Hi., I have this amp, but it's broken if somebody could help me by sending me a pic of the power amp section (RG75-B) board to see values of R29 and R30 would be great, thanks
I have played in many cover/original bands over the years. Until you are rich ? Stick with solid state or amp modeling technology. You dont just buy a tube amp and switch tubes when they wear out. If you have a good ear, you will notice small tone changes in tube amps. And you MUST have a competent amp tech that you trust in your area. I did a club tour with a Randall solid state rg-120 with a Boss GT-8 plugged into it. Set it on British stack and it sounded great !
@PutridDonkeyOfficial It's most likely the fact that a solid state amplifier will NEVER sound as good as a tube amplifier and that the stock Randall cab sucks. If you've got the money, get a 6505+, it's a no-brainer, but this amp really isn't bad for what it is.
hey man nice amp!I noticed you have a smaller amp on the back..is that a line 6 spider iv 15w?im asking because i got the spider iv for my first amp and now im on the market for a half stack...i was about to buy the marshall ma100h but now that i saw your vid im reconsidering.. the RX120RH sounds much better than the ma100 for metal...and MUCH cheaper! So if i jumped from the 15w amp to the randall would i feel like about to COME in my pants??if you know what i mean...soundwise!!thx in advance!!!
should i get this half stack or a peavey 6505 combo? I'm thinking the Peavey because it's tube and I dont know if this half stack is of the best quality.
please, answer this question, i'm looking into buying one of these from all the youtube videos i've seen, but could you play a venue with it? like a small one?
Is that a headphone jack I see on there? I really want this amp but a headphone jack is kind of important for me at times. Anyways amp sounds great, and nice playing
Nice sound. Are you running the Metalcore through the clean channel, or is it working with the overdrive? I'm thinking of getting this amp and maybe the metalcore would go great with it.
@jk47hm4 it really needs a noise suppressor pedal, The crate I haven't got to mess with the settings too much but I've play a show threw my friends crate and it has horrible tone, it's a lot of harsh highs like 15 watt practice amp, at lest to my ears. And the Randall is big, deep and tube sounding the overdrive channel isn't the best. but if your use pedals I like it better the peavey valve king in ways. I've heard many good things about b52 but it will still need a noise suppressor pedal.
@Ben8nz It turns out the feedback depends on the cable. I used a different one like right after I sent the first comment and it sounded almost crystal clear..
so i know i am going to buy that pedal and i was looking for a good amp for it to be used with for when our band plays and i know this is the amp ima get lol
hey im curious, does this head have 2 outputs to make it a full stack? cuz im thinkin about buyin this amp, id just like to know if i COULD expand it later on if needed.
Im thinking of investing in this for a technical melodeath project, I'm gonna run it through a Schecter Blackjack with Seymour Duncan JB 59 (switching to a possible EMG 81 60) and possibly through a distortion pedal. I tried it once before and I dug it, but is there anything else that would be more suitable at this price for that style?
im thinking about getting this amp and your demo of it is pretty appeling. i know that for playing at home, pratice, or small volume levels that it has good tone, but would you say it has enough juice to play small (high gain/metal) shows with-out a pa miked to it? since it's soild does it lose tone and quality at high levels? (also, all effects and distortion is done through my pedals so i'll be using nothing but the clean channels)
Havent playd that amp yet so im not sure, what kind of shit are you into, if your playing metal then it would work for classic stuff but if your more into the newer shit id say throw a pedal infront of it. But over all its a really good amp
Yeah without boss ml-2 sounds bad...I have it all like you but it don't sound so good like yours becouse of your guitar...ESP rules!!! I must to change pick-up s in my ibanez
itz a good idea to put the metalcore pedal and the head amp together BUT performance wise, i don't really think itz reliable enough-- it would jus b a pain in the ass changing from distortion to effect pedal to effect pedal nd it'll cost a little more than just having the head amp as ur distortion--- i do have a metalcore pedal nd it sound fine by itself w/the use of an equalizer which in particular, the usage of the head acts like the equalizer for the metalcore pedal to create tht sound...
hey do u think this amp would be suitable for post-grunge rock like breaking benjamin or does it make a more metal sound? i was wondering whether this amp or the rx75dg3 wud make a better overdrive sound?

