My friend comitted suicide and i want to lucid dream because i want to talk to him one last time to tell him everything that i should've said but im scared of nightmares and what not. What if i cant wake up? :o
That are some great ideas. Hope to be able to test the synesthesia, the being a cloud/rain and the shapeshift dream myself. And the questions and replies part was really inspirational, really resonated within me
My technique to lucid dream (Still starting out experimenting can't really control it yet) Wake up in the middle of the night. Listen to meditation music or lucid dreaming brainwave music for about 15 minutes. Go back to bed constantly tell yourself you are dreaming, and that you are the creator of your dream. As soon as you sleep you will find yourself in a new dimension. Works everytime. Remember to record your dreams. I don't have to record mine because they are so vivid.
I'm going to learn LD. For now my goal is to remember at leas one dream every day. I can remember up to four dreams now , a day! And in abou 2 weeks I will try to do it for real!
In my first lucid dream I nearly burned down IKEA. And the IKEA I was at was like a giant garage sale. I also put a roof on the place because I always have this feeling that gravity will suddenly reverse. Even when awake. I GOTZ PROBLEMSES!!!!
@mrLouishater First of all, you need to believe that you can do this.
Then, you can try the WBTB method since it's great for beginners - it's basically waking up during a REM cycle (the most ideal time is usually 6 hours after you fall asleep), staying up for some time while focusing on dreams and your LD goals, then going to sleep again with the intention to become lucid.
This makes your brain as awake as possible, and dramatically increases your chances to become lucid.
Hi, im 13 years old.. And i really want to do all of those stuff you said here.. I hate a lot of things in real world and a lot of people (mostly my class) and i want to experience a world where i can do anything i want.. I have no idea how to do this and im not rich or anything so i cant buy those dreaming devices. I really want to experience this so can anyone help me?
@YansiEvre98 Lucky you are so young. You will be able to recapture your imagination really easily. Practicing making things up is very important. All of creation begins in the mind. @heimencnc1996 Yes, and you don't need as much practice as you would expect. Best to make up an imaginary girl though -- because attaching sexual thoughts and feelings to a non consensual being has bad effect for both of you. Consider this; the experience you are after is not actually in the external object. The experience is in the one who experiences. How would an orange taste if you had no brain?
@satsumamoon OMG!!!! so true, thx alot for the advice, i luv the orange reference, im practicing quite hard...still waiting for a lucid dream. I have heaps of dreams but i can never control it....i can never realise im in a dream...Ive had nightmares where im trapped with a huge beast in a maze and its all dark....its happened 2 me atleast 5 times! any advice?

I usually stay 2 or 3 sec. on my dreams after I realize im dreaming. I have a question for everybody when you're dreaming is everything VERY bright? Cause I see everything o bright it is almost white and most are black and white if I remember.
I dont remember dreams I recently had just nightmares i used to have all the time when I was younger
had my first dream where I realized I was dreaming a few days ago... the moment i figured it out the dream became very blurry, so i said to myself "focus!", and it cleared up, but I woke up a couple of seconds later because I somehow rolled into such a position that both my shoulders were numbed.
@EliCurrent look at your fears, realize they aren't real and tell them that. Then, they will ignore you. A man once constantly dreamed a lion was chasing him, so he faced it, and the lion turned into a woman. LD'ing can help your nightmares, not enhance them.
Nice video....I am wanting to have lucid dreams but I DONT KNOW HOW!!! Any suggestions on where I look to find out how to lucid dream....or tips or anything that will help me experience what you have!
The only thing that makes me not want to lucid dreams is facing nightmares. I've had some damn scary nightmares. What should i do if I face a nightmare? And sleep paralysis is a scary thing too.
@EliCurrent why? you don't NEED to face your nightmares in a LD. Rather, when you are able to LD and you happen to find yourself in a nightmare, you can become lucid and do something about it! (you can also chose to wake up ofcourse). What do you like more? Have a nightmare and think it's real? Or be in the nightmare knowing it's not real and you have nothing to fear?
@MadFishFood --- i have just started and had about 40 - 50 and damn right! when i suddenly become aware and i am in a scary environment all i do is to close my eyes and spin and boom i am somewhere else! :D
As much as I want to experience this... some of those questions you asked your characters got creepy responses. Can I fight my nightmares by turning them into something nonthreatening instead of facing my fears. Like turning zombies that represent fear of death into jelly doughnuts that represent me being hungry?
@Arzamol5 hey, interesting question! maybe you should try? You have to keep in mind that once you realize you are dreaming there is NOTHING to fear, everything is an illusion. If you play a videogame with scary characters you know they can't really hurt you - same for a lucid dream.

