  • "hey, you're gonna build Beansie a ramp" ... my favorite line in the Sopranos

  • @timt4stic what? why?

  • lmfao, mannnnn I wish theyd let paulie say something else after the last comment. Love this fucking scene. Its not even what he said though, its how he said it like.. "hmmm, ill just put a toy train up there for the fuck of it"

  • richie is one of the most complex characters in the show, i wish he lasted more than one season.

  • pretty sure a lionel is a train hahah, which makes it that much more funny

  • Vito is the nephew of Richie ?!

  • Comment removed

  • @yenicep oh and richie is jack aprilles brother.. which son had sex with meadow who is related to christopher.. one weird family ;)

  • Richie had balls. Only one in the series who would say anything to Paulie besides Tony. Everyone else was too chicken shit.

  • @piratebri that's not true at all. christopher said "fuck you" multiple times to paulie, a lot of other ppl give him shit as well... ralph and christopher mainly.

  • @piratebri Exactly, that's why Richie only lasted one season. He was gonna get clipped but Janice did the entire crew a favor

  • @piratebri Actually Chris did on some occasions.

  • @pakakotako The only reason Chris stood up to Paulie was because he was Tony's nephew. If he wasn't related to Tony, Paulie would've fucked him up.

  • @pakakotako Not to mention Ralphie

  • @piratebri not true...feech la manna had balls the size of grapefruits...he put paulie in his place

  • it'd be killer to see Richie in his younger years

  • @Te4RHyP3 Indeed. I remember talk of a fourth Godfather movie featuring Leo as a younger Sonny Corleone and always wished I could see that, too. If you've read the novel, there's a story there...basically the story of Sonny Corleone being an unstoppable badass while his father was recovering from a random murder attempt.

  • Richie and Feech were the only two guys who ever stood up to Paulie.

  • Not up my ass though... just so we're clear.

  • I like Lionel trains. I just don't like the tracks. They're like subway tracks.

  • ill build a ramp and du drive a lionel up in there lmao well i hope he dosent use one of lionels scale models lol crazy bastard

  • There's probably no Sopranos character that made me laugh so hard while giving me the creeps, as Richie did. He was one my favourite characters to watch; I know it's twisted.

  • It's wierd that Veto is obviously not a made guy in this. And is clearly an aprile Relative. But like one season later he's magically a made guy and a captain.

  • @quasiphatpaul His name is spelled VITO.

  • @quasiphatpaul yyeeaaaaa that was wierd

  • Beansie should have given Richie a cut out of the pizzeria's he owned when Richie got out of the joint. Big fucking mistake.

  • @rjplamf61 well, yeah, in hindsight, it would have been a good idea....lol

  • haha loved richie

  • Richie and Ralph were the only two guys who weren't afraid of Paulie at all. Well, maybe Feech LaManna too.

  • @marc80s Richie was just arrogant. Remember he got shot by his own future wife, A "Soprano". Janice was a pig, but she had balls.

  • Richie was a fucking prick, i was glad when he got clipped!

  • Richie was possibly one of the most vivious characters in the show

  • I personally think they should've given Richie a two-season arch. He would've been a more natural mentor for Jackie Jr. than Ralphie (and hopefully that would've given Ralphie more time to develop...HE was killed off far too quickly).

The way it went down, Richie wasn't the most realistic character in the show's history; he made guys like Paulie and Phil seem pragmatic.

  • @jetelegen Paulie didn't spend a decade in jail. Phil did, but he got a high up position with Johnny's family when he got out. I think that a lot of Richie can be attributed to the fact that he kept his mouth shut like he was supposed to for all those years and when he got out he expected to be taken care of and put back into action.

  • @troublemakir Actually, Richie, like Phil, was made a capo when he got out, and he was grateful for the money he got (at least until Janice started talking).

It makes sense that he was disgruntled. What doesn't make sense is the rapidity of his move against Tony, as well as the complete recklessness he often acted with until that point. It made him seem like a total psychopath, begging the question how he got to such a high-ranking spot in the first place.

  • @jetelegen He went to the joint and never said a word. He got his merit when he got back out and he expected to get some of Beansie's take, because he fiancially backed Beansie, before he went into the joint. That was his reason for beating Beansie up. Beansie built up a decent business over 20 yrs. while Richie was doing his time.

