  • Great rendering of Abhang..... every time the chant of Narayana or Hari gets my dormant bhakthi tendencies activated....... We need more of these.......

  • These two sisters have set trail blazing glory in bringing to the carnatic music audience, the very essence of classic ABHANG from Tukaram et al, and have thus captured the hearts of many. May GOD bless them and keep them in godd health and joy!! May that PANDARIPURA Vithoba bless them both many times!!

  • Ragam-Shekharachandrika or Shubaali- Subapanthuvarali without Panchamam

    Thalam- Ekam

  • shubhapantuvarali without the pancham is "Shubhaali"... analogous to Bhavaani derived from Bhavapriya for example...

  • Yes Bhor Bhaye is Gurjari Thodi...N this one is too...

  • It is Gujari Thodi- Thodi minus pa (i.e Shubhapantuvarali in Carnatic minus pa)

  • ranjani gayatri concert is a night without stars without a conclusive abhang

  • I think it's strange that fans would be disappointed if they didn't sing an abhang. There should be any expectations of a concert other than good music. Granted, it's hugely their fault though that they've developed this expectation in their audience.

  • @carnaticmusic89 that even i agree with...but abhang is something that everyone seeks from them...it's like how mss had not one concert without bhajagovindam...

  • I think they are both amazing musicians, but I would like to see their concerts be less formulaic, a little more exciting and spontaneous. I understand this is a little more difficult given that they are two singers and not one but I still think more spontaneity and variety of concerts is possible.

  • @carnaticmusic89 I totally agree with you. I always thought it would be nice if they tried something leaning towards Thumri style, i think that would be really interesting.. is there a carnatic equvalent something less classical ? i dont know too much about indian classical & carnatic classical ,, but just thinking...

  • I think 'Bhore Bhaye' from Delhi-6 is in same ragam. Can someone confirm?

  • Which ragam is this? The notes used sound like S R1 G2 M2 D1 N3 S, if im not wrong..

  • This raaga is Subhapanthuvarali without a Panchamam (P) ... People call this as Shekara chandrika.. This is a janyam of Subhapanthuvarali

  • Thank you so much

  • nice one! thank you!!!

    aum

  • is it not Raag lalith?

  • @1961sk It IS Lalat.