can someone help me, lol should i get this or just buy the rg50tc to replace my f'ed up mg100hdfx on my cab? this whole thing is about the same price as a rg50tc head, but the rg50tc is all tube so im kind of leaning towards that
Hey, anyone wanna help me? Im in a Grindcore/Hardcore metal band and i need to uprade from my crappy Behringer GMX212. I was concidering getting this Randall or a Peavey Windsor 100w Stack.
go witht this, it has nice low end, but chrisp at the same time. Chuck from Death used these for years, but you can get a huge range of sound out of them. especially if you play a pedal through the clean channel
You play in a that kind of a band and you consider buying a Windsor?? You can get a 60s and 70 rock n roll distortion out of it, but not more. get a Randall RH 150 or RH300, theres the amp for you. I tested the RH150 today, and im gonna get one soon.
hey i'm pretty convinced about buying this amp. right now i use a marshall 100dfx combo amp. and i need a half stack for my band. and i heard randall is great for metal users. which is what i play. but i wanna be able to put LOUD without the feedback or the hum. so is it becuase your using a dist pedal or is it the pickups on the guitar? if it is the pickups what kind are they? just so i know becuase i dont wanna buy any kind of noise gate thing.
Just my opinion, Marshall has always been a extremely popular brand and i know first hand why, I also know first hand that Line 6 is great, but if you want something that's gigable, go with something Celestion loaded.
yes and DONT use a distortion pedal it takes its randall tone away and no distortion pedal sounds as good as the distortion on an amp. i would just get the amp as is.
well, i'm a drummer but i know my way really well around a guitar too. A weak halfstack is still enough to power pretty well over a loud drummer (cause i am one). Even a Line6 Spider2 100w solid state head can mix well with me, and i hit my shit hard too.
I guess I was meaning when it turns up does the distortion sound like clipped dog shit like some cheaper amps or is it clear, cause for the price I'm digging the tone on this amp.
pretty much any show, i mean like chances are the bigger the show ur most likely to get mic'd, but ya i play this thing on half volume at shows..its loud
yeah, i need a good amp (im searching a peavey 5150 or 6505 head used) my gear is this: Warlock whit SD Invader, ML-2, DD-6, NS-2 and TU-2 (i have others pedals/guitars but this is my setup that i used with my band) and my amp is a combo Laney LC30... in live i used an POD pro rack and Mesa Boogie strategy with marshall 1960 cab (all loan)
thanks man, yeah I do but then again the EMGs in the LTD are old as fuck so I'm going to upgrade soon, but yeah Noise Supressor is in order. Well over all the ML-2 is has more low end than any other pedal I've tried/had(Boss MT-2, Metal Muff, Digitech Death Metal, Digitech Metal Master) which maybe a bad thing for some but for others it may be to their liking. Overall the ML-2 is good if your going to play drop tunings.
"ok, i got the ml-2 and in my opinion is a great pedal, better than MT-2, Uber Metal, etc... but the problem is that when i play to high volume (loud) i can listen a little feedback and the pedal sounds like a phaser (not much, just a little), i never use this pedal for live performances because this problem that im trying to describe. do u know something about this problem??? do u noticed? also the pedal is a little muddy too..."
you get feedback, did you use a noise supressor like your reccomended?
i've used it live, it sounds good man, i like the sound of it, but then again it all depends on your amps eq setting, that makes or breaks your pedals sound i.m.o
no dude... the ML-2 is """""DIGITAL""""" (read the back: "This Class B digital apparatus...")?????
i mean this fucking thing is more expensive that other ANALOGS PEDALS like the MT-2 fucking zone or my EHX Metal Muff (best pedal for old-school metal, fuck yeah)
do u know something about this????? do u have any problems with that shit????
also boss releases a new pedalboard call ME-70 and this fucking pedalboard has the ML-2 incorporated.... fuck
This thing sounds like it has tubes but it doesn't.

You play in a that kind of a band and you consider buying a Windsor?? You can get a 60s and 70 rock n roll distortion out of it, but not more. get a Randall RH 150 or RH300, theres the amp for you. I tested the RH150 today, and im gonna get one soon.