@vodorf it called false awakenings i had my first lucid entwined in over 100 false awakenings i had gone mad trying to wake up. When i did i didnt sleep for a week -.- silly me now i havnt had a lucis for a loooong time but ive had plenty false awakenings :( guess im used to it, i can plan my day out im a dream and read a book lol?
i had my first lucid dream in december, i said HEY IM DREAMING and then my class yelled WELL FINALLY YOUVE BEEN LEARNING FOR WHAT A YEAR NOW!! And im like Woah, who r u abd they were like, were your subconcious. i finally flew but does ur subconcious normally talk to u in a dream?
im starting to really get into this whole thing (ive started looking into this about 3 days ago) and im really REALLY excited about this and ive noticed things in my dreams. (like a small owl about 10 inches tall and feet that were the same size as it was. and that owl seems to be in a few of my dreams) but whats the BEST way of waking up in a dream so you can LD?
Is there such thing as a dream before you fully fall asleep? I had a dream that I was trying incredibly hard to do something, but that it was nearly impossible to do. I kept doing it, and then I realized that the logic didn't make any sense, and I was in bed again... then I had another thought that made no sense, which transformed into a sort of dream... but that was strange enough to knock me back out of it. Am I making sense?
Wait a minute, people say that to have a luciddream you have to do realitychecks while in the dream, but you can't do that if you don't already have a lucid dream and can control that.
@vodorf You do reality checks in real life and then you associate them with dreaming hopefully then you will dream about it and realise you are dreaming.
However its not the best way to achiveve lucidity. Just helps once your inside
@TouchinKids And you may get a kind of paralize were your mind is awake and your body asleep so you can't move. This can variate from a few seconds to minutes.
@vodorf Simply don't wake yourself up. Wait for the dream to end on its own, naturally. Else, you may have night terrors. If you are still curious about what happens when Sleep Paralysis / Night Terrors occur,
watch this video -----> watch?v=ylBcCFdV0jo&feature It shows a picture very nearly depicting what you experience (A demon on your chest, slowly suffocating you) as well as the sounds that you hear when paralyzed.
@vodorf Another sound is watch?v=QDo_nO3VTsM That one's a bit creepy..
Good news though, if you have not had night terrors or sleep paralysis before, chances are it will not happen to you. It only happens in a very VERY small amount of people. SO, you are in luck... unless you've experienced this before.
I have a question about this lucid dreaming. How often do you need to do reality checks and does it matter(time wise before you get lucid dreams) if you do it more often per day? If i check lets say 30 times per day do i get there faster than if i only check 5? May be stupid questions but its good to know before i start :P
Do reality checks whenever something seems strange, and work on being aware during the day. Take in as many details as possible, and when it gets to be natural for you so that you don't even have to try, it can carry on into your dreams. You will be more aware in your dreams as well and will be able to spot things that don't look right, and will remind you to do a reality check. This is a technique called "All Day Awareness", that helps have" DILDs" (Dream Initiated Lucid Dreams).
I have trouble getting over the gap between my conscious mind and the dream world, ( basically the "jumping into it") when I WILD method, could someone reply? Thanks in advance.
Wait, how do you remember everything you ask in your dreams, and the answers? The furthest I've gone in lucid dreaming is changing the colour of my shirt and stopping an aquarium from bursting or something, which is admittedly lame but since it was my first ever time , I was quite stoked. =/
@RythmPrincess02 hey :) work on your dream recall by keeping a dream journal, it helps a lot! Also, writing down your dreams immediately after waking up helps to keep the memory. Changing your shirt color and stopping an aquarium from bursting are feats of dream control so be proud of that! Have fun in your next LD's!
Also how vivid are your dreams LD4all, from a scale of 0 - 15, 10 marks the actual reality spot, compare it to reality because ive heard of people say it can be even more vivid than reality sometimes - like HD mode, so im curious for an actual lucid dreamers reply, btw really nice video, already gave me some inspiration, i want to meet my dream characters and have some questions because ive only had LD once and it wasnt so vivid