  • @inilledra I'm not questioning Richie's reason for being pissed at Beansie. I'm questioning the realism of his decision to brutalize him as he did, particularly after Tony expressly told him not to. And that wasn't the only time he brazenly defied him. He basically asked Tony to kill him all season...I can't see a guy like that being a capo in real life.

  • @jetelegen I would agree with you on every point you stated. He was always a loose cannon. Kind of like Anthony Spilatro was in Vegas. Same end result, becareful who you piss off.

  • @jetelegen Richie would be great in a fight or a war or leading troops, but he was shitty running things, not seeing everything through. Thats why Junior dumped him and went with Tony

  • @maven21 Personally, I don't think he was (or could be) great at anything. He was too much of an egomaniac to be subservient to anyone else, and...like you said...he couldn't inspire people to follow him.

Consider that everything he did of a violent nature was in direct opposition to Tony's wishes (the same would've applied if Junior were in charge...remember that the card game he disrespected used to be Junior's).

One caveat: He may have been more formidable before his stint in prison.

  • I would have loved to have seen more conflict between Paulie & Richie. Both guys were really intimidating.

  • This guy was one of the most entertaining characters they had on the show.He was the best.

  • Look at Sil's face at 1:23 after Richie's comment. Hilarious!

  • ....and maybe while I'm over there I can fuck his wife. LMAO

  • Adrina was his relative, Beansie never owed him any money and nobody really cared about Janice. For the recored, nobody on that show was an angel. Richie was an unpleasant character. I don't think people hated him, though. Just repulsed by him. My favorite quote: "Veal parmegian sangweech... fuck you!"

  • I don't see why anybody hated Richie, he told Chris not to hit adriana anymore, he shook down beansie for his money back and he struck Janice but shit she is annoying

  • @BMXrider750 Yes but he hit Janice so he put his hands on a woman too

  • In this scene Richie plans drive a toy train into Pauly's ass...Pauly silently objects...

  • @yoyo2ma Yea true Paulie was an asshole, lol.

  • Comment removed

  • Hey you're going to build Beansie a ramp.

  • I hated Richie.Glad he got whacked.

  • You can totally tell in this scene that Steven van Zandt is acting and Tony Sirico isn't

  • richie should of been Boss!!!

  • @lebron7831 The guy who played him actually went for the role of Tony.

  • @yoyo2ma really? he was in Mean Streets. But in real life he's Jewish, not Ital-Americano

  • @Vidinotes I know. Maybe thats why he didn't get the role of Tony; although James G was the right choice anyway. But yeah, many Jews played Italian characters very well; like Henry Winkler played the Fonz on Happy Days and Rea Pearlman played Carla on Cheers. And Max Casella (Benny) is half Jewish.

  • @Vidinotes The guy who played Micheal in Meanstreets (the loanshark) was also in the Sopranos. He played the shrinks ex husband.

  • @rjplamf61 wow - I never made the connection. He was great in Meanstreets! Then plays a yuppie in Sopranos. Thanks!

  • I love how Sil and Paulie are playing the good cop and bad cop

  • I always thought Richie had alot of Balls talking to those two like that espeicially when they were high level. He should have been whacked then.

  • @Pulpedtoafiction31 Yeah and Ralphie gave it to Paulie pretty good too. It was good that some people gave it back to Paulie once in a while because he liked being a bully to people.

  • richie had little man complex

  • Richie was a meanie, he finally got whacked by his wife Janice!

  • I didnt really like Richie but I always had respect for him because he didnt take shit from anybody. That's a real gangster attitude.

  • @TaffTalk wtf write a retarded story then

  • richie and feech...both had problems with authority...both had to go.

  • this is the best scene from all episodes i've seen....he's a shopping cart, from here on now :D

  • I love how there is a plume of smoke around Silvio when they answer the door.

  • a good cop vs. a bad cop..:D

  • (takes a deep breath) *Calmly* "ill build a ramp up your ass..." lol richie was so badass

  • @jackstein104

badass? No. Richie was dark and violent, don't give him more credit than he deserves.

  • @ePirate7 a badass for me is a guy who doesn't take any shit, what exactly is a badass in your book?

  • @jackstein104

That's why Richie tried to move in on Tony and failed and instead got the barrel pointed back at him. And nobody on the show liked or respected him. And he looked like a rapist. Yeah! He was real bad ass!

  • @ePirate7 He was fucking badass, the guy was intimidating as fuck.

