I can't say anything too bad about Wal-Mart since my mom works there it doesn't pay amazing wages but it allows her to support her family as best she can including her broke mooch of a college student(me) and plus the place from where I stand really isn't as expensive as other stores here in Chicago anyway. honestly I don't like walmart- but it's cheaper. I go into a mom and mom hardware store and they want $3 for a single 3 inch adhesive number for my house. I need about 4 to put on the fence thus $12. I go to walmart and they're 75 cents a piece. What's killing mom and pop places are prices. Walmart is cheaper so people want to save money :( Even dunkin donuts went out cuz they wanted $2 for a donut where as a dozen is a little more than that at walmart :( sad but true :(

@hkfan1980 the reason why Wal-Mart can sell at those prices is because they buy in large bulk quantities for chain wide locations making the supplier give Wal-Mart a better price for the same item... as well Wal-Mart pays the supplier after they sell the product or at a set period of time after making them able to keep large amounts of stock whereas have time to pay for the product after most of it sells...

it's not corpations it's the capitalist ideal that is killing small shops
