@20centjes actually he wrote tons of songs, in addition to Grace, its bsides and My Sweetheart the Drunk, I have several unreleased tracks that he wrote that are all amazing as well....and besides what's so bad about co-writing a song.....most of the great singer songwriters/artists of all time actually co-wrote their songs, but people just assume they wrote the songs themselves.

Shit version. I hate when an artist gets so self absorbed they mangle a classic composition. He's got a good voice but he fucked up the melody. Could have been good aswell.
@Underground906 Why make an exact copy of a classic melody I ask? Why not mangle it so to speak? If you prefer that composition you have the original. This is typical buckley. He made it his own. I personally love this and I love the way Jeff indulges in his own vocals. Its full of emotion.

Shit version. I hate when an artist gets so self absorbed they mangle a classic composition. He's got a good voice but he fucked up the melody. Could have been good aswell.

@Underground906 Why make an exact copy of a classic melody I ask? Why not mangle it so to speak? If you prefer that composition you have the original. This is typical buckley. He made it his own. I personally love this and I love the way Jeff indulges in his own vocals. Its full of emotion.

@CotardDelusion Because the chorus in the original is what made it a classic song. That was all that needed to stay the same on this. He could have still put his mark on the song. Improved it even. I was looking forward to him getting to the chorus when I first listened to this with a sense it would be brilliant after the build up. It wasn't. Like I said it was a very bad mangling of this song It's a joke. A wasted opportunity. He disappeared up his own arse on that chorus & killed it. Too bad

There are some truly rough comments about this and about Jeff, felt the need to respond with my thoughts! Thought I would do it in an abstract fashion too! We are all entitled to our points of view, as I believe Oscar wilde said, not word for word, "Sir, I may not agree with your point of view, I will defend until my dying breath your right to say it!" I like this cover, but I think it lacks the warmth and personal feel of the original. It's very "Buckley", and I don't think his style is really suitable for Dylan songs.

This is a good version of the song, but anyone who says it is "better than Bob's version" doesn't know what they're talking about, since Dylan himself had many versions of this song as he performed it over the years.