  • @ePirate7 he got killed by his fiance it had nothing to do with the mob you fucking idiot

  • @jackstein104 Ease up. He would have been killed by Tony (for conspiring against him) either way. The thing with Janice just turned out to be a happy accident.

  • @jackstein104 what does he say after that??

  • @SubwayRatt drive a lionel nail up in there.

  • @jackstein104 He said LIONEL as in the Toy Trains..............

  • @jackstein104 other then wen he got capped by a woman bahahaha

  • @BudBusterable ya lol that sucks.

  • haha did paulie died at the end? i hope so annoying fuck

  • Paulie always did get his way.

  • "Wait, are you fucking serious?"

Always laugh at that line. Just goes to show how little respect he had for these guys; he initially didn't take their request seriously.

  • hes a shopping cart, ha ha.

  • I want a shirt like Paulie's

  • Richie Aprile. Best fucking character on The Sopranos. Period.

  • I'll build a ramp up to your ass.

Drive a Lionel up in there.

HAHAHAHAHAHA DID YOU JUST SAY THAT TO PAULIE? OH MAN YOU ARE FUCKED.

  • The "build a ramp up to your ass" part was funny, but "drive a Lionel up in there"?? Lionels are toy trains. Odd phrasing.

  • I'll build a ramp up to your ass

  • richie was a great capo.

  • the dialogue is awesome, so is the acting. the soprano's is the best, nothing comes close.

  • Jesus Paulie's shirt is makin me dizzy.

  • @Kazuyasan9999 Hahaha I thought I was the only one

  • I don't get how Vito was just an associate or a construction guy in season 2 and then all of a sudden he is a made guy and captain in seasons 3 and 4.... ok, people say it's not the same guy, but the same fucking exact actor plays this Vito guy because you see him ringing the door bell and talking to Beansie's wife when he goes to build the ramp.

  • @maddingo12 But the actor who played Vito Spatafore also played the fat customer at the bakery when Chris shoots the big mouth counter boy in the foot. I don't think the "nephew Vito" that Sil is talking about here is Vito Spatafore. It doesn't make sense. Vito Spatafore is a made guy. Why would Sil ask Richie to ask Vito to build a ramp? They see Vito every day at the Bing.

  • @ukkfayooyay Because Vito was a soldier in Richie's crew at the time (the crew that later became Ralph's, then Vito's). At the time, Richie was a captain, and Vito was a soldier under him (in addition to a descending relative). Therefore, Vito would be doing whatever the fuck Richie told him to do. Not really that complicated.

  • @Tokopol I suppose it's possible.

  • @ukkfayooyay It's not "possible". It's TRUE. Even in Season 6, when Vito is on the run, he is STILL practicing carpentry. Besides which, when people are getting clipped, their underlings get promoted fast. That's classic Mafia.

  • @maddingo12 lol maybe it was gino

  • richie was a great captain.

  • some one leave this cage open at turtle back zoo?

  • HMMMMMMM..... Ok... how about this.... Furio vs Richie - who wins?

  • sit down, for Christ sake

  • People like Richie never last long... Dead at his womans hands....

  • Look at paulie's face: Richie, hey, you're gonna build beenzy a ramp!

    hahaha i love that scene

  • Richie was a disgusting character. Excellent actor! I hated this guy with a passion. everytime he entered i went crazy :D

  • @texasB666

That's 'cause David Proval IS a great actor like that. :)

  • @Zeitgeist74 true true :) such a ruthless character.

  • Wait a minute, Vito was Richie's nephew?

  • @kanguesso different vito.

  • @ukkfayooyay Its not a different Vito... why bother even commenting if you never seen the show dumbass

  • this guy who played Richie was strongly being considered to play Tonys character at the start of the show according to David Chase !

  • @ronnied828 Vito the fag wasn't Richie's nephew, you pole smoking weasel-squeezer.

  • @ukkfayooyay

    Yes he was.

  • @osamabad Jackie Jr. was Richie's nephew. Tell me why you think Vito the Fag was Richie's nephew. Where's the backup for that?

  • @ukkfayooyay

Oh, really? Jackie Jr. was his nephew? Well, I guess that rules out the possibility of Vito being his nephew, seeing as that a man can only have one nephew. Lol. If you don't believe me, look him up. Now, what makes you think it's a different Vito?

  • @osamabad Jackie Jr.'s last name is Aprile. Richie's last name is Aprile. Jackie Sr. was Richie's brother. Jackie Jr. refers to Richie as his uncle many times. When is any family connection between Vito Spatafore and Richie Aprile ever mentioned?

