  • your voice bored, I go from here

  • Were you born in Yugoslavia?

  • Is it possible to do with the guitars the same thing you did with the bass? just record a clean guitar sound and then use guitar rig to get the tone?

  • @damienro0 yes

  • Cool Video, how did u record your guitars? Wot did you use? Hope you can help me with this!

  • @damienro0 line 6 pod, read the description

  • uploader comments*

  • You voice isn't audible on LQ, because on one speaker the phase of your voice is reversed. On LQ the sound is mono, so it cancelles itself out. By the way: It's very exhausting listening to it on HQ...I had to mute one channel...

  • Sonar Home Studio 7?

  • just out of curiosity what kind of audio interface are you using to get your guitar into the comp?

  • @rockon3691 He already mentioned that in the video. He's using Native Instruments Guitar Rig 3

  • Wouldn't be too hard to get a similar sound to the bass in meshuggah especially in their latest album since the bass player is actually using a MESA Rectifier guitar head to get the sort of top end cutting sound he has.

So it only makes sense a "Gratifier" head was used bass the amp.

  • thanks for the vid. now I will be looking for a crack to get this program for free

  • When you did the corssfade I figgured out my left speaker is blown. I can't thank you enough haha.

  • wow. ur voice sounds like round panned or something. kinda threw me off. lol

  • i have ezdrummer and i just downloaded drum kit from hell but cant find it in the ezdrummer how do i find it and get it in the ezdrummer thanks...

  • what effects did you use in guitar?

  • Excellent tutorial. I have virtually the same process as you. I usually compress and use the virtual space add on for general EQ, then I add the boost 11 normalizer to the master, and give it a master EQ, then pan bass and snare drums center, rhy hard sides and everything else like toms ect...wherever they don't clash..

  • Did you use guitar rig 3 for guitars?

  • stop talking about bulb!!!! haha djent is all about picking! nuff said... who is this talking on this video is it fredrik?? anyways meshuggah rule and my band has massive influence from them... so check us out and let us know what you think if you want.... you may end up finding a new band you like! wich is always nice in this genre! search Era Untold on myspace music! cheers!

    Ben

  • @EraUntold You kidding me? did you really think this has something to do with meshuggah?

  • wheres that accent from?

  • france maybe, if you look at the band members in other vids they have french names

  • Most definitely a Finnish accent

  • Take a look at his profile. Finland.

  • good buen trabajo que program usas el guitar rig 3 ? amplitude ?? our waves arts guitar?? im give una me-50 booss

  • You can record guitars also with this? Or did you use something like the POD or something?

  • I recorded the guitar tracks with POD. Only the bass has software based amp sounds.

  • Djent is mostly a double octave powerchord that is more sonically present than chugs and such. Check out insomnia by periphery/bulb. That intro is djenty.

  • A Djent is an "afterwards" muted single note(not palm muted)

  • I trust Bulb more than you.

  • "Hitting the low string on a guitar, but then "palm muting" or "finger muting" the string straight after it has been hit." This term was invented by Meshuggah. Doesn't get simpler than that...

  • Yet again, I trust Bulb more than you and still say you're wrong.

  • Misha said the same thing as I, so we have no problem anymore :D

  • I do not claim to be right, but what you're describing here sounds like it could be described with one word: Staccato.

  • Yep, it's also a staccato.

  • Would you then agree that this tutorial ain't that djenty?

  • LETHARGICA ftw

  • i cant find ezdrummer under soft synths. what do i do?

  • It should be there if the ezdrummer dll file is in your main plugin folder/on of the folders. I suggest you find out and for example copypaste the ezdrummer.dll file from your ezdrummer dir to your vst plugins folder, start your host program and scan the plugins all over.

  • Best thing about this turotial is, the fact there isn't one Djent in this video. the riff has no djent in it.

  • Hey Kodoku, I use 5 guitars MAX, that is left, right, and lead guitar left right, then maybe a solo over that, or a soft picking underneath there. However, already using 4 tracks for both left and right x2, it seems it always starts to sound more messy than thick.

    Your thoughts?

  • Well, I actually got the idea from LordHines420. I could take a POD X3 and run 2 signal paths on top of each other but because the lack of gear I just had to experiment with it my way.

The individual tracks have less distortion than usual (with the normal stereo rhythm layout) and I tweaked the volumes near my 2-track equivalent.

Indeed it would sound messier with my usual amount of distortion.

  • Ahh i see!

Thanks for your reply, this will def help me out to give it a more clean sound =)

  • dude i nearly cant hear what you are saying , voice is too low.

  • Increase your master volume. I think it the volume is reasonable or at least I have no problems with it.

  • I forgot to ask my question... D'oh! Can I upload my user-created beats and midi files i created on EZdrummer into Superior Drummer 2 without having to re-write my beats?

  • Yeah, you can pretty much do that too. I programmed my drums with EZ on this session and when I loaded Superior it worked straight with the midi track. So the samples are mostly on the same midi keys.

  • I just bought EZdrummer with the Drumkit from hell add-on. i cant wait to get to town on it. I also have superior drummer, but i want to mess with EZdrummer first to get some idea of what the hell im doing.

  • ur split mix idea on ur bass track is similar to like i was saying about how i get my guitar tone from the X3 using one patch for the high end and another for the low. cool.

  • Well, actually I owe you the split idea overall. I tried to get that midrangy sound for the bass track similiar to what you can hear on obZen.

  • u mean, i had a good idea? yaaaay :) hehe. but i never thought of trying it on the bass. im still knew to recording bass and finding a good bass sound. but ive been messing around with guitar tone for a long while now, so it seemed kind of easy to try that and find a good combination, but for bass, i dont know yet.....

  • thanks alot man! awesome tut

  • thank u!

  • ur welcome. part 2 coming right up!