@MrSuperSmashed hey. The vividness of my LD's varies, I have had them more vivid than real life (a 15 in your scale) and also a 0, where everything is very dark. So yes, LD's can be more vivid than real life, it certainly bends your view on "reality" after waking up from an ultra vivid LD into a less vivid waking life! Good luck on becoming lucid!
can you use wild technique when your about to sleep/ attempt lucid dreaming, at night because im thinking it only works after waking up or something because sometimes i can have my body paralyzed or upto my neck idk if my head gets it so much, and i can sometimes see shapes floating around (coloured) in a fading blue or so
You guys that comment have helped me alot in my ld i have alot of fun in the movie.inseption they have sertian thing to check that they arebin reality u should use one it helps
I discovered this lucid dream yesterday when I started to google around. I just had my first reality dream or LD whatever. I woke up in my room and just got scared because it felt so real the only different was a radio sound i heard in the dream and in the reality theres only a sound of a clock. And the cool thing was that I came back and forth 5 times before I decided to screw it all and wake up totally. I mean this is very scary, how can you be sure that you will not be trapped in the dreams.
@Rebeloslusken are you ever afraid you will get trapped in a normal dream? well, a lucid dream is just a normal dream, only you know you are dreaming. So don't worry, you will always wake up. Although those false awakenings (that you have described) can be very annoying!
@LD4all Once I dreamed that I dreamed that I dreamed that I dreamed, then I woke up from that dream, and was still in a dream, then I woke up from that dream and I was still in a dream, then I woke up in that... etc, etc until I finally woke up in the reality.
I am already began to practice LD about 5 days ago. Thanks to your website. The first step was; remembering your dream, and Seriously... remembering your dream is as hard as s**t. and that was just first step...
Wohoo ! I managed to get my first LD for long time last night. I did the reality check to take a grip at my nose and breathe in with it, it felt like breathing in while your nose bleeds. Anyway it was sure damn great feeling to jump in a mirror, I first tried to jump in it eyes open but it was only stretchy, but when i closed my eyes and jumped in to it i managed to get inside, but seem'd like when i jumped in it my dream changed. Maybe i need more practise =)
@kargaroc386 Hardly! I mean, I got my first LD about half a year after I first heard about it. I spent the first month actually trying to get an LD, then forgot about it. Then, a few moths later I got one :D
i first joined this site three weeks ago and i have already had 2 short lucid dreams...nothing compares. and the community here is absolutely brilliant,
I have a problem, I looked to text and a watch, looked away and back, but the text didn't change :P But when I woke up I realised that the paper came out of nowhere and the clock too. I actually was dreaming that I knew that I was dreaming :). I even rubbed my hands to stay awake longer and so on XD
@Virtualko94 You may have sleep paralysis for a small while, though it doesn't always happen. Start with moving your toes or fingers, and work your way up. The smaller muscles should still be able to move. If this doesn't work, try breathing irregularly. Your body will reactivate as if there is a problem.
I tried for 5 months really hard and then suddenly one night I started having amazing lucid dreams. I never gave up.
One thing that may have triggered it was that I woke up after 4 and half hours, then wrote "Am I dreaming" over and over again for an hour, then went back to sleep.
That worked incredibly well. I made this method up myself. It really stuck the phrase into my brain.
Spinning on the spot and rubbing your hands prolongs a lucid dream 97% of the time, and shouting "Increase Lucidity" and "Increase Clarity" work extremely well.
Hi! I had a few lucid dreams. I don't have them every night, just sometimes, and they're annoyingly short. I figure out some stuff are weird,so I get that I'm dreaming. I would do crazy stuff, like running crazily, jumping to fly,or even flying, trying to sing amazingly, but I'm always afraid I'm awake,so I spend the most time of a dream, just cheking am I dreaming. Also,I dream weird situations, about stuff I've been chatting about recently,or places I visited. How to LD more often, and longer? Advices?
@LD4all I've a question for you. If you practiced, and got good at the WILD method, would it be possible to have a Lucid dream almost every night if you tried?
