@NostalgicDepression Thank you for turning me onto this, I really enjoy searching out things like this but its also always nice to have some guidance :)
Lets explore neurotheology. How odd it must be for the transcendental realm to display itself only in conditions of extreme alterations in consciousness. How come an individual rapture of the divine happens in these circumstances?
@AlgeKalipso Having experimented with a lot of Psychedelic drugs, I can say the closest I've come to a "divine" experience was smoking a lot of 100x saliva..I felt I could view my self as particles held together by my conscious..but science is my truth. In my opinion your just unlocking your deepest sub conscious...some people happen to have some notion of God or the divine deep in there and thats whats projected to them. I haven't tried DMT yet so I'm not an expert or claim to be anything close.
@dagnut Thanks for your input. I must say that dmt is far clearer and centered than salvia, but that might be quite subjective. I agree with you that if there is a preconceived notion of the divine, psychedelic experiences can make a person interpret the unfamiliar landscape by invoking divine entities. The video rings bells, though, and I still think that more thought has to be put in understanding how truly astonishing experiences involving timeless entities arise in such states.
@dagnut Gosh, we don't even understand how the sense of 'I' arises in the brain, and it is a truly remarkable that physical systems in this universe do such things. It may not be necessary to invoke anything outside the universe or supernatural, but for sure something really impressive is happening when we are able to figure out who we are whenever we open our eyes.
@thaylang1234 That wasn't aimed at you, try and come up with something original. Maybe you should stop taking drugs if they are making you stupid, they are not for everyone.
@gatheringleaves You obviously don't have a clear mind if you feel the need to come along and try to judge me!! I would rather shoot myself in the face than take advice from some fat Yank in some shit pot town in Long Island...you've probably never even been outside of your state let alone the US.Take a look at your own pathetic life before you try and pass judgement on others...I'd say more than 80% of the music you have in favourites was helped by the use of psychedelic drugs.
@poafro I'm not the one claiming to have a clear mind am I? I was engaged in a conversation with someone who was interested in what I was saying...I didn't ask some little prick to start judging me...if I was in a pub having a conversation about drugs and some little shit stain decided to but in, tell me to quit drugs and called me a retard I'd smash his face in...that's the way it is.. that's where I'm from... I'm not angry in the slightest thanks for the input but much appreciated.

They should have been included in the soundtrack. I am SO glad they exist!! Their music is among the most beautiful sounds that I have ever heard on this earth.
Once you can accept and understand the universe as being something expanding into an infinite nothing which is something, you are on the path of enlightenment.
Disease? The lonely cell of awareness, a transparant human self, is a strange germ in Cosmos. This delicate metaphor lead to many perspectives. Reading Izzy's words the emotional nucleus of Tommy divides and his shamanic shape becomes a transcedental meditator: he finally accepts death. Consciousness grows here without scientific knowledge. Cells of our body show already a psychological parallel: everybody must divide the personal cell of self to feel the other. Ego is a hard seed with stings.
@Contextcatcher understood. to navigate through this cosmos and reach nirvana - freedom - spiritual release we must remove our ego from our self. perhaps the release of dmt at the time of our death helps us to achieve that.
@missdauris Darrens spirit is also ironic and sober, sure there are connections, but words "Enlightenment" or "Enlightened" are for me more appropriate. Transformation of nature, circle of life and death, we are out of God in contact with Cosmos. The nucleus of meditating Tommy towards strarlight explodes in a kind of Big Bang is a great metaphor for burst out of consciousness and therfore ego: realizing an unity with nature. This psychedelic trip of mourning ends significant with Izzy's seed.
We are not dieing - if we treated our bodies and spirits with which they deserve - noone should ever die. Be critical on death and to why would it EVER happen to you my friend, why? :D or if it will - will it be so bad you have to fear it? we all come back here later after all. Be with love
Great images. The guy in the video is on a psychedelic trip for sure. I suppose his spirit is finally free and is traveling the cosmos freely & in sync with the limitless universe. However the chick sounds like a howling cunt. Not good. It's getting old.
my husband was 17 when he nearly died from alcohol poisoning when your blood alcohol level reaches .40 by law you are legally dead and his alcohol level was at .76 by luck someone found him unconscious in the street not breathing and foaming out the mouth at some point in the hospital he said he remembers being on a beach coastline walking up to a tree that glowed and he looked up to the sky and seen a red pheonix with now form came down and changed into a human form and it goes on from there...

beautiful. perfect video for this song. when he reaches out to the tree and the tree's "hairs" go out to him it made my own hairs on my skin stand up, and for some reason, an emotion welled up in me that made me want to cry.....
Sigur Ros just happen to make my heart feel so warm in the days i feel bad. I have all their CD's only because Jonsi's beautiful voice and the band unexplainable capacity to make me travel thru time and space to those memories that bring tears of joy to my eyes... There are no words to describe such a beautiful feeling... it is just so pure....

