  • Its very hard for me to cry as well and i hate it! not even this movie made me cry =( . and it was such a sad movie! i felt pretty depressed after the movie but i couldn't cry at all. Even with the anime version =( ugh i hate that!

  • OK, I started watching this movie at my work, during the break... And felt uneasy after 20 minutes. I knew that, at some point, this movie is going to make me cry. So I came here to check out if my intuition was right. And it was. Darn, gonna pause this movie and continue watching at home.

Off to watch some Naruto or something... Gotta raise my fighting spirits. I'm at work after all! XD

  • The version I like came out about 1956 and starred David Ladd, son of Alan Ladd, and I think Donald Crisp as Grandfather. I believe the dog also starred as Old Yeller. I found a copy on Ebay. The 1999 remake must have cost ten times as much to make but somehow lacks the charm and feeling of the 50s version. I think it is one of the best movies ever.

  • were can i find this movie thr 1970

  • I watched this movie 2 times, and both times I cried. People help me find a link to the Anime version I really wan it!!!!! Please :'(

  • HEY WHERE CAN I FIND THIS original version of this MOVIE?????

IVE BEEN LOOKING EVERYWHERE. not the japanese and tagalog versions : (

  • Once you said 'he's dead' I started bawling right there.

    That movie never fails to make me cry ;a;

Even when I'm not physically watching it.

  • yea i can watch that movie without crying... Its really hard though.. soo sad.. i watched it today and i was crying on the inside.. such a sad movie!! T___T

  • clayton, what ever happened to made you so sad, crying is the best thing for this kind of situation who ever you are man or woman. And I used to watch フランダースの犬、when I was a child. But I forgot the story. So I might watch that again one day.

Thanks for your vid. Love nakonokonekonoko

  • <=o HUGS!

  • damn it they took that vid from the link down...

  • Hey there, saw your video. Is that not one of the saddest scenes ever? I only just found that video on YT three days ago, and after seeing this, I cried for a full two hours. A beautifully done scene it was, but also incredibly heartbreaking.

  • all of my friends say that I have no heart because i dont cry, I did not cry waching this movie, my friends think im the worst because i did not cry waching Titanic. its gust sad things dont make me cry. it kind of sucks.

  • Ok, don't cry, it makes the eyes sore... ...

Maybe go running, running and running, huh?

  • i will not cry

  • I love this movie!! I had no idea how said it was till my granny and I bought it. we were like ow a cartoon about a boy and his dog classic. buy the end we were crying and were like what did we buy it's so good but soo sad.

P.S a lil trivia the movie was based on the Flemish novel The dog of Flanders by Oui'Da and is over 130 years old it is so popular that the local Belgian Government of Flanders build a Statue dedicated to Nello (the boy) and Patrash ( his dog) in 1985

  • @JOECRIP2000

By the way. A dog of Flanders, is an ENGLISH (not Flemisch) Chistmas story . Ouida (no accent in it) is the nickname of Maria Louisa (de la) Ramé. Based on a ONE day impression Ouida got from a visit to the city of Antwerpen, in the year 1871. Realy: 1 day only. Mixed up with a complicated set of purely personal rants she had, right at that time. She depicted Flanders very negatively. because of her personal, dark condition.

    (See next)

  • @Wig4 ==continued==

Reason why the story was not known in Flanders until recent (the 1980-ies) is exactly because it was NOT a Flemish story, NOT a Flemish writer. Published in the UK, and shortly after in the USA, it was shipped to Japan and translated in Japanese, in 1908, in the year Ouida died. The story reached the conciousness of Antwerpen only because of the Japanese tourists, arriving there, to look after "origins of the story"... that are not there ! ;-)

  • P.S. If you have that much trouble sleeping, talk to your doctor about a sleeping aid. It puts stress on your body when you don't sleep, which is probably why you feel better after you cry. It gets some of the stress out.

  • Other good movies for a good cry on youtube. Plague Dogs and Watership Down.

  • Sounds depressing

  • It's alright man. I Cry at rocky movies.

    XD

  • Are you watching

    watch?v=-4UJqRNo0LY&feature=related ?

I wanna introduce you that there's another depressing anime titled "The Grave of the Fireflies pt1"...

  • yes Graves of the Fireflies is another VERY sad anime... also have you seen Barefoot Gen? thats another sad one.

  • Oh, I thought you meant the 1999 film adaptation with the "happy ending." Blergh! Yeah, the anime versions of "A Dog of Flandes" are all very tragic and heart-breaking. =D

  • Please, can you get me a source to watch the whole movie? T.T I wanna get emotional too Dx It sounds (and as you describe it) like a really sad story..

  • not bein mean buh i laughed my arse off watchin this gonna go watch the real movie now !

  • hahaha...i dont even know what to say...

  • i remember watching the dubbed version of The dog of flanders in the Philippines back in the early 90's

It was beautiful and very heartbreaking at the same time

    btw, u're too cute hehe

  • a dog of flanders made me so sad when I was a kid, I still carry the scar. I bled for Nello and Patrasche. I remember having a friend naming his dog patrasche and I scolded him and stopped talking to him until he changed his dog's name.

  • hhahahhaa amazing... you are mean with your gf! :)

  • oh crap now i remember the ending... oh great iam depressed

  • oh man, that story is so sad!!!

  • Damn.. that background music while watching your vid made me cry lol

  • I knew the time, i was a young boy with 15 years. i spend my time, wait for the series on tv. that was awesome and wonderful. but the end takes my fantasy, when i saw "Nello", german version called Niklas, died beside his dog Patrasche. my tears came out like a waterfall. i try to keep bake, cause behind me was my big sister and won't that she saw me crying, because i wanted be a hard boy, but it won't. since a some years past, we talk and she told me, she was crying too. very good serie!