Hello. I'm 15 and have had 3 lucid dreams since discovering LD4all! Thanks for creating it, it's really helped me. I find it incredibly interesting to think about the contents of our dreams and think it's a shame a lot of people haven't even heard of it. For such an incredible thing, it isn't very well known :(
May I please know the techniques (If any. Do you just naturally have them? Have you always?) that you use?
@lmc100 congrats on your LD's! Compared to when I started LD4all 14 years ago, a LOT more people know about LD nowadays! And the movie "Inception" is surely a boost as well :)
As for me, I have learned LD from the book "creative dreaming" by Patricia Garfield, now over 15 years ago. WBTB combined with WILD usually has good results for me if I really want to have a LD.
@LD4all Lol, I've tried WBTB in the past, but I've always been too lazy to get up. And in the LD's I have had, I've always tried to do more actions than to talk to my DC's. Should I try talking to them more? Will it give me an insight into my subconsious mind? I see that you have had some rather interesting talks with your DC's. I just feel that I want to try as much out as I can in the timespan I have, so I think I rush. I have flown, and changed my environment by will.
@LD4all But I haven't felt completely calm in them. I don't think I take enough things in. Should I try just calmly exploring the dream world the next I have an LD, instead of trying to do as many things as I can fit in?
@lmc100 I recognize that "rush" feeling. I have had that as well. I spent some LD's just standing still and watching. That's very interesting to do. Talking with DC's is something I like to do, although not all DC's are as responsive as the examples I put in the video :) Good luck on your lucid adventures!
I had one lucid dream so far... absolutely the best dreaming experience I have had. I used a method called wake 2 sleep. I woke up early morning and then stayed up for a bit (watched part of teh matrix), I then went back to sleep and as I entered dream state I questioned reality... at that moment I knew I could have fun. So, I ended up becoming "The One" in my dream. I was able to fly, distort space, etc. I havn't had a lucid dream since, but I dont think Ive been trying hard enough.
why is that when i lucid dream, the first i want to do is have sex :S then when i have sex, i wake up, it ruins everything!!! :( (and to note im not a pervert)
Definate subscription, I have also had many lucid dreams, experienced many wonderful things, the feeling is indescribable in words, I can remember every grain of sand every stone and pebble, But as my lucid dreams Have only included Dragons. And now iv'e seen this video i want to go on More of a quest to explore What else my mind can do. Thank You very Much Joining your forum right now to discuse certain things :)
First of all, I just want to say this video is awe inspiring! I just became interested in Lucid Dreams about 4 days ago, and as of right now I'm still developing my dream recall. Since I've been keeping a dream journal, I've remembered a dream every night, which is amazing progress for me. The main problem for me is that I usually have very vague dreams, in which I don't even seem to have control over my actions even! Any tips on how to get past this roadblock?
@dethshockbio hi! You are making good progress already! not having control over dreams is usual, or are you talking about lucid dreams you can't control? (that's also not rare). As for the vague dreams, I'd suggest to either try some focusing meditation or try to be more aware of your surroundings when you are awake. Pay attention to details. Just observe what is around you and really look at it. Describe to yourself what you see. Good luck!
@LD4all Thank you for the response. Like I said, I'm still in the stage of really trying to develop my dream recall, in which just since I've been keeping my dream journal I've been remembering at least one dream a night (I remembered another one last night, progress!) Once I've really developed it, then I will focus on achieving lucidity. What I mean about not having control in my dreams is that I seem to be on auto-pilot. It's like I'm watching an act instead of actually living it.
@dethshockbio I think if you focus more and more on your dreams and on recalling them, and paying attention in waking physical reality to your surroundings, then the auto-pilot in the dream may lessen. But then again, it sounds normal to me, usually in dreams you don't realize it's all a dream and you go with the flow of the dream, you aren't in the same state of mind as you are when you are awake. So keep up the remembering!
Really GREAT. From wich country are you? Im doing my final paperwork to obtain my grade of Psychology on Lucid Dreaming, maybe i can ask you some questions about your experiences and beliefs on Lds? Ill be glad to do it.

