Why don't all these so called scientists try and break some bricks?Do a video with your theory in practice, and prove these demonstrations wrong.I find it funny that there isn't any videos like that.
Instead of multi ULTRA thin like ultra thin condom thin bricks, why not just take a piece legit 3' granite and show us some stunts. because this obvious looks like your little mom can do
@RamboBramb0 I suppose you haven't yet taken a science class. If you break about 4 of that brick sheets, the rest will just break by the force impact that is done to that 4 bricks.
@TheFanofFPS You are trying to make your argument sound scientific but you don't know shit about those bricks and the force that guy is putting in to breaking them
@RamboBramb0 I haven't done this but a friend of mine has done this. well I'm pretty sure any UFC fighters that are at least 150 lbs can easily do this
We can not say tekwando is the best all matrial arts have the same beginning and all styles have gog things.what we can say is that martrial arts is better than boxing :) xd
lol...the two ppl arguing here...isnt it obvious that it of course is physics and also strength & technique involved? dont u still need force to break those things..
@zxcv73 Yes it is. But breaking just one of these with your knuckles requires good conditioning and technique. Not just anyone can do it, so don't belittle what Shihan did. Some people fail to break all the blocks, which means they did not produce enough force to cascade them to the breaking point all the way through. Shihan broke 15 blocks that came up to his chest, so he didn't have the same momentum as breaking 3 or 5, which means his force had to be much greater.
Like I said it doesn't show how tough he is, just how well he can use physics. If he broke a single board against the grain, that would be impressive. But this is just macho bs.
@zxcv73 You're not listening. Physics will only take you so far. Breaking bricks like these required conditioning and proper technique. I've seen people fail to break one. He needs to be strong enough to break the first 4-5 on his own so that there is enough force delivered to the rest of the bricks. If it's pure physics, I'd like to see you do it. So put up or shut up.
I understand it isn't that easy and takes practice, but ive broken boards with ease with palm strikes, with the grain. I doesn't take much effort, just accuracy really. I'm saying if it isn't plain physics, why can't he break a single board against the grain. It sounds much easier then 15 blocks to me, So why can't he or anyone else actually do it? Answer: its physics, not strength. If it were just strength and conditioning then a single board against the grain would be easy.
@zxcv73 Boards and cement bricks are very different in terms of the skill it takes to brea, though the physics is the same. Main difference is you can also break your bones on blocks. Children as young as four can break wood boards. I'll be the first one to agree that the technique of breaking blocks involves where to hit, but idk what you're saying about grain. The cement blocks we used were solid construction blocks right from our Sensei's work, shorter than those shown and I didn't see grain.
Some years ago there was a Karate Demo in San Diego and there was a stage for various masters to show their techniques. One master set up a steel plowdisc bow side-up on two cement blocks. Well he hit that thing and broke it in two. So shut the hell up about this being fake.
The main essence of Karate is not at all about defending you and your family from unwanted guests... this is a modern idea brought up by tv movies.
Karate is about being in peace with yourself and your surroundings. Karate is respect. Karate is never to attack first. Karate is practicing hard and not rating down other people. Karate is a good attitude versus life's stings. Karate is to develop skills, both phisically and mentally.
@edraith well agreed but i'm not into karate spiritual thing so i know only to practice this lovely sport for my defense.
i have seen a KEMPO KARATE MASTER WHO AFTER STUDYING IN JAPAN FOR 5 YEARS RETURNED TO INDIA AND GO TO HIMALAYAS TO LEAD A LIFE OF A RECLUSE MONK CANT UNDERSTAND WHY ??? HE IS STILL YOUNG.
@edraith really? well, but then why did the greatest karate master trained himself to beat other martial art institutes? Please don't try to make Karate something more than what it actually is. Because what you obviously said is just a bunch of BULLSHIT. Karate is about defending yourself. Karate is a martial art created for a fundamental purpose.
@RamboBramb0 Karate is about being in peace with yourself and your surroundings. Karate is respect. Karate is never to attack first. Karate is practicing hard and not rating down other people. Karate is a good attitude versus life's stings. Karate is to develop skills, both phisically and mentally.
@ruebuscm It's all about the status in wich you consider the developing of martial arts. Karate essentially derives from chinese practices of Chan Buddhism, wich were both spiritual and physical excercises aimed to the development of spiritual oneness with the universe. But those excercises were even aimed to develop seld defense skills. So I do not have a short answer here.
@edraith yes, i get this value when i watched the japanese movie titled "Kuro Obi" or Black Belt. The first value of karate, according to that movie, is that there is no first attack in karate. The strongest karateka is one who can dodge best. I took some time to understand this. But, it is true that who can dodge well is the one who can take advantage on opponent's movement. Each strike will give "hollow" area, and the best karateka is the one who can take best advantage upon that hollow area.
@andrebading Yes and no. Muay Thai is not the OPPOSITE, but it is focused on pure supremacy in fighting, in beating your ENEMY to save your life and your country... Karate and Muay Thai have very different phylogenesis and history, and is really impossible to discuss about this topic in five hundred keystrokes.
@edraith Which is good, because as a fighting style, Karate is weak. Of course ALL eastern martial arts say they focus on peace, discipline, and being at one in body and mind.
@Patriot1389 I said Karate as a fighting style is weak. Sure the guy in the video is strong, and has good technique and can do an impressive trick breaking that many bricks.
But against an experienced fighter, someone who is in good shape, been in many fights, and has trained in a variety of fighting styles, a straight karate practitioner would have their ass handed to them (know this from personal experience).
@EzioFirenzAuditoreda Tameshiwari is breaking techniques, or displays of breaking ability. It is a demonstration of martial art ability, not a martial art within itself. That it is a Japanese word, the man is a Shihan which is a Karate rank, and the fact that he is wearing a Kyokushin style short sleeve Karate Gi, and that he is using a downwards dropping Hiji Uchi which is a commonly practiced Karate strike, from a tradition Karate Sanchin Dachi meant it is a Karate demonstration of taweshiware
true good saying and all but if that elbow came crashing down on you you would never be able to fight back again. cant deny that it has a lot of power behind it
ur right, it's really impressive. heck, i can't do it. but then again, like you said, those spacers help a lot. i don't think people realize how much they do. but, like i said, i can't do it. mad props.
its impossible to break it without the spaces. Humans cant produce that amount of force to break something like that. That is why we arent the strongest beings on this planet
It's not so much the gravity. It is the fact that the gaps allow for "flex" to compound the break. The first one breaks, allowing the power to be transferred into the next brick, then the next, and so on.
It's not so impressive to break bricks in general. It's impressive that professional competition breakers are able to maintain the proper ammount of force to continue the break to the final brick after the last however many absorb the shock and lessen the power of the strike.
The people who jump while breaking bricks are using gravity... not much power. Most people who do a type of martial art can produce enough force to break a few bricks... Jumping can double or triple the number because your adding your body weight on top of it.
of course you do. Putting space in between makes the job ten times easier, since each tile has a weaker vulnerable point in its middle. Breaking the tiles with no space would be similar to smashing through a solid single block...and that would be impressive!