Breathtaking, intense songs by this extremely young newcomer..
@GalenSpring I'm barely 19. It's no so much old, as in literal age, though I meant multiple things when I made that comment to saraguy, I mean it's more of your "age" or how much you trascend in wisdom and knowledge from the experiences you do have and what you take away from them. That's age, among other things.
@FFRMANIAC you are completely right. many people put me down for aspiring to be wealthy, but they dont understand how much of the world requires wealth to be seen. i want to lay my eyes across the earth and just absorb it all. there is no limit to what we can learn or believe, and i wish more people would understand that
@GalenSpring I think there is a misconception between wealthy and materialism in most people, just as there is between Identity and Being. I have my own ideal path to follow, and while it intersects yours and not overlaps it, I can understand the difference between materialist wants, wanting money to be wealthy, and materialistic needs, wanting money to instill bliss in yourself and others.
@saraguy1921 If I was on my death bed with old age I'd try my hardest to convince people i was possessed and tell people the darkbringer was coming!!!! That would put the wind up em!
What we call dying of old age is actually a horrible painful way to die. It involves your body slowly killing itself as your internal organs lose their ability to self-maintain.
Very nice combination of music with the movie! ~ but the whole song lasts for 7:39. Maybe re-upload it with the whole song (up thru 7:20 anyway), even if the ending uses a blank screen.
elderane — April 25, 2007 — if you haven't seen the movie The Fountain, then don't watch this.
why not? i'd never heard of it and it looks interesting, i think i will go watch it. and if it has beauty or merit of any sort i will encourage others to do so.
What a masterpiece this video is (Yoda Style rulz!)
Really amazing.. it's so .. so ..so beautiful and distorted guys! and the song..what a song! Sæglopúr ♥ ...the misticy of Vonleska and Iceland language mixed with the falsseto voice of Jonsi.. it's beauty for my ears. Mix this with the movie footage and you have a special experience..so incredible!
i had always assumed this was some kind of language, too, but then found out that it is "Vonlenska", Sigur Ros' songs are composed of non-words, and have no meaning, definition or grammar. they "speak" a "non-language" to fit into the music and provoke emotion. so amazing!!!
@mymrsrobinson I thought they were singing in their Icalandic language so now what I've been hearing isn't a real language at all? But their songs do stir the heart!
@theclockstickin yea it might be your speakers man. I was using my laptops native speakers and had the same problem, sounded like shit until i plugged in the headphones.
hmm... Fox entertainment hasn't blocked this yet ? Whats your secret? :D

@saraguy1921 If I was on my death bed with old age I'd try my hardest to convince people i was possessed and tell people the darkbringer was coming!!!! That would put the wind up em!

@saraguy1921
What we call dying of old age is actually a horrible painful way to die. It involves your body slowly killing itself as your internal organs lose their ability to self-maintain.

@pennybeggar alas, its the best way to die

Very nice combination of music with the movie! ~ but the whole song lasts for 7:39. Maybe re-upload it with the whole song (up thru 7:20 anyway), even if the ending uses a blank screen.

Great mix, thanks for your time to upload and share!

what are the lyrics to this song in the begining?
YoArtem 1 year ago
@YoArtem Sigur Ros sometimes sings in Icelandic, but often creates nonsense words and sounds that simply sound beautiful.

that movie was so good! emancipator has great music what a nice combo!

Is there anything more beautiful than both the Fountain or Sigur Rós? They both made me cry, imagine what the combination does...

elderane — April 25, 2007 — if you haven't seen the movie The Fountain, then don't watch this.
why not? i'd never heard of it and it looks interesting, i think i will go watch it. and if it has beauty or merit of any sort i will encourage others to do so.

Well, I watch this anyway, eventhough I was told not to. Now I want to see the Fountain movie even more! Sigur Ros is great BTW.

Hey, I actually like this, cause it isn't a music video patched together and ruined by some cheesy rock song or Requiem For A Dream, excellent.

Why didn't they put this song in the movie, it would have made it so much more beautiful
dudewheresmyjew 1 year ago
I like this. So much so. The tinkling reminds me a bit of Passion Pit's "Sleepyhead."

@GitYoFunOn wha - are you sure? I mean passion pit is a good band and Sleepyhead a great song but . . RLY?

What a masterpiece this video is (Yoda Style rulz!)
Really amazing.. it's so .. so ..so beautiful and distorted guys! and the song..what a song! Sæglopúr ♥ ...the misticy of Vonleska and Iceland language mixed with the falsseto voice of Jonsi.. it's beauty for my ears. Mix this with the movie footage and you have a special experience..so incredible!

@ardillalol
i had always assumed this was some kind of language, too, but then found out that it is "Vonlenska", Sigur Ros' songs are composed of non-words, and have no meaning, definition or grammar. they "speak" a "non-language" to fit into the music and provoke emotion. so amazing!!!
mymrsrobinson 1 year ago
@mymrsrobinson I thought they were singing in their Icalandic language so now what I've been hearing isn't a real language at all? But their songs do stir the heart!