  • @ukkfayooyay Why would Silvio and Paulie have to ask Richie to ask his "nephew Vito" to build a ramp if they were talking about Vito Spatafore? That Vito was a captain in Tony's family and was on the same level as Sil and Paulie. They wouldn't have to go to Richie to ask Vito Spatafore something.

  • @ukkfayooyay Vito wasn't a captain at this point in time. That didn't happen until sometime after Ralph died.

  • @ukkfayooyay

Vito was first introduced as Richie's nephew. Besides, not all uncles and nephews have the same last names. Chris is Tony's nephew. Is his last name Soprano?

  • "Your gonna build Beenzy a Ramp!" - Funniest line Ever!

  • Richie Aprile was the scariest character in the Sopranos. Total psychopath.

  • That Silvio would actually try and negotiate with Richie in that way (0:51) is hilarious, Richie being the guy he is.

  • "He has tremendous moxie for his size."

  • The more I think about it, the more I have a hard time believing that Tony could't see Richie's move against him coming. Then again, he did seem to have a hard time recognizing the uncontrollable elements in his family.

  • @jetelegen Ya I think Tony caused a lot of his own problems. At first there was tension between him and Richie. However, Richie tried to bury the hatchet and give him a peace offering by giving him that jacket. tony acted like a jerk so Richie got pissed

  • Paulie took Richie's insult because he knew that Richie was crazy and would have kicked his ass, Paulie was just an old and stupid man and lots of people were not afraid of him, Richie was crazy and old school and would do violent things to people over the slightest offenses, Beansie and Davey Scatino found that out firsthand, Paulie knew that he would be next if he pushed Richie over the edge.

  • shoping cart!

  • re: richie..there is always room for psychopaths but it is still a business and psychos cost too much.

  • "Build a ramp up to your ass, drive a Lionel up in there". WTF Great line.

  • Paulie vs. Richie is such a badass confrontation. Two old school mobsters who are total sociopaths.

  • @seekisforme5 Paulie vs Feech was even better.

  • @seekisforme5 Yeah, Paulie and Feech is another one. Those two are fucking nuts!

  • its funny that sil owns a public business the bada bing and struggles to find the word handicapped accessable

  • @Joefonzgoldenarms it's even funnier you pointed that out and couldn't spell accessible correctly.

  • @fambamuce lol yea

  • silvo was the consig and paulie was the underboss higher than a capo they shudve beaten richie to a pulp for the way he was talking

  • @AnkushB Which one was Tony's right hand man btw? I know it's off topic, but I hope it was Sil. He was good to Tony.

  • @jax252000 ther is no right hand man confident sil future boss chris guarddog paulie

  • @AnkushB Paulie wasn't the underboss yet he just became a capo at this point

  • "he's a shopping cart, from here on out." *smiles* haha, what a character!

  • A YOU'RE GONNA BUILD BEANSIE A RAMP!!!!!!!1

  • Comment removed

  • i'll build a ramp up to your ass... drive a lionel up in there...

  • Richie was the meanest motherfucker on the show.

  • No... say never

    He was fucking ruthless

  • Richie vs Paulie...... Epic

  • Awesome, my favorite Richie scene.

When he tells Paulie he'll drive a Lionel into his ass is hilarious. Sylvio's reaction is priceless.

  • Comment removed

  • Whats the song at the start?

  • Yeah Paulie's not used to people telling him off like that. Most people were afraid of him so were passive but not Richie.

  • does that mean sil agreed to a ramp up paulie's ass at the end?

  • he should have laid off Beanzie

  • HEY....your gonna build beansie a ramp :|

  • Tune into Shovio for RadioChicks special guest " Jennifer Mascia. With her book " Never tell our business to strangers"

  • richie was a real old-school guy .. didn't fear anyone and in top of that he didn't respect tony at all .. to me the best secondary character in the show

  • Haha Richie was a great character wasn't scared of anyone.

  • fuck if i were paulie i couldnt take it...i wouls have shot that motherfucker in the both knees right there.

  • I love the look on his face, like he's tryin to figure what car he would drive up his ass.........."maybe a caddy, na, a lionel!"

  • I'll build a ramp up to your ass.... drive a lionel up in there.... ahahahahahahahaahaha

  • lmao ill build a ramp up your ass

  • "Maybe while I'm over there I could... fuck his wife"...