I wanted to have luciddreams for so long and when I finally got one, i could'nt do anything fun so I got bored and woke myself.. That was a misstake.

I had my last LD about a month ago and really want to have a new one :D
Tenshionnanoko128 9 months ago
Wait a minute, people say that to have a luciddream you have to do realitychecks while in the dream, but you can't do that if you don't already have a lucid dream and can control that.
vodorf 9 months ago
@vodorf You do reality checks in real life and then you associate them with dreaming hopefully then you will dream about it and realise you are dreaming.
However its not the best way to achiveve lucidity. Just helps once your inside
TouchinKids 9 months ago
@TouchinKids And you may get a kind of paralize were your mind is awake and your body asleep so you can't move. This can variate from a few seconds to minutes.
vodorf 9 months ago
@vodorf to hours. There was one woman stuck in sleep paralysis for three hours.
wkunzelman1 9 months ago
@wkunzelman1 OH MY GOD, that's terrible! How do you prevent that from happening`?
vodorf 9 months ago
@vodorf Simply don't wake yourself up. Wait for the dream to end on its own, naturally. Else, you may have night terrors. If you are still curious about what happens when Sleep Paralysis / Night Terrors occur,
watch this video -----> watch?v=ylBcCFdV0jo&feature It shows a picture very nearly depicting what you experience (A demon on your chest, slowly suffocating you) as well as the sounds that you hear when paralyzed.
wkunzelman1 9 months ago
@vodorf Another sound is watch?v=QDo_nO3VTsM That one's a bit creepy..
Good news though, if you have not had night terrors or sleep paralysis before, chances are it will not happen to you. It only happens in a very VERY small amount of people. SO, you are in luck... unless you've experienced this before.
wkunzelman1 9 months ago
I have a question about this lucid dreaming. How often do you need to do reality checks and does it matter(time wise before you get lucid dreams) if you do it more often per day? If i check lets say 30 times per day do i get there faster than if i only check 5? May be stupid questions but its good to know before i start :P
18bambit 10 months ago
@18bambit

