  • as the lessons progress the views get fewer...tragic.:)

  • @madwolfG They must not be very determined haha :D

  • this is amazing, thank you, thanks to you i will improve my tecnich of wing chung, thanks a lot honestly

  • Hi i learnt wing chun 2days agos. i mus admit this is useful counter. i defeated the sch previous fighter which is my partner. master , is there any ways that i dont start and can attack him? This lesson my partner said that when i grab the hand , he still can attack o0. so how i counter back him o0.he is MMA fighter. he say he wan learn wing chun =D.

  • when hes behind, he said "So i can do what ever I want with him"

hmm....... something just appeared in m very sick mind

  • When Fighting master wong, his ass kicks you!

  • this is awsome. Thank you.

  • This is a variant of the footwork used in Aikido to enter to the rear of a partner.Only danger for the instructor is that in stepping the across the centreline of the partner you can risk possible collision.Basically Irimi [entering ] into a opponents attack [off the line of the attack]then Tenkan [ turn and control opponent from rear.

  • but shouldn't get cornered ;)

  • awesome move if you get cornered

  • I always thought that wing chun, being a centerline style, always moved straight, rather than taking a side step, which is more of a circular motion. Can someone help me understand? Im not a martial artist, or an expert. Im just interested to know.

  • Centreline is just an imaginary line running through the centre of the body.

The idea here is to achieve centreline dominance. Imagine an arrow pointing straight out of your chest perpendicular to your shoulders.

By side stepping in this way your arrow is pointing to his centreline, but his arrow is pointing in the direction of his attack - not at your centreline, nor in fact pointing anywhere near your body.

  • This allows you to strike easily with all your limbs in a straight forward way direct to his centreline, whereas he can not attck yours.

  • One of the 3 principals in WC is to not fighting with force, you need to avoid force by getting onto the blink side without compromising your CL.

Mast. W is doing exactly just that, although he keeps on going round to the back, genrally once you're on the shoulder area you can very much hurt yr opponent.

    Hope it helps.

  • you should find some books or diagrams. what they show is you and opponent begin with the same centerline, he attacks your centerline and you move to the side, your centerline now has changed, but still directing at him while his centerline is now empty. it's much simpler than it sounds. simply step away from an attack and counter from the new position.

  • Our history say's that Wing Chun was derived from the best (most economical)technics of many Kung Fu styles.

  • I wouldn't be surprised considering WC is also from (as sources have indicated) Shaolin. Its easy for many kung fu arts to use each other techniques.

  • Fighting is like dancing if you can both you're a superstar :)!

  • your comment makes no sense

  • nice move

  • Technique IS Wing Chun. The art was developed by a woman and fighting "toe to toe" is a liability! Many arts have this technique not just Bagua...

  • master wong do you know aikido?

  • wait... this technique can't be wing chun...

this seems more like Bagua .__.

  • Yes this techinque seems like Bagua, BECAUSE IT'S ALSO A STYLE OF KUNG FU of course. Many different styles may have some similar techniques, especially if they're from the same region.

  • rou gan?

  • this is ba gua but there are a lot of similarities in various styles. the most important feature in this video is how he makes clera that getting out of the way and off the direction of each strike, by itself, is really important. without blocking or whatever just avoid (or intercept) the direction of the incoming strike

  • cool move. Does Sifu Wong know you are posting his videos? I wonder does he condone this.

    Cool vids though.

  • ahh Pan Nam footwork.COOL!!

  • Master Wong, you are the man. Wot happened to the swearing? Thats my favorite part lol. No nonsense just straight teaching. Awsome

  • Show your respect to him.

  • I like his teaching style clown. It was no disrespect so ease up. He's funny like my teacher.

  • I thought you made fun at him cause he swears :D

  • in my style(hung gar) its 70 on rear leg and thirty on front leg. i think it the same for wing chun.

  • just competted grade 2 and now have more understanding cos able to watch master wong over and over again cheers

  • do you mean you've completed grade 2 taking private lessons or from His Videos ? and which series/videos is that ? Thanks.

  • Oh hell yea, this is just so cool!

  • It is the little details that separate desaster from success.

Whoever wants to meet success and has the chance should certainly train with Master Wong! I followed his online lessons from the beginning, and it improved my understanding of how to apply Wing Chung greatly.

No nonsens teachings. The man knows what he is doing.

:-) & bow to master Wong

    bow

  • how much weight should be on the lead foot /leg vs the rear?

  • its a debate amongst some Wing Chun schools. here its 70/30 (front foot) I think.
