  • 3:05: "You heard this?" Yes (about 150 times and counting). Awesome sounding engine.

  • Fantastic sound...

  • Screw the GT-40, Ill take a Vantageb like this ANYTIME ANYWHERE,

  • theres only one other car as good sounding as this and thats the Ford GT-40

But thism vantage is soo much smoother than that car and alot more nice to drive,

  • This the sound of the 5.4 v8 or the 7.0ltr RSW engine ?.

  • Neither actually. The problem with the 7L (and the 6.3) is the huge amount of work you have to do to the engine block to machine it out. For the 6.3 and 7, you need to bore out the block to take larger cylinder liners. For the 7, you need to take a lot of metal out of the lower part of the block to allow for the longer stroke crank.

Both mods cannot be undone, and there are no new blocks from the factory. So its a one-shot change.

  • On mine, we put in thinner liners -- 130thou overbore within the standard block. So its now 5.7 iitre or so. More importantly, it has lightweight carillo conrods etc, so it happily revs to well over 7k in safety.

It has the full bigbore exhaust all the way from the headers to the back, 2.5" piping. Has the standard centre cruciform crossover behind the gearbox, and then no mufflers in the rear pipes.

  • (plus lots of other stuff - msd ignition, 8 x 50mm webers, big bore intake, electric race water pump system, etc)

  • That's a fair amount mods & sounds great 5/5.

  • Thanks - engine needed rebuilding anyway because of failure of the rubber O rings around the cylinder liners. So just took the opportunity to update it while it was in pieces :-)

  • Fantastic sound

  • After all this time its still amazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing

  • OMG!! That noise is just beyon perfect. I would kill for an original Aston Martin V8 Vantage. Ironically, my mums uncle worked at Aston Martin building them and he was given the option to buy one. I wish he had.

  • There is only one thing that sounds better than this....a low level fly-past by a Supermarine Spitfire. Aston Martin V8s and Rolls- Royce Merlins - the greatest sounding engines ever.

  • Just absolutely perfect. That hits the spot.

  • The last true Aston - the new ones are awesome but this is still my favourite - and that noise!!! Only car that sounds as awesome is a Lister 7L XJS v12.

  • The exhaust note is much better than an F355 in my opinion.

  • It's different. Much more meaty and masculin. The F355 is like an italian soprano.

  • Just the best thing I've EVER heard

  • If I've had a tough day all I have to do is watch this and all is absolutely amazing because perfection is possible

  • yes its awesome, the best astons were 87-89 i had an x pack with a stainless ¨( banana ) exhaust, twas awesome, live in brasil now, no Aston, ah well !

  • wau,super ! mega sound

  • British Muscle

  • euthoria?

  • best sounding car ever.

euthoria every time i hear it

  • Perfect sound!!!!

  • Old cars still sounding better than actual cars!!

  • Only 40K for a good 'un! I'm saving up too!

  • Best Aston ever made. Everything that has come after it has been doomed to be a footnote to that car.

  • on of these passed my school at full throttle about a week ago. best sound ever. ever.

  • Would this have an H Pipe or and X pipe?

  • Cruciform silencer

  • Awesome video...

  • I am saving up..

  • Fuk mi! Listen to that!

  • excellent! thanks for posting. is this the James Bond The Living Daylights Aston Martin?

  • I'd so love one of those... So much better than the new V8s slightly artificial noise.

  • The new V8 Vantage can go swivel after that!

  • A wonderful V8 symphony!
