Listen guys i just recently got RROD not but yesterday 03/09/2011 and i did the freezer trick.. i know i know sounds stupid but i shit u not it worked well after i did this. I placed it in the freezer for 30 mins and then removed it, wrapping it w/ a towel for 30 mins upside down. I then plugged it up and it works! son of a bitch works!

How does wrapping it in a towel help?! It will over heat even more than it probably does. Hell my Xbox 360 slim (Halo Reach edition) Overheats 7 minutes after playing. And thats why I stick to PS3.

Guy dont do the towel trick or better known as the towel trap. Overheating the system can result in permanent damaging. And the Rrod will just come back to haunt u in a week or so. I read that the towel trick can fry ur motherboard so I actually did it w/o the towel. I figured if the xbox overheated already then I could just leave it on. When mine gave me the rrod it was sideways. I turned it vertically and left it on for like 10-15 mins. It works now, dunno how long it'll last but I couldn't believe it lol

Not it's not a paper weight, cuz you send it in and the fix it in one week, and you get a free month of Xbox Live. And I borrowed my friend's 360, so the time will fly by. I know people personally that red ringed, and they barely touched their PS3. Just played Gears on PC, then borrowed their friend's/brother's 360.

You cant sell a dead PS3. red ringed 360's can be fixed with tools easily, so you can even sell those to tech geeks to fix and resell.

Bake the console to melt the solder back into position and then take it apart and get some real tight x-clamps fitted.... Its not 100% gauranteed but some people have had success doing this.

dude this is not the way to fix the error it will make it worse you need to remove the xclamps clean off the cpu gpu plus the heat sinks with some rubbing alcohol and reapply a thin amount of artic silver paste or an equivalent PS you believe this your an idiot im an IT Tech officer so i know a lot about heating issues
