Do you by any chance know of a drummer named "Roger Strange"? I think he is in the Montreal area...around 70 or 71 and has taught drums for a long time as well as being a First Call show and session drummer/
this is a great drumming video please check out sammibabyxoxo nd then click where it says great drumming youll be surprised please comment or rate thank you
Jacob, very nice. I live in Plattsburgh, 60 miles from you. A dear friend of mine Fred House took some lessons from you. Very very nice technique. I think I may need to take a lesson or two from you. WOW.
Endevouring to avoid arguments.. let's see. My theory is that both are right. On the initial learning level... developing the correct arm-hand movements, and assimulating them into "muscle memory" rebound is not necessary. On the practical-performance level rebound occurs. (unless, one is performing on a pillow, ha ha)
Where did you learn this technique from? I heard Chapin learned it from his teacher in the 1938-39 years he was a student of Moeller's. I still haven't grasped the concept, I've watched Royster's video, Weckl's video, Chapin's, and I still don't really know how the stick does the work for you.
The answer: Jojo Mayer's Secret Weapons for the Modern Drummer DVD. This is the best (understandable)explanation of this concept i've seen, you just need to work on it step by step and most importantly learn the correct movement. Believe me dude, it'll come. Hope this helps!
Well, I've decided to reteurn to open-handed playing and now, I´ve been wondering witch exercises would you recomend for drummers that used to play cross-over playing to open-handed playing. Like a "preparation for the open-handed" kind of exercise for drummers that used to plays cross but now wanting to play open.
I'de really appreciate if you could send anything about this subject :)

I dunno, but the drummers who have killer hand speed (especially the LEFT hand) achieve it be rebound control.
But there are a few exceptions (Buddy Rich being one of them) who seem to have hand speed w/o rebound.
I am jealous.

what do you think of this argument discussing the bounce or not to bounce in the Moeller method? search for Jeff Queen - Moeller Method.
In the responses there is an argument between the two trying to come up with the truth of Moeller.
can you please describe your technique?

my advice... begin now! don't delay... find a teacher who knows it inside out! (you won't learn in month or 2) gotta pay your dues with it ....
