@SBClayColonial44 Troy never played against LSU. He was a Senior the year we played Florida. He hasn't gotten a chance yet, but when he does, he could be a legit NFL starting QB.

I was at that game (I am both a buckeye and irish fan) and it was a much closer game than the score and stat line show. ND was still in it with 2mins to go and Quinn through an interception during the 2min drill. Might be why some didn't think so highly of him...that plus his next year was not that much better. The 2005 ND team was the best since 1993 (2006 was worse).

Notre Dame has hardly been "Notre Dame" since Lou Holtz left in '96. I read somewhere that Notre Dame has averaged like 7 wins/season since Holtz left. ironically, i think "blindly irrational" is the general osu sentiment towards the fiesta bowl. certainly i won't deny that osu's offense cleaned up with nd's defense, but the way you talk you'd assume osu blew them out by thirty. notre dame was in it for most of the game with a late TD sealing it for osu. had some questionable (notice i'm not saying "wrong") calls gone the other way, the game could have turned out differently.
Going far... Another overrated ND team getting into a bowl they wont deserve to be in and having it handed to them again... Im sure you'll be real proud of that.
The only way they'd play is in a bowl game, and given last year's Fiesta Bowl beatdown helped ND tie the record for most consecutive bowl losses ... yeah, not so much.

Angle aside I think Zbikowski is FAST!You would be blind to deny that. I am sure Ginn is faster(even though that wasnt my point). Hell, i have seen him play all of 2004 at the Horseshoe.

Wrong domer. He was ahead of Ginn to start with. There is no such thing as "the agnel" either. At an angle versus straight, you have further to go. Players get caught because the defender is further upfield than they are.

Not to mention its only Charlie Weis' second year coaching and second BCS bid. Find another coach who has had more of an immediate impact. Took 4 years for Pete Carrol to win a championship. You know the inevitable is coming and Jimmy Clausen the #1 prospect in the country will be breaking every NCAA passing record at Notre Dame. ND, USC, Michigan and every Flordia school get too much love from pollsters. ND by far is the worse. They win a game against a cup cake, and people are screaming ND #1. Weis is a genius, Quinn for Heisman! It's pathetic. ND won't join the Big 10 because they got destroyed by the Big 2. The score may have been close in last years Fiesta Bowl. But the Bucks put more yards on Notre Dame than any team in history.

One last thing if Quinn beats Troy Smith and wins the Heisman it will have nothing to do with his ability. It is because he is the ND QB. He is not better than Smith. Ignorance? If I recall, Championships in 1968 and 2002 = 2 championships in 40 years for Ohio State. Ohio State has kicked ND's butt the last 3 times they've played. Head to head, following last years win, Ohio State holds a 3-2 margin over the Irish. The last time Notre Dame beat Ohio State was in 1936.
And as to your claim of the College Football hall of fame being in South Bend? Very true, but guess what? It was in OHIO first!!! Only been in Indiana for the past 2 or 3 years I believe.

Point taken about preseason rankings not meaning much of anything. Historical example: out of the last seven times ND has been ranked to start the year, they've ended up unranked at seasons' end five times. Present example: 47-21, Michigan over #2 ND.

ironically, i think "blindly irrational" is the general osu sentiment towards the fiesta bowl. certainly i won't deny that osu's offense cleaned up with nd's defense, but the way you talk you'd assume osu blew them out by thirty. notre dame was in it for most of the game with a late TD sealing it for osu. had some questionable (notice i'm not saying "wrong") calls gone the other way, the game could have turned out differently.

Ginn is a pretty fast guy, but he's not going to excel as a pure WR, he should be playin' CB. We all know the ND defense had some weaknesses, but the OSU offense made some nice plays. Will be a good game down in Austin next year.
