  • I often use gorilla glue mixed with sand, dirt or bark to cover my caches. It makes it blend in and expands to an unnatural shape. I think it's easier and cheaper. Thanks for the cool tips and the awesome ant hill idea!

  • great video HHH!!! Quick question please, I am looking at doing one of these for the first time however my location consists of many snowy and rainy days...I am just curious since you have just that LITTLE bit of styrofoam on the resin and it is spraypainted...will the rain take away most of that styrofoam and affect the paint job? will any paint stick to resin? Thanks!

  • Cool - even more things to think about!

We haven't placed our first cache yet, but we've got some possibilities we're looking into, and that might work very nicely at a couple of places I have in mind.

    Thanks!

  • @cynsayshi Awesome, let me know how it turns out. Send in a photo to my blog or email.

  • what kind of resin do you use?

  • @tsnyder1988

That was called Resin Epoxy and you can get that at many craft stores. Thanks for writing in!

  • Very nice. I think I'll be doing this...

You can get thicker blocks of Styrofoam with a finer grain at a craft store.... but that might be a little more expensive.

  • @JuryDutySummons I actually bought some and a 4x4x6 block ended up being almost $5US. That is a lot more expensive but it does have a finer grain to it.
