Truman's a war criminal for authorizing the dropping of the bombs? Conventional attacks on Japan's home islands would have caused unacceptable loses numbering in the millions. It is naive to think that the American people would have accepted the loses of its soldiers when another option available? The bomb was a horrible option. But in the end it shortened the war and saved lives, both American and Japanese.
