Kojima has said many times that Raiden was his favorite for the simple fact that he was different. to consider the fact, raiden is thoughtfully i think 200 or 100 years old because he is Solid Snake from MGS2 son. so in ways he is connected to them and also he was put on war during the Civil War in i think 1862, no matter what Snakes legacy was to be passed on either if they Clone Solid Snake or if he were to be born. and MGS3 is a prequel and Metal Gear Solid:Peace Walker continues after MGS3.