But I have a Metalcore pedal for that, but It's no big deal, i got this amp : )

hey i'm pretty convinced about buying this amp. right now i use a marshall 100dfx combo amp. and i need a half stack for my band. and i heard randall is great for metal users. which is what i play. but i wanna be able to put LOUD without the feedback or the hum. so is it becuase your using a dist pedal or is it the pickups on the guitar? if it is the pickups what kind are they? just so i know becuase i dont wanna buy any kind of noise gate thing.
jlennozchin 3 years ago
yeah man its was the pickups in the guitar that caused the feedback.

hey can someone help me decide on an amp?
i play mostly thrash/death metal and like really crunchy distortion.
i was considering the Marshall MG stack, Line 6 Spider III HD150, or this Randall stack.
can someone help me choose or recommend any other kind of stack?
freddy032593 3 years ago
i would recommend the Line 6 or the randall they hare high gain and built to last and the MG100 is shit haha

acctually i just burnt out my spider 3 150 watt its such a shit amp....
paintsuxs 2 years ago
randall all the way
LordOfThisWorld74 3 years ago
Just my opinion, Marshall has always been a extremely popular brand and i know first hand why, I also know first hand that Line 6 is great, but if you want something that's gigable, go with something Celestion loaded.

hey im looking at purchasing this amp.
i play in a hardcore band and was wondering if you thought it would be suitable for such kind of music.
cheers.
essendon000 3 years ago
its good man, just get a decent distortion pedal for it.
DrifterTrueno 3 years ago
yes and DONT use a distortion pedal it takes its randall tone away and no distortion pedal sounds as good as the distortion on an amp. i would just get the amp as is.
grindingaxe 2 years ago
How much hum come from the amp?
project8sk8er 3 years ago
With my other guitars there is no hum at all, its just this one.
DrifterTrueno 3 years ago
Sounds good but how loud can it get can it mix with a drummer, I mean a drummer who hits his shit hard as a mother fucker?
TheCapstanShanty 3 years ago
I haven't tried but should be able to do the job
DrifterTrueno 3 years ago
well, i'm a drummer but i know my way really well around a guitar too. A weak halfstack is still enough to power pretty well over a loud drummer (cause i am one). Even a Line6 Spider2 100w solid state head can mix well with me, and i hit my shit hard too.
TitsMcAssh0le 3 years ago
I guess I was meaning when it turns up does the distortion sound like clipped dog shit like some cheaper amps or is it clear, cause for the price I'm digging the tone on this amp.
TheCapstanShanty 3 years ago
yeah it does sound reeallyy good for the price.
TitsMcAssh0le 3 years ago
i play shows with this thing on 5
dupadupadoo69 2 years ago
How big of a show you think you can play with this?
MIkeCampbellCKY 2 years ago
pretty much any show, i mean like chances are the bigger the show ur most likely to get mic'd, but ya i play this thing on half volume at shows..its loud
dupadupadoo69 2 years ago
yeah, i need a good amp (im searching a peavey 5150 or 6505 head used) my gear is this: Warlock whit SD Invader, ML-2, DD-6, NS-2 and TU-2 (i have others pedals/guitars but this is my setup that i used with my band) and my amp is a combo Laney LC30... in live i used an POD pro rack and Mesa Boogie strategy with marshall 1960 cab (all loan)
INFERNO6SIC6 3 years ago
yeeeahhh... brutal tone dude....
but you need an NS-2 (noise supresor)...
so whats your opinion about this pedal??? and how do u compare this pedal with the insane distortion of your line 6 or others pedals???
INFERNO6SIC6 3 years ago
thanks man, yeah I do but then again the EMGs in the LTD are old as fuck so I'm going to upgrade soon, but yeah Noise Supressor is in order.
DrifterTrueno 3 years ago
"ok, i got the ml-2 and in my opinion is a great pedal, better than MT-2, Uber Metal, etc... but the problem is that when i play to high volume (loud) i can listen a little feedback and the pedal sounds like a phaser (not much, just a little), i never use this pedal for live performances because this problem that im trying to describe. do u know something about this problem??? do u noticed? also the pedal is a little muddy too..."
sorry man didn;t mean to erase.
DrifterTrueno 3 years ago
yeah i agree its a good pedal.
you get feedback, did you use a noise supressor like your reccomended?
i've used it live, it sounds good man, i like the sound of it, but then again it all depends on your amps eq setting, that makes or breaks your pedals sound i.m.o
DrifterTrueno 3 years ago
i love the pedal....
but the ML-2 is digital, right? dont believe me... read the back
INFERNO6SIC6 3 years ago
I'm not sure if the ML-2 is digital, do you mean digital sounding like the line 6 amp distortions?
DrifterTrueno 3 years ago
no dude... the ML-2 is """""DIGITAL""""" (read the back: "This Class B digital apparatus...")?????
i mean this fucking thing is more expensive that other ANALOGS PEDALS like the MT-2 fucking zone or my EHX Metal Muff (best pedal for old-school metal, fuck yeah)
do u know something about this????? do u have any problems with that shit????
also boss releases a new pedalboard call ME-70 and this fucking pedalboard has the ML-2 incorporated.... fuck
