An AL-3000/3100 is pretty much on par with an Epiphone Elitist, minus the pickups. But an Epiphone Elitist costs a lot more. You can get an Agile and stick in better pickups than a Gibson and it would still be less. I've heard that you should avoid Chinese Gibson fakes. Also, the Agile has an ebony fretboard which feels much nicer than the rosewood on the Gibson.

THAT IS SO TRUE! I demo'd my first gibson guitar @ gutiar center and the rosewood was so uncoftable haha :o but it sounded awesome on the marshall nonetheless

@bugabutu dude to be honest with you if you want tone better than modern made gibsons and that destroys any epiphone. TOKAI has your back thier made in japan and made just like the old gibsons. i have a tokai les paul custom wich has everything the gibson custom has including the ebony fingerboards. better tone the the 2008 and up gibsons
