Most ,if not all of Latino American Patriots, fought on In Spain side against the Napoleon Invasion. later on, they came back. And fought Against the Spanish crown to get the Independence from their native nations. @Heybuddy06 I'd rather say that napoleon was the determining factor of the french military power of that time. He himself used to say that his soldiers should learn to shoot on the way to the front whereas the german soldiers were usually drilled to perfection but had less capable commanders at that time. Before and after napoleon it was common that german troops won battles against france while being greatly outnumbered.

Blucher wasn't as good as Napoléon, but he surely was as the french marshalls. However, he lost many times, because of the preparation of the Grande Armée, the discipline it had. Go and read about the prussian campaign and the french campaigns, you'll see Napoléon won only a part of the victories. And i'm talking about the Napoleonic Wars, not 1870 or so

You have to remember that too. so France wasn't all powerful, The same with the Spanish Empire, France couldn't invade them through war, so they just went inside Spanish soil because of the Open borders, and France just took control of Spain.

And once his army was allowed to enter he occupied Madrid and sent Fernando to jail. Napo did not win any regular war in Spain. Finally, when the spaniards could organize their reaction they fought and defeated the french army.

German marches bring back my childhood memories of barbarities committed by Wehrmacht on millions of innocent people in occupied countries. It is so difficult to explain atrocities committed by an army of a nation claiming to be superior culturally. Before and after napoleon it was common that german troops won battles against france while being greatly outnumbered.
But we should stop that argument, it leads nowhere

Blucher wasn't as good as Napoléon, but he surely was as the french marshalls. However, he lost many times, because of the preparation of the Grande Armée, the discipline it had. Go and read about the prussian campaign and the french campaigns, you'll see Napoléon won only a part of the victories. And i'm talking about the Napoleonic Wars, not 1870 or so

You have to remember that too. so France wasn't all powerful, The same with the Spanish Empire, France couldn't invade them through war, so they just went inside Spanish soil because of the Open borders, and France just took control of Spain.

Napoleon asked for permission to the king of Spain (Fernando VII) to cross with his troops the spanish territory with the excuse he would attac England from the spanish coast. And once his army was allowed to enter he occupied Madrid and sent Fernando to jail. Napo did not win any regular war in Spain. Finally, when the spaniards could organize their reaction they fought and defeated the french army.

But the battles of Bailén (the very first that Napos army lost) and Toulouse (this one final and conclusive) were won by the spanish army. So it is no wonder that the rest of europe joked about french musketry but on the other hand feared the sheer mass of Napoleons army and the efficient way he commanded it. prior to Blüchers Rhine crossing. The French were confident that no one could shoot across that river, (about 400m) a unit of Jäger thought them otherwise

Thats why the Turks needet so much time to breech the walls. And you have to remember. There were more than 80.000 male civilinans capable to fight in the city! That caused another problem for Turks. Even in 1700 it was regarded as a mighty fortification because it was rebuilt. So it was quite hard to occupie the city
