It is nice to be able to see the video in its entirety. Only one complaint. It should be "Confirm" not "Stay firm" at 1:30. It is the affirmative for a question asked, which was what the previous statement was (a question).
What did these soldiers do that was wrong? They were not deliberately targeting civilians or reporters, they were shooting at men they believed to be carrying assault weapons. Are they supposed to wait until the other guys get a few rounds off first?

Insurgents use regular vehicles not tanks and jeeps. That guy in the van was stupid to walk into a firefight, he put his child at risk and sealed the fate of the guy crawling on the curb. The apache was done firing and said they will not fire unless they see him with a weapon. The van showing up caused the death of that guy.

Lol there were NOT any weapons in this video at all. The ONLY weapons in this video are waht were on the hellicopters and soldiers who came to document that mess. If someone over the radio said two are carrying rifles but I think another two might be carrying cameras they would not have fired. These journalists basically put on a some antlers and walked around the forest with other deer during hunting season. They paid the ultimate price for their poor judgment. What did these soldiers do that was wrong? They were not deliberately targeting civilians or reporters, they were shooting at men they believed to be carrying assault weapons. Are they supposed to wait until the other guys get a few rounds off first?

@omiteru There is a better quality version out there than this one and it clearly shows two of them carrying rifles. This was not a mistake, it was a case of journalists being irresponsible with their own safety. They could be using infrared friend versus foe identification systems on their clothing but don't. Their employer CNN is just as culpable.

@Seapaddler I will have to take the time and look for it. It should be able to clear up some of the misunderstanding. However, this video does show what appears to be guns by some of the people. The mistake I mention is the collateral deaths. The point is that the soldier acted according to what they perceived as a real treat.

The cameras were mistook for weapons so what, there are two others carrying rifles. You mix with armed enemy you are responsible for your safety. Go look at this version "Wikileaks leaked video of Civilians killed in Baghdad - Full video" at 203 the striped shirt guy is carrying a folding stock Kalashnikov and the guy beside him is carrying an RPG7 by it's pistol grip. It even glints in the sun at the breech when he turns around. The same two individuals are at the corner when the apache fires. Later the ground units confirms the RPG under a body.

@dzambulat92 The van that shows up does not have an international red cross symbol on it does it. It is fired upon because it is considered hostile. Insurgents use regular vehicles not tanks and jeeps. That guy in the van was stupid to walk into a firefight, he put his child at risk and sealed the fate of the guy crawling on the curb. The apache was done firing and said they will not fire unless they see him with a weapon. The van showing up caused the death of that guy.
