  • The positive thing here is that this is an issue now, people would make anti-gay jokes all the time in the past and never be questioned.

  • fucking hell chill out , he's only having a laugh about benders

  • How on earth has this line been so badly mis-quoted throughout the press? Did no one think to re-listen to the show rather than regurgitate a press release (which is how I assume they got the information). Very odd. The BBC should have been able to listen back to that before making their decision to pre-record his radio show.

Very weird. Not homophobic. I blame the press, they're obsessed.

  • what is wrong with people? political correctness gone mad that's what! why? because PC actually suits certain types: homophobes, racists, bigots, narrow minded vultures seeking 2 make this world as miserable as their own lifes. jonathan ross is the total opposite of them!! typical! i am sick and tired of those stuck up pc crazy cretins with a chip the size of australia on their shoulders.. GET A f***g LIFE! i'm gay and not offended by JR comments. so let the brilliant man be for heaven sake!

  • You have no problem with someone saying that gay children should be put up for adoption? That's sick.

  • At which point does Jonathan Ross say put gay children up for adoption? Interesting how some people hear what they want to hear. If anyone took the time to listen you'd hear a joke about gay couples adopting. Not homophobic one bit, not one about putting "gay children" up for adoption. The fact all journalists and anti-Ross/anti-BBC members of the public decided to ignore this to create their own warped story means this really shouldn't be given the time of day.

  • "if you son asks for a Hannah Montana MP3 player, then you might already think about putting them down for adoption".

  • See, you're doing it again. Making it fit into your silly non-story. Let's continue your snippet an extra few words....

"if your son asks for a Hannah Montana MP3 player, then you might already think about putting them down for adoption....in later life when they settle down with their partner."

He didn't say put them UP for adoption, and besides.... why would you put them up for adoption "later in life when they've settled down with a partner"?

    Christ almighty.

  • You put the quote up and even YOU are taking the quote out of context. You missed out the 'later in life' bit which follows, which is the key bit. It implies you won't be having grandchildren, your son will be adopting when he's an adult. How can so many people have got this so wrong?

  • I understand what your saying, but whats funny about the "joke"?

  • @BBCHomophobia but he didn't SAY that, did he? If you listen, he says:

If your son asks for a Hannah Montana MP3 player, you might want to already think about putting him down for adoption *in later life when he settles down with his… ehm… partner*

He is saying a gay son will likely need to adopt to have a family - a pretty accurate statement. You proved the previous statement that people here what they want to.

  • this is bull leave ross alone as a bi woman i do NOT take offense its just a rubbish joke, if he was really homophobic would he really have 4 poofs and a piano playing at his show

  • Oh man. Leave the guy alone. I absolutely hate people who kick up a fuss about nothing. He posted this message from his twitter

"Am mortified to hear some people thought I was being homophobic on Radio show. Nothing could be further from truth, as I am sure most know."

    - and I for one totally believe him. Don;t even know why this is on here

  • And what is wrong with those comments?

My God! People are such whiny bitches these days...he wasn't even being homophobic. It was a little joke!

  • I didn't think this was terribly insulting, however it wasn't funny either. He's really over rated, he used to be a fairly good entertainer, but now he's getting on a bit I think he's relying on 'obvious' jokes like this. Time to give up and go to ITV!

  • Why is this overpaid cunt still working for the BBC??

  • excuse me but whoever reported this is a complete plonker for god sake get a life hes a comedian and entertainer and is incredibly funny and talented man are people gona slam every comedian or anyone in fact for saying things that are light hearted jokes oh my god you people make me so mad and the only shit coming is outa people like you!!!!!! hes a star an a1 comedian let him do his job and that is make people laugh are people gona nit pic everything he says

  • Johnathan Ross is the best . he has 4 gay singers on his show week in week out and he put them there . homophobic lol sirpose the queen is irish to . get a life loser.

  • Ok. Johnathan Ross is homophobic. Doesn't surprise.

BBC is really scraping the barrel with a man they reckon the rest of UK radio listeners think is funny. How much do they pay him for the shit that comes out of his mouth?