Wait, how do you remember everything you ask in your dreams, and the answers? The furthest I've gone in lucid dreaming is changing the colour of my shirt and stopping an aquarium from bursting or something, which is admittedly lame but since it was my first ever time , I was quite stoked. =/
Now i see all you've done and just...WOW. xD
RythmPrincess02 11 months ago

MrSuperSmashed 1 year ago
@MrSuperSmashed hey. The vividness of my LD's varies, I have had them more vivid than real life (a 15 in your scale) and also a 0, where everything is very dark. So yes, LD's can be more vivid than real life, it certainly bends your view on "reality" after waking up from an ultra vivid LD into a less vivid waking life! Good luck on becoming lucid!
LD4all 1 year ago
can you use wild technique when your about to sleep/ attempt lucid dreaming, at night because im thinking it only works after waking up or something because sometimes i can have my body paralyzed or upto my neck idk if my head gets it so much, and i can sometimes see shapes floating around (coloured) in a fading blue or so
MrSuperSmashed 1 year ago
@MrSuperSmashed WILD usually works better if you have already slept, try it after about 6 hours of sleep.

Rebeloslusken 1 year ago
@Rebeloslusken are you ever afraid you will get trapped in a normal dream? well, a lucid dream is just a normal dream, only you know you are dreaming. So don't worry, you will always wake up. Although those false awakenings (that you have described) can be very annoying!
LD4all 1 year ago 7
@LD4all Once I dreamed that I dreamed that I dreamed that I dreamed, then I woke up from that dream, and was still in a dream, then I woke up from that dream and I was still in a dream, then I woke up in that... etc, etc until I finally woke up in the reality.

Maybe i need more practise =)

when you wake up do u get sleep paralysis
Virtualko94 1 year ago
@Virtualko94 You may have sleep paralysis for a small while, though it doesn't always happen. Start with moving your toes or fingers, and work your way up. The smaller muscles should still be able to move. If this doesn't work, try breathing irregularly. Your body will reactivate as if there is a problem.
onehundredeleven111 1 year ago
@stabbingchu
It really stuck the phrase into my brain.
randomemz13 1 year ago
@stylemegaqueen
Spinning on the spot and rubbing your hands prolongs a lucid dream 97% of the time, and shouting "Increase Lucidity" and "Increase Clarity" work extremely well.
randomemz13 1 year ago
Advices?

Thanks
lmc100 1 year ago
@lmc100 congrats on your LD's! Compared to when I started LD4all 14 years ago, a LOT more people know about LD nowadays! And the movie "Inception" is surely a boost as well :)
As for me, I have learned LD from the book "creative dreaming" by Patricia Garfield, now over 15 years ago. WBTB combined with WILD usually has good results for me if I really want to have a LD.
LD4all 1 year ago
@LD4all Lol, I've tried WBTB in the past, but I've always been too lazy to get up. And in the LD's I have had, I've always tried to do more actions than to talk to my DC's. Should I try talking to them more? Will it give me an insight into my subconsious mind? I see that you have had some rather interesting talks with your DC's. I just feel that I want to try as much out as I can in the timespan I have, so I think I rush. I have flown, and changed my environment by will.
lmc100 1 year ago
@LD4all But I haven't felt completely calm in them. I don't think I take enough things in. Should I try just calmly exploring the dream world the next I have an LD, instead of trying to do as many things as I can fit in?
lmc100 1 year ago

Any tips on how to get past this roadblock?
dethshockbio 1 year ago
@dethshockbio Inception? xD
shiksaphylac 1 year ago
@dethshockbio hi! You are making good progress already! not having control over dreams is usual, or are you talking about lucid dreams you can't control? (that's also not rare). As for the vague dreams, I'd suggest to either try some focusing meditation or try to be more aware of your surroundings when you are awake. Pay attention to details. Just observe what is around you and really look at it. Describe to yourself what you see. Good luck!
LD4all 1 year ago
@LD4all Thank you for the response. Like I said, I'm still in the stage of really trying to develop my dream recall, in which just since I've been keeping my dream journal I've been remembering at least one dream a night (I remembered another one last night, progress!) Once I've really developed it, then I will focus on achieving lucidity. What I mean about not having control in my dreams is that I seem to be on auto-pilot. It's like I'm watching an act instead of actually living it.
dethshockbio 1 year ago
@dethshockbio I think if you focus more and more on your dreams and on recalling them, and paying attention in waking physical reality to your surroundings, then the auto-pilot in the dream may lessen. But then again, it sounds normal to me, usually in dreams you don't realize it's all a dream and you go with the flow of the dream, you aren't in the same state of mind as you are when you are awake. So keep up the remembering!
