Your conclusion misses the point why I like anime; it's not about the 'killing of children' on itself; that is merely an archetypical example. Point is, in anime, they do not shun the darker side(s) of human nature and behaviour. It is therefore a more realistic, consistent and superior picture of the world they are able to use and show in any underlying story. With Western cartoons, it's rather the same old feel-good-do-good cosy-nosy political-correct happy-Hollywood-style... over and over.

Well, obviously - as one can see - the guy had some special powers. ;-)

And the boy had...brittle bones to begin with, let's say.

But I don't wanna give to many spoilers. Go and watch Birdy Decode 2; it's pretty good. Only minor thing is sometimes the art is bad quality during fighting or rapid action scenes. It remains fluid, but badly drawn in those instances.

But it certainly has it's strong points too, and I personally liked it.
