnt know how to drive his own car and leave the body kits to the ricers. the vtec kinda does help but not too much at all unless theres forced induction but i give props to the honda it was built legit and i wouldnt consider it a ricer at all thats a tuner civic and if you disagree which one has the body kit again??haha i also like that hatchback style of the civic too.

thank you for agreeing i love my dsm but any car im open to drive/own im not gonna be ignorant and say one car is better than anything in the world. i like dsms because of the bang for your buck factor. for instance you van have one running 10s no problem and little mods needed. i just know civics are kind more expensive to build up like that because of the small and "weak" engine block because i dont think theyre cast iron like a dsm motor

word im over hauling on my 97 awd this winter im shooting to run mid-high 10s next spring making everything bullet proof and the apperance: matte black with blacked out lights/windows and powder coated wheels so itll be invisible at night and look sick as fuck im trying to find a beater so i dont have to worry about being with out a car.

i agree.. would need 2 know other mods and the actual turbos used... but that 2g weighs way more than the civic so the power to weight ratio is wut really matters here.. both cahs have nice setups and ran strong.. but y kit a 2g it looks perfect off the factory line

DSM means Diamond Star Motor. It was the joined develpoment of the Eclipse/Talon and 3000gt/Stealth plus some other cars, between Mitsubishi(diamnond) and Chrysler(star).

Why I used Sunfires is because in a 98 regular 4 door Sunfire the manual even says the car is bound to stall at fast speeds in long distances, Or up hills on hot days.
Now that's a car that deserves to be hated on for such a shitty engine build.
Would suck to be on a busy highway and as your going up a hill your Sunfire starts stuttering then, BAM! You're rolling backwards down a hill and the semi driver behind you is shittin bricks.

eclipses engine blew civic tranny wentout long runn it was cheaper to fix my civic then da gs or gst but they was all stock n da gst was da fastes then id take da civic over da gs cuz theres no point in having a rs or gs if its not turboed lol
so over all they both good cars eclipse must have money 2 keep fixing n civic must have money 2 buy parts for but they both fast just depends wat u put on it
