People think collapse is going to happen like in the movies. Collapse is a very slow decline and people continue to not see the signs. Businesses are closing, every 6 months I see 2-3 businesses close. Now all I see are empty buildings everywhere. I see homelessness at an all time high. More people are shopping more at the thrift store and goodwill. I have 3 cousins who can't find a job and a couple uncles and aunts who have to come out of retirement to pay the bills. This just did not happen. Show me where this is taking place. GDP numbers are out, quarterly earnings reports are out....what am I missing? He is wrong on why and when. Why can he not just admit it? I am cool with predicting that a collapse will happen. I am not cool with trying to forecast any dates for this collapse. I think it takes away from those who try to set dates. My wife always asks me when collapse is coming because I am the one who studies this..... my response is always the same.... Collapse is actually happening every day, slowly all around us. We all know and see this. Don't wait for some big catastrophe. Be as prepared as you can now and don't put off any plans.
@Postcarbonman I agree on giving dates, however I post videos here from others that I deem credible because alot of people think the collapse is off in the distance somewhere. In reality it could be tomorrow. No one knows for sure. But when someone says a date and gives a valid reason, we should watch carefully as the date approaches. If this type of thing hastens preparedness they were putting off, at least they are more prepared today than yesterday and that my friend is a good thing.

We've been conditioned by movies and television to expect some quick apocalyptic collapse that results in Armageddon; cities burning and complete lawlessness. The reality is that we are at the very beginning of a period of extreme economic stagnation. Yes, you need to prepare, but prepare work harder than you have in the past for less. We've all consumed too much relative to our output. It must slowly be paid back.
This guy contradicts himself quite often. Quarterly earnings reports cannot be fudged? Now his site has a list of four signs that a company is fudging its quarterly earning reports. He says total economic chaos after quarterly earning reports are out but then says later on a radio show economic collapse is a slow gradual process. Wheels coming off completely in July???? So the fudging of the reports will be the excuse of why his predictions did not come to fruition.

There is no one particular thing- the Japanese economy with its knock-on effect, a Greek default, an American default or general social and ecological breakdown: it's everything taken together.
When this video came out I too thought that he was wrong to make these predictions. However, as time has gone by just about everything he said would happen has happened. Nothing is going to happen overnight - he said that in "Collapse" but there is no doubt that collapse IS here, and has for a while - it's a process, rather than a particular moment in time. Ruppert is talking about a moment when we no longer be able to deny what is occurring.
I understand he is only trying to get people prepared for what is coming, but putting a specific time frame on it is a foolish thing to do. If he is wrong (again) his credibility will be shot. People will listen to intelligent people like mike who can guide them without the big doom predictions. Guide them dude and leave the predictions to the Harold Campings of the world.
I like Mike. He is on point a lot, but all the doomsday predictions come and go (including Harold Camping's). It's not that an economic collapse is not going to happen. It's just that our government will prop this thing up for years. The only way it will come about in U.S. is if China, etc. withdraws support. They hold our future in their hands. As for Japan, "they" have been very convincing that it will not affect the global economy.
Ruppert is a smart man but he dropped the ball here. What happens if his timing is off? He loses an immense amount of credibility. Losing more and more of his audience. Collapse is coming but I think it will hold off longer. Late 2012 is my guess but that is just as guess. But by this summer, I don't think so.

I just finished talking to 2 guys who work at the Toyota plant in Tijuana, Mexico. They said the the plant in Tijuana is shut down right now due too lack of parts, that's why they're here in San Antonio, Texas to work at the Toyota plant here where they make the Tundra & Tacoma.

My mom and I want to move one town away to be with extended family to pool resources and prepare some at least, but we can't afford a deposit or a U-haul, our rents are half our income, should only be a 1/3, and like you say, I don't see it getting better either. Its all part of the plan, I'll pray for u!

I can see where he is coming from, and I agree. This is going to create a large impact on our economies stock, and we can expect a collapse. But at the same time, though Japanese Companies can not supply goods, and is at a stand still, what is left of the American Industrial companies will grow because they will be supplying for the demand on the lost goods, hopefully this increase will create jobs. Sadly the loss of stock will do more harm then good for America's financial industry.

I know i have to take account for the bankroupt on iceland but then again that was after the bank crack in US. There will be an economic collapse (probably in the form of a currency crisis) in the next few years, but timing it to the quarter or even the exact year is really tricky. There are just too many variables.
They said we were going to collapse last summer. A collapse if it happens will mean a restructure and probably a cashless system. everything valued much less.
I guess people will have to wait and see this summer if the another big drop or crash happens. If it doesn't happen in the next few months, then probably next year or so. However at the same time, the big crash could happen at anytime...scary times, VERY scary times.

