@082207 I did some digging and you are right, it's not supposed to be Iggy, but then why did Iggy say it WAS him? And the other night I played this track on my radio show and one of my listeners tuned in while it was playing and texted "I love Iggy!" to me before I had even identified the track, so it does sound like Iggy.
A classic song 30 years ahead of time!!! Wonderful track from a great album! Found it not to long ago on vinyl, first edition,1974 One hell of a great album!!!
@sefero Maybe Iggy sang the back up vocals/ the chorus. There is two voices singing it seems.
P.S. What does "reveal" mean? Does it mean to "say" something? Back to square one, who knows what the truth is? Iggy was friends with Jim right? Some times Iggy could have mimicked Jim's voice on this album to confuse us even more. Other times it could have been Jim. Who will ever know for sure? I believe that Jim was smart enough to fake his death given the scary situation he was in.
interesting. I just found out about this in an old issue of Mojo. the vocals really do sound just like Jim. but once you get past that, the musics not bad either
Whoever these guys were, they were obviously copying the style of morrison & the doors. The lyrical content is nowhere near the level of sophistication of morrison's though. I have the full LP, & it is good-certainly worth a listen, but not on the doors' mind-blowing level!
comon here are more than one singer on the lp,the beginning in this song is with 100% morrison or some man who gives a chance to earn millions of dollars away,by not playing with the living doors.the only question is from when is the first take"tales from a wizard"could be recorded earlier, but the style is obviously 72-74 prog hardrock style simple to spot out.
hm.. i do not claim anything here, but the first verse of the song until the hard rock part starts,is a perfect copy listened to it many times yesterday.its the only vocal line which sounds like jim the same line tonality.the rest i have got the whole lp now,is very differnet ,could be that the singer hasnt got any personality at al like an actor or something.but i like it.
more specified, in this song from 1.35 to 3.08 its jims voice, compair it to the rest of this song here ! ! the other songs definitely do not sound like him but sometimes as if someone trys to copy him "merlin" (the kind of spech)and"half aive" but it is obviously a copy.take a look please
As I said, the vocalist in this song is not Morrison and as the Band has asked that names not be used, I respect their wishes. It is the same singer on this album (Divine comedy part one) and on the other unreleased songs posted on Youtube.
arw, seriously, how could this be posed as morrison's "coming from the claws of death" piece! Sounds nothing like him, awesome music though... kinda more like king crimson on their better albums
check out the latest Phantom's divine comedy videos.
And to the nay sayeres, I don't give a good Goddamn what You believe, the music was cool, i don't care if the Dude is the divine drummer or not it's a good ride and I am having fun. Thats all that counts!
As I told you in a personal email, It lists all the wrong musicians. I was the drummer on that album and none of those names are right. The Phantom, myself, and the one other musician that did 95% of the Divine Comedy deserve recognition after all the years of rumors and false credit. We were doing the demo tapes for "Part II" when things came apart. I have some of the early "Part II" tracks on tape. Your video does a great job of visualizing where our heads were at. Very nice!
your full of crap anybody could come on here and claim to be the phantoms drummer yeah cuz ye kno im johnny cashs son its as easy as that to claim somethin as ridiculous as what you claim if you were the drummer id like to see some hardproof that you were and dont say oh i dont have to prove myself to anybody cause thats exactly what a liar would do and will further support my case that your full of shit
arrrgh wizards and dragons. grrrr... i think mr. mojo risin was more into shamans and dead injuns. its not his style... if u listen to the doors its obviously not his style. definately iggy pop. UNLESS!!! Iggy is jim!! with plastic surgery! and a change in style! and stuff!! *giggles* wizards and dragons...
This is Iggy but it does weirdly sound like Jim. Entertaining.

We have a great conversation going on, but the Band at this point has chosen not to reveal who the Members of the Band were!
Hey great music, and some day We will maybe know the true Musicians. But until then lets just enjoy some great 70's music.

The Band Members posted at the end of this video were taken off the internet, I am now told they may not be accurate.
