That setup is now being replaced as we speak with a 402ci full forged build. Same heads but with better valves and ports are hand finished ontop of the CNC job. New cam, too. Should make near or over 500rwhp hopefully.
It's a LSR cam from Comp Cams: a cam designed for midrange monster power, 4500-6000rpms. And it is VERY strong there, reving to 6600rpms no problem. It is a loping cam though, requiring a immediate ECU reprogram and it hurts the idle/ fuel economy just like a so-called "larger" cam. Best used for a stalled auto or heavy truck.
@aZX14blurr, thanks for your reply. I was thinking of putting a 227/235 113+2 LSA in my 408 with L92 heads. I need a cam that will build lots of torque down low. I don't care about the top end horsepower as much. What are your thoughts?
Haven't dyno'd it yet. In a couple weeks I'll have both dyno and drag strip results. Should be in the 450-480rwhp range according to all the guys that have done similiar builds on LS1GTO.com.
what kinda power did the ls2 make with those heads ?
