I agree with everyone. CGI is being overused and I absolutely love people in suits more than a CGI creature. Look at Predators, it's the only film that has near complete guys in suits and hardly any CGI monsters at all. That is one of the reason, it's one of my favorite films. It relies on the classic formula.

The people who produced this movie obviously are oblivious to the reason why the original Godzilla series were successful. Godzilla is not Jurassic Park so it is not meant to be hyper realistic. Sure, the original Godzilla is a man in a suit. But that's one damn awesome suit.

Why the hell didn't they use that robot? It woul've looked way better then the CGI one. Think about it. If you had that robot tramping on miniture buildings it would've been decent. However it still wouldn't be Godzilla.

@Clonetos I agree that the movie sucked, but inflatable bladders are a huge part of animatronics. Name any practical effect, and it has some sort of inflatable balloon bladder. And as much as the movie sucked, the practical fx are pretty impressive.

@celophysis5454545 Indeed! I've always been a big fan of practical effects myself. CG isn't lazy by any stretch, it's not as some people assume something the computer does for you, but practical effects are just more obviously solid and if they're done well it's better than CG. Even stop motion has its place, I mean some of the old Ray Harryhausen stuff is pretty real-looking and Phil Tippett will always be one of the greats. It might just be nostalgia but practical effects are just awesome. :D
