  • seems legit...

  • Oh and what/how would we get to the new concorse? i know its off i-75 but any spesifics?

  • @pokewiz309 It's I-75 Exit 239. Turn right at the top of the exit ramp and you can't miss it!

  • @AtlantaHartsfield thank you ^-^

  • How will this International Terminal Complex connect with the main Domestic Terminal for those arriving in the U.S. to Atlanta but need to transfer to domestic flights such as to LAX or Miami?

Train? Bus? Taxi? Underground Concourse Connector? Moving Sidewalks?

  • @garydunncolumbus The existing people mover, The Plane Train, has been extended to Concourse F, connecting it to concourses E, D, C, B, A and T. There is also a new pedestrian corridor between concourses E and F that features moving sidewalks. Thanks!

  • Can Concourses T,A,B,C,&D handle wide body aircraft ? I guess even domestic flights to places like Hawaii will be handled on Concourses E and F since those are long-haul on wide bodies?

  • @alberjs all of them can handle it

  • At current I have had to fly out and make some domestic flights out of Concourse "E". Will the new Concourse "F" be exclusively international or Mixed like the current Concourse "E"?

  • @alberjs Domestic flights will be scheduled from concourse F during non-peak international times. Thanks!

  • Will passengers traveling on a Delta international flight check-in at the international terminal or at the current South Terminal? Also, when Air France moves its check-in to the international terminal, will the South Terminal be used exclusively for Delta?

  • @audude08 All international carriers will be represented at the international terminal. Passengers with international flights will check in at the new international terminal. You can check with your airline for specific check in requirements. Thank you!

  • reminds me of RDU's terminal 2!

  • I know that Atlanta only has one Asian airline, Korean Air, is there gonna be something else than just one Asian airline in the future for Atlanta?

  • @EJ9108 All carriers are welcome! We'll let you know if there are any additions to announce. Thanks!

  • @AtlantaHartsfield Is the outside of concourse F going to have the iconic orange stripe or will the other concourses have to match the new concourse?

  • @BabyBang17datruth No, there are no plans at this time to make the exteriors match. Thanks!

  • Will the express lane (PeachPass) be able to access the airport exit on I-85 or not?

  • @EJ9108 No, they do not extend south of downtown Atlanta. Thanks!

  • Will foreign carriers currently serving Atlanta will move to the terminal once its completed or some will move and some will stay at Concourse E?

  • @audude08 International carriers will operate from both concourses E and F.

  • DId Atlanta Airport used to have All Nippon Airways but now they don't

  • @EJ9108 They do not fly here now. Not sure if they did in the past.

  • How will this terminal connect to MARTA?

  • @koldapu A designated shuttle will transport passengers from the arrivals level of the international terminal to the domestic terminal ground transportation center, which includes a MARTA train station.

  • Wow is that detailed...

  • atlanta is really modern

  • A380's will be coming to ATL? Really?! nice

I'm in L.A. and I love LAX coz it's got a lot of international carriers and A380s go there. I hope ATL will have international carriers as well especially from Asia like SIA, Cathay Pacific, Thai Airways, EVA, China Airlines...etc etc

Best of luck ATL. I will be back soon.

  • @MrCarlsson86 I hope Emirates also comes to ATL as well.

  • Just wondering, how will the exterior of the new terminal match the exterior of the other concourses? Or will there be some renovating of all the concourses in the future?

  • This is going to be the most advanced airport on the planet. The idea is great! Is the express way with global flags lined up apart of the International terminal, or is is that there now?

  • @polandpal97 The elevated roadway is part of the international terminal project. Once it's complete, the roadway and international terminal will be accessed from Interstate 75. Thanks!

  • Very Nice. Hopefully we won't have to recheck our bags coming home to ATL.

I think there is a good mix of some fresh stuff, but also keeping things very familiar and consistent with the rest of the world's largest airport.

Will an A380 be able to gate here?

  • @chazd13736 That's right! The baggage re-check requirement for Atlanta-bound passengers will go bye-bye when the international terminal opens.

Any A380's operating here will use Concourse E for the foreseeable future. Thanks!

  • @AtlantaHartsfield Will international arrivals at Concourse E for Atlanta-bound passenger still have to recheck bags if it still being used for int'l flights?

  • @audude08 Nope! If you're an Atlanta-bound passenger arriving aboard an international flight at Concourse E, you will process through passport control and collect your luggage on Concourse F. thanks!

  • @AtlantaHartsfield So, let me get this straight. Passengers arriving in Atlanta on an int'l flight into Concourse E will go thru passport control like before but there will be no baggage claim and customs at Concourse E. They will clear security at Concourse E and take the train to Concourse F and clear customs there and all bags will be check directly from the aircraft to the new international terminal. I am soo confused.

