The audience is so fucking spacktarded D: I couldn't hear anything from after the end of the song! I'm glad the audience enjoy it, but to scream all over the dialogue is so ficking rude!
@harrycastle1 I don't think there was dialog after the song. Just King Arthur's "Gosh." The only thing that was obscured was the very beginning of the last verse (after he says "Papa can you hear me?!").
I respect him and he was really good but the audience is annoying as hell. This show is a comedy musical and not a concert at Madison Square Garden. I went to one show with Clay in it and it was ok in the beginning but after that, its annoying. I laughed so much but the others just screamed at every little thing he did. Well, at least i said it
I'm sorry, but he doesn't hold a candle to David Hyde Pierce who had much better timing and knew when to be over the top and when to add nuance. So glad I saw the original cast.
@tartfuel Clay Aiken sucks ass. He cannot stay in the same key when singing. He cannot play the piano. He looks and dances like a fag. I also saw the original cast, and I'm glad.
As an actor I can say that all this cheering is annoying...an audience is supposed to laugh and cheer after songs not every time clay moves. I mean jesus.
I believe this was recorded on the last night/performance of his run... so the audience was louder than usual and reacting to everything. And Jonathan Hadary had a great time encouraging it at the end .
Ok I loved the fact that Clay had devoted fans in the audience that night, but frankly the cheering got really old really quick. I kept saying to myself "Shut up people and let them continue the show!"

He can't sing for shit, anybody notice how he keeps deepening and raising his voice? He also can't play the piano as David Hyde Pierce could, its pretty irritating. What an actor downgrade.
@hevblade Well..uhm I am a David Hyde Pierce fan myself...but his "deepening" and "raising" is just an effect...nothing to do with Clay's singing talent...
The piano notes of that song just give a barely line to sing...the whole song is an interpretation..and he did it different then David...
Ok, I saw this with the original cast and it was just fantastic. During the first few seconds of this video I thought, why have they given the role to a woman? Then I slowly began to recognize that it was Clay Aiken, who I totally never liked. But I must admit, I was dumbfounded by how good his performance was. I am so totally impressed.
@Stephie2007 I think he would do great on DWTS but he said he wasn't sure if he would do another reality show. If they called, he might consider it. He claims he can't dance but us fans no differant...I think he knows it too.
This is my favorite character in the show by far, and I think both Clay and David Hyde Pierce are both fantastic. And I love this song and its Fiddler on the Roof Parody.
@Griwhoolda What do you mean by 'too much Clay Worship in this video'?? I have seen the show with the 'original' Sir Robin, David Hyde Pierce, and with Clay (4 times). They both did a fantastic job. The only difference between the two actors in this role-David is a fine pianist and was able to perform a classical piece when the piano playing was called for. Did you mean: 'too much Clay Worship from the audience'?? Should the audience have just sat on their hands and taped their mouths shut?
Wow I was there watching Clay at this Show!!!! The show was full of Clay fans who cheer on Clay and the Cast of Spamalot . Clay was really Talented and funny Too.
One of the Best show cause I have seen the Show like 26 times..I missed Seeing Clay as Sir Robin...What great memories..Love Love the Cast of Spamalot.
So fun to see this again! Loved Spamalot, the whole cast, and especially one Clay Aiken. He was a really funny Sir Robin -- and then there's that voice! love it! Thanks for posting this!
Thanks for posting this one! I saw Spamalot a couple of days ago, and although the man who played Sir Robin did quite a fine job, I couldn't help but wondering what Clay's take on the song would sound like. I have to admit that I much prefer this version, although I might be slightly biased...
Go see the show to hear dialogue. Besides, there was hardly any at the end of the song.
LittleBabyKittens 8 hours ago
I like David Hyde Pierce better, besides, he surely can play piano! The audience is ridiculous.

Thanks for uploading this. This song is different in the UK version of the musical so it's great to see the version from across the pond!

If I'm not mistaken, this was one if his closing nights. I believe that was when the king kept gesturing for him to take a bow over and over. LOL
This is classic! Thank you for capturing it. It would have been a shame not to have this!