  • i love the dog of flanders so much, im now working and i can still remember that movie,

    it really makes me cry

  • It is beautiful and a sad ending.

If the way of life without the lie was done even if it was not those who succeeded, the

god interpreted the last wish as realizing.

It might be difficult for the people who stick to the result like Europe and America.

  • Don't put Europe and America under the same hat!!

Europe isn't as heartless and superficial!

It's a british woman who made this story~ The Japanese just made it to an anime.

  • I'll never forget A Dog of Flanders. I watched this everyday back in 1995 before going to school. I cried horribly when I saw the ending.

    Wonderful story

  • I cried reading the bloody wikipedia description for A Dog of Flanders. I'm saving the anime for a special occasion.

  • TV version was see at five years old 1975 year it.

I can feel a true meaning of concluding the story as Nero dies when growing up in 1997 and seeing again.

Japanese who sees way of life.

  • NeLLO

japapese have difficulties to speak out the L correctly~

    Believe me it's Nello

  • LOL, the fact that you are dictating what japanese people are incapable of pronouncing is funny, because of you are addressing a native Japanese speaker.

backman is japanese but I guess you already knew that? LOL

  • NO!I was cry

  • The animated cartoon that characters die is natural in Japan.

The purpose of it is to think about

    the life deeply.

  • I feel the same way too. I've gone over the whole story. Just like the story of "Cedie", I couldn't stop crying each time I watch the video. They lighten my day, you know.

  • watch Hanada Shonen-shi and you'll cry even more

  • no shippuden episode 31 and 32 made me cry!

  • i'm emotional about a lot of things when the occasion arises. i cried watching A Dog of Flanders too... I also cried watching Nobody Knows (look it up if you haven't seen it, it's based on a true story that took place in japan)... no matter how many times i watch it, i still cry my eyes out

  • The thing is, your response to the ending is relatively tame compared to mine. I followed the link...

... and the waterworks were turned on instantly.

    It's that dog...

Late, I know, but I was going through your videos. O.O

  • Lool! You're my new god XD! I've just seen the movie in german (I think it's the version you're watching). My reaction has been the same too. When I was 8 I didn't cry with this, it's a little sad.. Great vid :D

  • gosh... we have very same reaction... though im more tyring to avoid coz im watching the ending of 'A Dog of Flanders' in an internet shop... it really makes me cry.. bring back the memory when i used to watch this when i was 9 or 11 years old.. then I saw your vid im half cried and half laughing at you... maybe what we make us cry is the music plus the ending of the very great friendship of Nello and Patrasche.

Thanks for sharing your vid. :)

  • There ia another Japanese version of " A Dog of Flanders". Both are wonderful anime. Also, try "The Happy Prince " by Oscar Wilde , also in You Tube

  • Nobody can resist!!! That's what I like about the movie

  • hahaha

  • I watched the anime when I was very young and the story gave me a such big shock, that I can even cry only by thinking and talking about it.

  • wawawawa

  • My parents get concerned when I do things to make my self cry....

  • try homeless boy Remi

  • watching Nello's grandpa die was when i cried

  • I shall be looking forward to "Using Grave of the Fireflies to cry"...

  • Watching you cry almost made me cry...and I've never even heard of the movie...I shall go watch it.

  • im glad to come across this vid.. brought back good ol memories.. i used to watch this when we were in the Philippines.. very sad yet very nostalgic..

so much for that.. good job on ur little experiment, i got to agree crying does make u feel better (even if u really not need to cry lolz) anyway good job

  • "A River Runs Through It" does it for me. You can objectify your need to cry and Youtube it. That's interesting and pretty awesome that you are comfortable that way. I could not do that. I always withdraw when I am sad.

  • Well... even though I'm a native german... my "cry border" is somewhere deeper. But still, very sad scene ;/ - However, I never saw this movie.

  • Yes, and I did, maybe because I don't understand German! but still, there nothing sad about it!

  • You are soooo funny!!!! Hope you get some sleep soon.

  • Either you're a very mean guy who trained to cry on signal or I can just pretty good comprehend your feelings on this movie.

    Interest experiment, too ^^

For me one of the few interesting yt-videos.

  • LOL that was the funniest vid ever.. even if it wasn't supposed to be LOL *add to favorites*

haha your gf is lucky to have a senstive guy that isn't gay

  • Ben Affleck

  • Do you mean I look like him? Or are you alluding to my running gag in other videos?

  • You look like him

  • I mean you LOOK like him.

    just a bit

  • thats what i thought

  • hhaha really, that was hilarious! :D

  • You shouldn't laugh at grown-men crying - it hurts their feelings.

    =P

  • shedevil you are ;P

  • Yeah.. sry. I'm a devil. Can't help it!

    Happy Holidays though ;D

  • A sweeet devil tho ^^

and Happy Holidays to you to ;P

  • did you ever see the movie??

    the movie is really sad

I have the movie here and I know when i'm gone look to it that I'm gone cry

  • lol

  • i am

  • watch my whitney houston video...( i will always love you live)

    Regards

  • are you saying Whitney makes you cry? If so, hardcore :D

  • Okay, you need to set your girlfriend's Wii attempts to some crazy music. Maybe you could be like, sitting next to her & crying at cartoons. Now that's an art film.

  • Dewy-eyes... do they have mint tissues in Japan? You'd surely feel like a million bucks after a tear-jerker movie and sniffle into a minty trenchant tissue.

  • nice man! Its not healthy to keep it in!
