@mykegoh You're getting into deeper theological waters... the short answer is that Christ WAS God incarnate, but that he was also fully human in this form. Fully human and fully God. It's made clear during His temptation in the wilderness that He's CAPABLE of using his "God-powers", but choosing not to, for the human experience. That's the simple version anyway.

look i go to this church and people keep saying im sorry for your loss.this is a good thing but bad because theres a lot of people who said jesus name who wouldnt of said it if this statue hadnt burnt down.they are going to build a bigger and better one and jus so ya know we dont bow down to this statue

Were they Saved? Or just sympathizing with you? How many people could you feed with $250,000+? How many people could you help free from addiction?

Go do outreach in His name with that money, watch people be Saved because they see something Divine in your selflessness! I've seen it happen, and it cost a lot less than your previous and proposed future statue!

I understand they wanted to draw attention to the Glory and Majesty of Christ, but Christ-like actions would have given Him more glory than $250,000 worth of styrofoam and fiberglass!

I hope they don't build another one- I find anything to do with religion offensive. The people who built it were a bunch of bible thumping nutcases- stop trying to shove jesus down my fucking throat, losers. I thank the good lord that I came from an area that was liberal and showed tolerance. That jesus that burned down was ugly. It was mother nature being an arsonist.

For the record, Jesus found "religion" to be offensive too, as do I.

I have no regrets- the past is the past, but religion has dumbed up people to the point they will believe in anything the government, schools, their church tell them. It's pathetic and we don't need it. All you need is love.

People who vote republican cause they think it's their duty as a good "Christian", for example. We're not all like that though. I once told my pastor, "my problem is, I QUESTION everything". Just be aware, and do the will of God, or the Truth- it's in all basic religions from Buddhism to Islam. You got to get rid of the supernatural and delusion. You got to trust what is real- and what you see. may not always be what you think it is. BTW, I am not against anyone, but I wish more people would do something about their ignorance, greed and hate. :)

@nrobnas43 One of the things that kept me away from the faith for so long was that, from what I'd ever seen, you were required to turn your brain off to be a Believer. My pastor has repeatedly told us, don't just take his word for whatever his message is that day, go out and look it up and research it and investigate it yourself! The Lord doesn't want mindless robots! =)