Traditionally the stock market is a discounting system. It discounts the future against today. So at least in the traditional sense you are wrong. It wouldn't be three months at most a few more weeks while they work through the new reality, and for the most part the discounting would already have happened. In reality the cheerleaders go ra ra ra and the market goes up. Fundamentals don't mean as much today as they should. The market will be looking past this by July and on to new problems.

His prediction in this video is based on quarterly earning reports and negative global GDP would have immediate reactions sending the economy into a complete state of pandemonium no later than July. This just did not happen. Show me where this is taking place. GDP numbers are out, quarterly earnings reports are out....what am I missing? He is wrong on why and when. Why can he not just admit it? I am cool with predicting that a collapse will happen. I am not cool with trying to forecast any dates for this collapse. I think it takes away from those who try to set dates. My wife always asks me when collapse is coming because I am the one who studies this..... my response is always the same.... Collapse is actually happening every day, slowly all around us. We all know and see this. Don't wait for some big catastrophe. Be as prepared as you can now and don't put off any plans.

In reality it could be tomorrow. No one knows for sure. But when someone says a date and gives a valid reason, we should watch carefully as the date approaches. If this type of thing hastens preparedness they were putting off, at least they are more prepared today than yesterday and that my friend is a good thing.

We've been conditioned by movies and television to expect some quick apocalyptic collapse that results in Armageddon; cities burning and complete lawlessness. The reality is that we are at the very beginning of a period of extreme economic stagnation. Yes, you need to prepare, but prepare work harder than you have in the past for less. We've all consumed too much relative to our output. It must slowly be paid back.

This guy contradicts himself quite often. Quarterly earnings reports cannot be fudged? Now his site has a list of four signs that a company is fudging its quarterly earning reports. He says total economic chaos after quarterly earning reports are out but then says later on a radio show economic collapse is a slow gradual process. Wheels coming off completely in July???? So the fudging of the reports will be the excuse of why his predictions did not come to fruition.

When this video came out I too thought that he was wrong to make these predictions. However, as time has gone by just about everything he said would happen has happened. Nothing is going to happen overnight - he said that in "Collapse" but there is no doubt that collapse IS here, and has for a while - it's a process, rather than a particular moment in time. Ruppert is talking about a moment when we no longer be able to deny what is occurring.

I like Mike. He is on point a lot, but all the doomsday predictions come and go (including Harold Camping's). It's not that an economic collapse is not going to happen. It's just that our government will prop this thing up for years. The only way it will come about in U.S. is if China, etc. withdraws support. They hold our future in their hands. As for Japan, "they" have been very convincing that it will not affect the global economy.

Ruppert is a smart man but he dropped the ball here. What happens if his timing is off? He loses an immense amount of credibility. Losing more and more of his audience. Collapse is coming but I think it will hold off longer. Late 2012 is my guess but that is just as guess. But by this summer, I don't think so.

My mom and I want to move one town away to be with extended family to pool resources and prepare some at least, but we can't afford a deposit or a U-haul, our rents are half our income, should only be a 1/3, and like you say, I don't see it getting better either. I can see where he is coming from, and I agree. This is going to create a large impact on our economies stock, and we can expect a collapse. But at the same time, though Japanese Companies can not supply goods, and is at a stand still, what is left of the American Industrial companies will grow because they will be supplying for the demand on the lost goods, hopefully this increase will create jobs. Sadly the loss of stock will do more harm then good for America's financial industry.

Traditionally the stock market is a discounting system. It discounts the future against today. So at least in the traditional sense you are wrong. It wouldn't be three months at most a few more weeks while they work through the new reality, and for the most part the discounting would already have happened. In reality the cheerleaders go ra ra ra and the market goes up. Fundamentals don't mean as much today as they should. The market will be looking past this by July and on to new problems.

This applies whether you run large deficits or not.

I don't watch any network tv news. it's all controlled lies. I'm sure there are hidden funds all over the place. if all these were added up, they still won't pay the interest and the principal of the national debt. it's all about control, always was, and always will be. @msungs it has nothing to do with obama it astounds me how few really kn ow anything about economics. the US has a large stake in almost all large corporations they are sitting on TRILLIONS. read teh CAFR you will see that they do not include this in the financial statement they give out to the ignorant masses. it is a show for the fools. they are creating an illusion so we will demand a change.