  • Will the new gates be able to handle the huge A-380 planes?

  • Well done video. The terminal, however, is as dull as dull can get. How uninspired!

  • @Poprocket911Thanks for the feedback. We think when you see it in person you'll have a different opinion. It's very impressive with views of the Atlanta skyline on one side of the ticketing hall and the airfield and runway on the other. Plus all the gates have tall glass walls that allow awesome views of airfield ops.

  • @AtlantaHartsfield a modern marvel KATL = SUPERPORT

  • Very nicely done! Really nice! It makes me feel like I'm actually there.

  • I flew a 767 from atl to boston how often does that happen

  • what terminal will Southwest fly out of?

  • The Ticketing and Backage Claim looks like souths terminal.

  • Will Concourse E be used as another Delta domestic concourse? Will it be all Delta?

  • @THarm688 Concourse E connects to the new international terminal and its 12-gate concourse. When the international terminal opens, both E and the new concourse F will work together as a 40-gate international travel gateway. Thanks!

  • @AtlantaHartsfield Thanks for the feedback. One of my favorite airports in the world is getting better. I never get tired of flying through ATL. You guys do a wonderful job.

  • Hi. I've got questions. Does ATL have direct flights to China or Hong Kong?

  • @EJ9108 Delta has a route to Shanghai. Check delta.com for more information on their routes to Asia. Thanks!

  • nice animation!

  • I see this building everyday when i go to work as it is right next to the Delta Tech Ops Building...looks pretty legit so far im sure it'll look even better once it is 100% finished!

  • where were the escalators heading for the new Plane Train station in the virtuel fly through?

  • So what airlines will be using this terminal once it is completed?

  • @BigSam3788 It'll be available to all carriers with international flights. Thanks.

  • Japan does not fly to ATL, they did back in the 90's though. Aeromexico is on and off in ATL. They serve Mexico City and Cancun every now and then. Air France runs 2 flights a day between ATL and Paris.

  • Japan does not fly to ATL, they did back in the 90's though. Aeromexico is on and off in ATL. They serve Mexico City and Cancun every now and then. Air France runs 2 flights a day between ATL and Paris.

  • Why didn't you include the new Plane Train station in the virtual fly through? Was it because it was too diffacult or you forgot?

  • @797fan Would have been good to include, but time is always an issue! Thanks

  • Any exact date on when the terminal will open (like 03/20 or whenever it will open)???

  • @dingdongditch1000 An opening date will be put out this summer. But, it is still on track to open in spring of next year.

  • Hi! I live in Atlanta, too. I've gone on an international flight from ATL to Tokyo-Narita the recent time. Got some questions, Does Atlanta serve Japan Airlines, AeroMexico, and Air France. Just telling you, Delta says that ATL would serve SYD (Sydney, Australia) Hope you'l reply back! Thanks! P.S. Like that video, too.

  • Does ATL have Japan Airlines, Aero Mexico, and Air France?

  • @EJ9108 Air France has daily flights to/from ATL.

  • I have some questions, does ATL have Japan Airlines, AeroMexico, and Air France

  • Double Jetways would have been a nice touch, especially for all the widebody aircraft. What is going to become of the current International Terminal? a new base for Delta or will it be shared amongst alliance partners?

  • @kj762aa The new international terminal and concourse will connect to the exisintg concourse E creating a 40-gate international travel complex.

  • I live in Atlanta and I've been on an international trip, too. I know they are building a new building for International flights.

  • it looks bigger than jfk... just wish i can go there =D

  • this is actually a strikingly good video!

  • Is the new International Terminal going to be used by Delta? Nice Video by the way!

  • @rflx21 The new international terminal will be available to all carriers. Thanks for the note.

  • @rflx21- No, not only Delta Air lines but for Korean air, british air, KLM, air france, and aeromexico, too.

  • i wish their was a videogame like this

  • I'm going to be making a connection here in 25 January going from San Antonio, TX (SAT) to Fiumicino, Italy (FCO)... Am I going to have to leave the domestic terminal to get to this terminal for my overseas Flight, or can I simply make the connection via the underground train? Assuming this terminal isn't open by then... My return flight to San Antonio, TX (SAT) from Fiumicino, Italy (FCO) will be on 06 May... Again, will I have to leave this terminal to get to the Domestic, or take the train?

  • @alberjs Sounds like a great trip! The International Terminal will be complete in spring 2012, so your flights will most likely be on Concourse E, the current international concourse. When the 12-gate International Terminal opens in 2012 it will connect to Concourse E via an extension of the Plane Train people mover, creating a 40-gate international travel complex.

    Thanks and have fun!

