IN my opinion, I think that Boutayeb did assist Skah regardless of what IOC or whoever ruled but then, it happened alm ost twenty years ago and the world has moved on. That said, Morocco has stagnated while Ethiopia and KEnya have advanced a great deal. Ethiopia is coming up too in the Steeplechase men and men's 1500m with Mekonnen winning th e World Indoors championship.
i think that moracco is good at shorter distances (800, 1500, 1600, and maybe the 3000) kenya and ethiopia are better at longer distances and steeplechase(3000 steeplechase, 5000, 10000, half marathon and marathon)

The guy in the video (Barcelona '92 Olympics) sprinting alongside Kalid Skah is Richard Chelimo the late. HE died of a brain tumour or something close to that. THe MOroccans should have been disqualified-Boutayeb and Skah because boutayeb had been lapped and contrary to IOC/IAAF rules, he assisted his countryman Skah yet, a lapped runner cannot assist another runner.

I'd definitely go with Kenya for middle distance, but for races such as 5000 and 10000 it's a fight. Morocco produces some great runners like El Guerrouj, but Kenya and Ethiopia are more consistent
i am nt sure if u are aware but Boutayeb did not actually win anything during the 10000m of '92 because he cheated with his teammate and they were both disqualified. so that only brings bad view of the morocans. if i were u i would remove that part of the video. the only one that u could be proud of is El G.
man if u have nothing good to say then don't say nothing. so ONE : Boutayeb won the 10000m in Seoul 88 in one of the best 10000m race ever in Olympics history. TWO : In 92 it's Skah who did actually won, yes he was disqualified on the same day but one day later the commission revised their jugement and officially awarded the gold medal to Skah (go check wikipedia) (and BTW it's another "Boutayeb" who was involved in this race)

And for Aouita there wasn't any great duel with a kenyan or an ethipian his rivals were british (Seb Coe and Steve Cram)

MrMiddleDistance.kenya is best in distance.we are talking about all long distance races 5000m ,10000m, marathon, cross country and road races.kenya is unbeatable in marathon and road races.kenya has won most of team titles in cross country than ethiopians. kenya mens has won 7 titles out of ten 5000m.and 3 times 10000m kenya is king.

Ethiopia is the BEST in distance. They won the 10k in the olypmpics the last 4 olympics. and the 10k in the world championships the 8 out of the last 9 times. Kenya is better at the 5k and more MIDDLE DISTANCE events but when you say DISTANCE its ethiopia.Hicham El Guerrouj was king of MIDDLE DISTANCE not DISTANCE. I know he ran the 5k but he was known a great MIDDLE DISTANCE Runner. Ethiopia is the best DIstance country

Ethiopia is miles ahead of Morocco. Even this year. They won about 3 gold medals in the indoors world championships in Doha, Qatar.
Ethiopians have won several marathons and half marathons this year. I am not sure about Morocco.
Ethiopia and Kenya are at par with Kenya having a slight edge. Morocco is way down.

IN my opinion, I think that Boutayeb did assist Skah regardless of what IOC or whoever ruled but then, it happened alm ost twenty years ago and the world has moved on. That said, Morocco has stagnated while Ethiopia and KEnya have advanced a great deal. Ethiopia is coming up too in the Steeplechase men and men's 1500m with Mekonnen winning th e World Indoors championship.

i think that moracco is good at shorter distances (800, 1500, 1600, and maybe the 3000) kenya and ethiopia are better at longer distances and steeplechase(3000 steeplechase, 5000, 10000, half marathon and marathon)

The guy in the video (Barcelona '92 Olympics) sprinting alongside Kalid Skah is Richard Chelimo the late. HE died of a brain tumour or something close to that. THe MOroccans should have been disqualified-Boutayeb and Skah because boutayeb had been lapped and contrary to IOC/IAAF rules, he assisted his countryman Skah yet, a lapped runner cannot assist another runner.

To summarize the argument:
Ethiopia seems to produce more athletes with better consistency and double/more gold medalists (Bekele, Gebre, Yifter, Bikila, Dibaba, Tulu etc...). Kenyans may have only one double gold medalist (Keino), but they have more depth, 800 to marathon, than any other country. For example:
At this year's world XC, Ethiopia took three Individual titles (would have been four with Dibaba), but Kenya swept the team titles.

It doesn't matter who holds World Records, Kenyans have won more medals than any of the three countries. It would take Kenya to drop out of the next olympics before Morrocco or Ethiopia catch up in the medal count. Kenyans rule distance running.

Overall, kenya are the best in terms of depth. Ethiopia have a few geniuses however in Geb and Bekele. When Bekele moves up to the marathon, it will be an insane battle against the olympic champion Sam Wanjiru. Distance running in London 2012 will be AMAZING!!!!!!

for every 1 ethiopian there are 20 kenyans . kenya dominates road races and marathons. after bekele, kenya will crip back again in 5 and 10 km. the % wins goes to kenya in every category. take alook at how many races kenya wins worldwide. ethiopain with much credit produces 1 or 2 runners and they use them in a smart way. kenyan runners compete in too many races and they burn up.

I'd definitely go with Kenya for middle distance, but for races such as 5000 and 10000 it's a fight. Morocco produces some great runners like El Guerrouj, but Kenya and Ethiopia are more consistent

i am nt sure if u are aware but Boutayeb did not actually win anything during the 10000m of '92 because he cheated with his teammate and they were both disqualified. so that only brings bad view of the morocans. if i were u i would remove that part of the video. the only one that u could be proud of is El G.

man if u have nothing good to say then don't say nothing. so ONE : Boutayeb won the 10000m in Seoul 88 in one of the best 10000m race ever in Olympics history. u both are confusing, the brahim boutayeb who won the 10.000m in seoul88 was only 21 years then , he is not the one who run the 10.000m of barcelona92, that one called hamou boutayeb, and brahim did run the 5.000m in that olympic of barcelona and finished only fourth..he was talented but he didnt stand longer in athletics as Aouita, Elguerrouj or even Sekah

Once again... Kenyan runners are good at mid-distance and will hopefully win gold in the 800m and 1500m and they will win in 3000m S.C.
Ethiopia will win th 5K and 10K races. For the Marathon I have high hopes for a Gold medal. Neither Kenyan's or Ethiopian's dominate this race. We will wait and see.

In most if not all mid to long distance running Ethiopia or kenya holds the records, each country has won more gold and medals altogether individually than Morocco. Morocco could be lond third but believe Ethiopia and Kenya are without a dought number one and two.

actually i don't agree. in men's long distance running it is more balanced. let's do the maths :
-morocco holds world records in 1500m , mile and 2000 m
-ethiopia holds world records in 5000m, 10000m and marathon
-kenya holds world records in 1000m, 3000m and 3000m steeple chase
so it's 3 world records each, perfect draw :)
in women's however i agree it's all for kenya and ethiopia

thx for ur comment. actually yeah the Slayer intro fits perfectly with the finish of Skah (especially the drums accelerating when Skah gives the last kick) but that was not really done on purpose it just turned out like that haha. And for Aouita there wasn't any great duel with a kenyan or an ethipian his rivals were british (Seb Coe and Steve Cram)
