this is NOT a wilburys song. it's solo petty. Ringo didn't even play the drum track. Jeff Lynne (produced) and George Harrison are the only people who had anything to do with this song. check your facts before you post something up!!!
The slide guitar solo; the sparseness and simplicity of the arrangement....Sometimes, OFTEN times....less....is more! I always thought this was a Heartbreakers song though. (As in Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.) GREAT song though!
The guitar player is playing George's guitar "Rocky", that's why it's got that symbol. In fact all three guitars he plays look like George's ("Lucy" for one).
Beatles just Kill me.Brings back so many memories!! I was thinking how the Stones were so into American black soul blues also.We steal from each other. It's great.
George Harrison found it amusing not to make a Volume 2,because he wanted to create a Myth, for fun, something for the geeks to find. When Volume 3 came out,Roy Orinsons wife, not happy as he was dead, that it still be called Travelling Wilburys, got a ban on the sale of all their music. You are right about the bootlegs,You can get great stuff from Russia,Vol,1,2,3,&4,silver Wilburys, loads of it.I think you may well be very almost very right about full moon fever, but Mr.sOrbison certainly placedNOSPACE
I had no idea this was done by the Traveling Wilburys. I always thought it was Tom Petty and Heartbreakers. And yeah, It drove me nuts forever till someone told me there was never a volume 2. Great music.
Oh my gosh Ringo really up staged the guys for sure in this video, but then again it doesn't take much of his goofing around to amuse and please me, which is also why his my favorite Beatle, lol.
Hey you know what I have the same question, and I cannot find out from Wikipedia or anywhere who it is, but here's my theory, and it is freaking weird, but I reckon it is Ritchie Blackmore. Anyone else know for sure?
DerekNS74 gives a plausible-sounding reason why this is a Wilbury's album, but it's not; it's a Petty solo album. Look it up.
Lynne produced, Harrison and Orbison do contribute a little, but there's no Dylan in this effort. (Ringo was neither a Wilbury nor the actual drummer on this track.)
Nevertheless, good tune and who cares, right? Looks like they had fun making the video. My guess is it was thrown together with Petty's musical friends who were available for the day's shoot.
definately tom petty and the heartbreakers! anyone who tells u different is an idiot! just cos lynn is playing guitar doesnt make it the wilburys numnuts!
@housty49 dude, I hope 49 doesn't signify your birth year because I suspect your demented because I'm 20 and I can even tell it's not the heartbreakers...geoff lynn and george harrison on guitar, ringo starr on drums...its some hybrid band but definitely not the heartbreakers
@housty49 Dude, you're demented...how can it be the heartbreakers when there's geoff lynn, george harrison and ringo starr in the clip...I'd love to give you a kick in the balls for being such a tard
@berdan94 actually its the wilburys because when the wilburys were coming out with their first album...tom was finishing Full Moon Fever...and the wilburys were on this track with them...as you can see some of the members from the wilburys are on the video like Jeff Lynne and Bob Dylan...
Wilburys Volume 1 were * "Nelson Wilbury" – George Harrison * "Otis Wilbury" – Jeff Lynne * "Lefty Wilbury" – Roy Orbison * "Charlie T. Wilbury, Jr." – Tom Petty * "Lucky Wilbury" =Bob Dylan
The Traveling Wilburys of Volume 3 were: * "Spike Wilbury" = George Harrison * "Clayton Wilbury" =Jeff Lynne * "Muddy Wilbury" =Tom Petty * "Boo Wilbury" = Bob Dylan
2007 Collection * "Buster Sidebury"= Jim Keltner * "Ayrton Wilbury" =Dhani Harrison
Traveling Wilburys of Volume 1 were: * "Nelson Wilbury" – George Harrison * "Otis Wilbury" – Jeff Lynne * "Lefty Wilbury" – Roy Orbison * "Charlie T. Wilbury, Jr." – Tom Petty * "Lucky Wilbury" – Bob Dylan
The Traveling Wilburys of Volume 3 were: * "Spike Wilbury" – George Harrison * "Clayton Wilbury" – Jeff Lynne * "Muddy Wilbury" – Tom Petty * "Boo Wilbury" – Bob Dylan * "Buster Sidebury" – Jim Keltner * "Ayrton Wilbury" – Dhani Harrison
No, just kidding... Wilburys, supposed to be a family in which every member of the band was part of it, they all had stage names ending in Wilbury, Roy Orbison was Lefy Wilbury...
Ringo Starr played in the "I Won't Back Down" video, but a different drummer is listed on the album (Jim Keltner). Theres no use denying the fact that it is indeed Ringo we see in the video, theres no doubt about that.
Actually, this "is" the Wilburys. There was a traveling wilburys volume 1, and a volume 3. This was in the middle. They never named an album volume 2 because Tom Petty's Full Moon Fever involved so many of the members that they considdered it to be volume 2. I'm sure there are at least a few morons who will say I'm wrong, because they have Vol 2. That's a bootleg. There was no album named vol 2. There was vol 1, full moon fever, and vol 3.
@beatlegreg07 you should check your information becasue ringo did not play on those session. Jim Keltner one of the bigguest STUDIO Session drummer (Recorded with George Harrison, Ry Cooder, Little Village) is the drummer on both on the album and in this video. He is known to always be wearing aviator, something he is always teased about.
For the record he does look alot like Ringo. Take a look at this page you will see a picture of him ringo and levon helm from the band.
@DerekNS74, Travelling Wilbury's Vol 2 was cancelled because of Roy Orbison's passing. They decided to just do the next one as Vol 3. Around the Wilbury's time ('88 to '90), GeorgeH released Cloud Nine ('87), Tom Petty released Full Moon Fever ('89). Jeff Lynne released Armchair Theatre in '90. I owned and loved all of these albums back in the day.
@DerekNS74 you are correct sir. Althoughbeit it's labled on the shelf as a Tom Petty Albumn, they consider it that. Someone mentioned Mike Campbell on the slide. Yeah, it is, however, he was attached to this project as well. Alot of the songs on full moon fever were written by Petty, were they not? Campbell is his song writing partner, is he not?
They Actually Named It Vol. 3 Because George Thought That It Would Make People Think "What The Heck?!?!?! Where's The Second?" I Was Just Meant To Be An Inside Joke For The Band.
@DerekNS74 umm, wrong! thats just george being george as always. the traveling wilburys had nothing to do with FULL MOON FEVER. Jeff lynn produced it. but, that about it.
No this is not the Wilburys. This vid actually came from a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers collection of vids etc called 'A bunch of videos and other stuff' (i think that's correct) that came out in the 1990s (I used to have a copy on VHS). On guitar is Mike Campbell (of the Heartbreakers) and I think it was Jim Keltner who drummed with the Wilburys, at least in the videos.

Sure Lynne and Harrison back him up on this song (as does Ringo), but that dont make it the Wilbury's. Not quite. Volume 2 this is not.