  • Besides being a nice new airport... this is really a neat computer rendering of the project... thanks for posting

  • A few Delta employees took a tour today of our facilites. We drove past the work site of the F terminal. The question arose concerning parking. Will there be long/short term parking available near the F terminal?

  • @MYSWEETNY1 A parking deck with about 1,100 spaces is being built right outside the new terminal building. It's visible at the :54 second mark of the animation. Thanks for the question!

  • What's going to happen to the old Int'l terminal (Terminal E)?

  • @dingdongditch1000 The new international terminal will connect to the existing international gates on Concourse E via an extension of The Plane Train tunnel and the pedestrian walkway.

  • @AtlantaHartsfield What will Terminal E be used for after the new international terminal opens?

  • I can't believe that I'm saying this, but I'm actually looking forward to someting in Atlanta. By the way, what's going to happen to the old Int'l terminal?

  • It's a beautiful building, but it doesn't look like Atlanta on the inside: We're one of the most culturally diverse cities in the nation, and the CGI team only seems to know how to draw white people.

  • @JoeDeRose We appreciate your feedback and will look to be more diverse in future animations. Thank you.

  • I can't wait to fly out of this terminal!

  • I'm travelling overseas later this week. Does Hartsfield-Jackson provide luggage wrapping?

  • @umdisc64 Yes, luggage wrapping service is available and located in south side of the terminal. Have a great trip!

  • Will there be an option multiple jetways for loading/unloading one aircraft such as the 747. Also any chance of seeing the Airbus a380 here anytime soon?

  • @ADDkiddo911 Thanks for the note. Dual jetways were considered but did not make the final design. As for the A380, it can be accommodated on a one-off basis, but we do not anticipate regular scheduled service for the super-sized airliner.

  • is the moving walkway going to connect to it?

  • @destawsom Yes, the international terminal will connect to Concourse E. Both the train and the pedestrian corridor are being extended. Thanks.

  • @thatsnazzyappleguy That's a question for Delta, but they may not know the answer at this point.

  • @AtlantaHartsfield ok, thank you

  • Question - If a INLT-FLT arrives on E concourse, with PAX clear US-IMM/CUS @ E then proceed to the new INLT -Terminal for pick up, or will all flight clear IMM/CUS at the new INLT terminal? Just to add, I'm so passionate about aviation and I hope after graduating with my masters in 2011, I'll have a job in the industry that is fullfilling. I enjoy watching these videos with regards to airport improvements and expansions. Continue with excellent job ATL and good luck with further construction.

  • @tedjay Thanks for the note. Yes, the Concourse E customs and immigration operation will remain in service when the international terminal opens for business. Best of luck for your career!

  • I have seen the construction when I have regularly flown to or through ATL, and it is a marvelous building. How did ATL forecast or determine the need for the new Int'l terminal? Would domestic flights also use the terminal during non-peak International flight demand as does Concourse E?

  • @wr1830 Thanks! By 2015, annual international passenger traffic at ATL is expected to increase to more than 13 million (up from 9 million in 2008). So, increasing international gate capacity was included in the city of Atlanta's year 2000 master plan. And, yes, the international terminal can handle domestic flights during non-peak hours.

  • This is amazing. Would the pilots of international flights beable to enjoy this terminal? Do all international flights go through this termianl? Will there be a place to "spot" aircraft from this termianl if your a non passanger?

  • @C172Flight The new international terminal will connect to the existing 28-gate international concourse creating a 40- gate international travel complex. And, yes, you will be able to see aircraft from the non-secured area. The departures hall features huge windows looking right out on to the apron. Thanks for the note!

  • I woudl book a flight from Amsterdam to Atlanta to see this :)

  • @YorranSlik We'll see you in about 22 months!

  • How will passengers arriving at the international terminal get to MARTA or the new rental car facility?

  • @rdrakea One option being considered is a shuttle service to reach the existing ground transportation center. For rental car customers, vehicles may be staged at the international terminal ready for use. But for now, we'll have to wait and see which options are determined to be the best. Thanks.

  • Now if only I flew internationally so I could see this terminal more. I'm definitely riding the train out to have a look when it opens!

  • It looks amazing, and it is definitely a facility worthy of a world-class airport like Hartsfield-Jackson. I can't wait until it's built!

  • LastXdeth said: I hope non-passenger can see the airplanes from the baggage claims.

  • @LastXdeth Yes, but not from baggage claim. You"ll be able to see aircraft from the departures level (ticketing hall), which is above arrivals level. Thanks.

  • That is really cool! I saw the display at the airport. You guys made the best of the best!

  • The new terminal looks GREAT! Now I want to fly through Atlanta when this is done just to see it. =D

    KATL #FTW

  • AWESOME!
