When I was a child my mother didn't keep things like that in the house at all. We did not have a store cupboard of treats. No candy, cholocate, cookies, chips, soda you name it, we didn't have it in the house.

Once in a while as a treat, we would get a small packet of candy or some chocolate and we could eat all of it and that was it. When it was gone it was gone. There's no need to be snacking on garbage all the time. They don't need it and that's why they're not eating their food.
