  • Best vehicle in our Malaysia Army, although it called litte pig. Today already retired half or it. Easy to gone through the jungle cause of it smaller size

  • That didn't driver over the ridge, it climbed over. Cool!

  • This driver sucks

  • nice

  • Yea, whatever, that is very....neat... but my cherokee would do that in about 3 seconds

  • I think it would be easier to climb 4x4

  • lets some air out more traction

  • beautyfull...

  • To acalthu- Scared NO....concerned yes! I would rather not put 18k worth of truck on its side...ya know. I will let you ride shotgun in my 62' Unimog & I bet I will have you begging to get out! MrLucy.

  • Not at all, I've been in a few crawlers in my time riding shotgun obviously. I love being precariously perched on the edge.

  • Good spotter, scared driver.

  • The Pinzgauer is built in Austria, not in Switzerland or Germany, and it is the best off- road vehicle in the world!

  • Doesn't BAE have an interest in it as well? I could've sworn these were built in the UK too.

  • For a short time, yes. But just because it was shortly built there, these cars wich left the factory in uk, aren´t british!

  • I was discussing where they're made, not their origins. And if you watch Top Gear vs D-Motor, you'll see country of origin is up for debate too these days. :D

  • Yes, but it is and always will be a Austrian Vehicle! Can you give me the you tube link of this video wich you have mensioned^^?

  • @SteyrMF: From about the end of 2000, all Pinzgauers were built in UK by Automotive Technik Ltd, all the production jigs having been moved from the factory in Graz. To comply with emission regs, we then fitted a new VW 5-cylinder diesel engine with more power, upgraded the transmission and strengthened the suspension. We also standardised on wider wheels and tyres. Some components were supplied by Magna Steyr and original companies, but many were supplied from the UK industry. Now owned by BAe

  • @Gruntphuttock But it is the Idea wich counts! Everybody is able to build a car with the plans! But to invent the best off- road vehicle in the world is another story! So it is an Austrian vehicle, without a dought!

  • @SteyrMF: Oh, no doubt at all, I certainly wouldn't contest that, although we did in fact introduce many much needed improvements.

  • @Gruntphuttock You´re absulutely right, but its the same with the mexico beetle (I think you know that), they gave the plans to mexico and they built the beetle till the 80´s^^!

  • @acalthu: You are right, they were built by Automotive Technik Ltd. (See above comment) ATL were taken over by US company Stewart & Stevenson, who were subsequently taken over by Armor Holdings and they were bought out by British Aerospace Inc., the Pinzgauer production remaining in UK throughout and eventually becoming part of BAE Land Systems. They, for reasons best known to themselves, have discontinued it and I have no idea what their plans are for the vehicle, if any. It was a sad day.

  • @Gruntphuttock Apparently the reason for them being discontinued is because the British Army were complaining that they are not safe for operation in Iraq and Afghanistan because they are vulnerable to IEDs, etc even after having armour upgrades. It does not stop them from being one of the best offroaders in the world and I imagine the armour upgrades would have put a lot of extra weight on it thus effecting its offroad capability.

  • Dude, there is that wicked good spotter again!

  • un carrazoooo..... ruso??

  • Comment removed

  • r u serious piz can't climb there just little puddle trucks and not practical 4 anything else

  • well it just did, mr. non- believer. shun the non- believer... lol. i wouldn't expect it to climb that either.

  • Sounds like he pulled the exhaust pipe off, for some reason the stock exhaust pipe has a massive silencer box and is about the only vulnerable thing that hangs down on a pinzgauer. It sticks down just in front of the rear wheels.

  • Yeah he poped the exhaust apart at a joint. He pushed it back together after he got home, no damage :)

Yup, Jeep, FJ Cruiser, Toureg, take the easy line :)

  • STEYR-PUCH Pinzgauer rules ; better than Hummer.

    Steyr-Puch, Austria, Europe.

  • I heard a Unimog made it up that same obsticle, have video posted yet? ;)

  • Well, the Unimog´s tires are SLIGHTLY bigger. But how frustrating must that be for the SUV-faggots in the back?

  • this is AWESOME.

  • Take a look at the toureg and fj cruiser in the background. "So, what am i suppose to do?" Haha, although I deeply respect both of them don't think I would go to length and scratch them. That's the truth, new cars are just too new, get em while they're rustin!
