in the film, al said that doing the guitar parts for power windows was really really difficult... but imo its some of his finest playing. Some peeps complain his sound was kinda too thin and tinny back then, but he did so much variety on the album it balances out really nicely.
@Guyisthere I loved it! It was a different sound, yes. Bright, yes. But great for those 80s tunes! They just don't sound right nowadays when he plays them on the Gibsons, IMO. :-/ Plus, he got some awesome clean tones on his Signatures! :-D
It would would be easier to not switch guitars for a single song. Only times I can really think of him doing so before they started detuning songs was when he used the 4080 for Passage to Bangkok and Xanadu
@chrisbmets I think I remember reading somewhere that the Steinberger was more conducive to the live show around these times because of all the switching between keys and bass (less body material and no head on the neck to get in the way).
I understand the convenience of the Steinberger but it still sounded like shit!!!!

Power Windows was one of the first CDs I ever purchased and the sound quality absolutely blew me away. Loved it.

Funny to see Geddy using the Steinberger on The Big Money. I thought he used the Wal for this tune...he definitely did in the video for this song.

Um...I belive that's the camera, not the actual lighting. I saw this tour and the stage was NEVER this dark.
