  • this story is false, chewing gum did not come from Guatemala i just looked it up.

  • There was another chewing gum clip on sesame street that showed actual footage of gum being made in a factory. One boy kept putting gum in his mouth and another kid said something like "you keep doing that and you are going to blow up!"

  • That clip is also one which I'm looking forward to seeing again after several years!

  • @CaptNemo100 Actually, that clip is on Sesame Street's video site and I just saw it! That's right - '...you're going to blow up!'

  • i love how they say there are indians.... holy f&ck

  • Wow I was told chewing gum came from Dolphin flubber ! Lol

  • In case you want to know, the voice of the professor giving this lecture is none other than Brian Cummings. He was Doofus in Ducktales, and Papa Bear in the original 80's Bearinstain Bear cartoons, amoung others.

  • I thought chewing gum was made out of used condoms and recycled denture glue.

  • Well, I made it from an episod clip of his, if that's what you meant by me getting it.

  • Is it really true that chewing gum comes from Guatemala?

  • I'm pretty sure. Maybe not from there only, but I'm sure the guys who made this did their reaserch before they made this.

  • I think it would be cool if they showed this on Sesame Street today. Maybe as part of one of Global Grover's segments. He could have just come back from Guatemala with a bunch of chewing gum and then introduce this clip to demonstrate how he got it.

  • It would, dispite that fact that they're not making any new GG sketches and that they only show films.

  • It's true. This season has not produced any new Global Grover sketches and it's always been live action films so far. But only time will tell...

  • interesting clip :) Does anyone have the classic sesame street animation clip of a man using a pizza or a doughnut for his sign about the letter O? I'd love to see that one again. Thanks

  • I remember that one! I've been looking for it for months with no avail...let me know if someone gives you info.
