Listen to this and then listen to the recorded version. Sounds almost exactly like it except for the harmonics part before the main solo right? Now listen to the through the fire and flames recording by dragonforce and then listen to them live. It sounds nothing like it and its sloppy. That's the difference between a good band like megadeth and a shitty band like dragonforce.

For all those who think that the best line up was Dave Mustaine, Marty Friedman, David Ellefson, Nick Menza years ago, I wanna say that they may be right, but look at Megadeth now. They are fucking steel! Not a single wrong note in any of the songs they play live.... Amazing new songs with amazing riffs, lyrics and solos. Pure fucking metal performed with a high awesomeness. I think that THIS is the best line up, and also now with Ellefson!

What happened was that Metallica had 4 songs in progress that they had worked on with Dave, and when Dave got kicked out, they edited those 4 songs and had Kirk learn them, and they did credit Dave so it's not stealing. Even Dave admits that, and Kirk was a co-founder of Exodus and he wrote some stuff that was going to be used in Exodus but used it for Metallica when he got the job. Those riffs were his writing and he had every right to use them

sorry to tell you, but if you look closer, and listen to his voice when the song is done, you can obviously tell that the voice is a re-recording. Sometimes his lips are out of sync - don't hate me for this comment, he's got a great voice, but it's a shame that it's something they recorded afterwards
