  • I was thinking of getting one of these, and the "no battery" feature is amazing. However, for the price and what you get, I would prefer it to be a little brighter, no? Do you find it to be a bit too "dark" in most situations. I mean, that's the plus of the battery operated ones; you can adjust that brightness....as for this one, it's pretty much reliant on the decay of the tritium.

  • @em613 The sight also uses fiber optic. As the ambient light increases, the reticle gets brighter - it adjusts to any light condition from total darkness to bright sunlit snow.

  • Thanks for posting. I saw this on Mako's site and came here to see if there was a vid demo. I'm sold.

  • nice rig

  • I was thinking of running a Mepro on my SLR 106, but using an Ultimak rail so it would sit a little further up, but a lot lower, in your comments I noticed you removed the Mepro from this AK, were there pros/cons of this placement?

  • @PaleHorseWC2 It wasnt the mepro light ,it was the rail. I have since purchased a mako vfr ak 47/74 rail and place it on my slr106fr. I still have the samson rear sight rail on my akm and have mounted a ITAC Defense RDS-1 sight on it. The sight sits lower than the mepro light and works excellent. I will get some new vids on the subject soon along with my Draco SBR project.

  • yeah I try to get a video up of a few other thins I have as well. and btw im really loving your videos so keep up the good work!!! Your doing a really good job.

  • hmmm honestly its not really my idea of a good mount. I mean if the sight sits that high, unless you have a cheek piece you cant get a good cheek weld on the gun which mean you're gonna have to train to get used to not having a cheek weld on while firing. also its gonna make things less stable since you cant set your cheek on the stock.

Another thing to mention you cant really co-witness your irons with your dot sight

I'll try posting a vid of my tavor, i know its not the same platform tho =P.

  • @omegaboostZ Thanks for the feedback. I have since placed theprolight on another platform. Honestly when it was mounted on the AK, i was able to shoot with the sight mounted that high. I would love to see the Tavor rifle platform. I will post a new videos soon.

  • Thanks for posting this!

  • nice the iron sights were much easier to see than i thought they would be.

  • @FixedByDoc They are very visable in total darkness. I will get a vid up in total darkness. Thanks for the feedback Doc.

  • very nice

  • @gunsnsilver Thanks for the channel support.

  • Dude good choice on the Meprolight. That is a damn good sight. You may want to investigate other mounts to lower the height. Youre going to find after you zero that you will end up have a problem with the height over bore ratio and have to do alot of compensating for the difference, But a damn good choice.

  • @scdefion Thanks for the channel support. I should get out this weekend to sight it in.

  • Sick. lemme knkw how well it holds zEro!

  • @jaybeesworld Will do. Thanks for the feedback.

  • That sight look high as hell! Hows your cheek weld using that?

  • @xAZAZELx13 Its actually about as high as the scope mounted on my arsenal with the side mount. I can say its no longer a cheek weld but more like a chin weld for the sight. The iron sight is still along the lines of a cheek weld.

  • @darque29 I like how you can see the irons from underneath. That mount is pretty innovative!

  • very cool, i lke it alot, thanks for the update

  • @lahar29 Thanks for the channel support.
